What is the process for ensuring that openldap is started before DirectoryService starts? Since DirectoryService is started by mach_init.d it's too late to start LDAP via SystemStarter.

  • I have a Dell AIO 944 printer, how can I configure my Mac, running Lion, to use it?

Where can I find a down driver so I can use my Dell  printer with the Mac?

    Hey viviane,
The first thing check with the Dell printer Support Site with the printer specific Model.
If it display's any software for the Mac OS X, Download it from the www.dell.com/support .
If the Dell printer does not have software on Dell site itself.
It means the specific Dell Printer does not support Apple Mac OS X.
In Apple some specific Dell printers are not supported by Apple.
    OR
Try Searching for software in Apple Downloads from from Apple site.
    and check this Link to.

  • Configure how long a automatic activity  can run before timeout

I have a long running job in this step. Can I configure how long that automatic activity can run before it will time out. How do I configure this when running in the BPM Studio and when deploy the apps to the server?
Alternatively, I was try to use a SecureShell to run a unix job with nohup but somehow it doesn't execute properly and the shell would exit out but the script would not run. When I run the same nohup command line in the external host, it does run properly. Is there any special way to call nohup through SecureShell.
    Thanks,
    Wing

You can define the timeout of the BP-Methods that is actually the value that should be used for the method in your automatic activities. This is configured into the Engine preferences and it's the Maximum BP-Methods+ Timeout parameter, both for the studio and the enterprise.
Remember to handle the timeout exception when using this parameter. If not correctly handled, your process will abort.

  • For the AD FS Wizard how do I configure a certificate so I can run WCF applications on my server

For the AD FS Wizard how do I configure a certificate so I can run WCF applications on my server.
Certificate Status: This CA Root certificate is not trusted because it is not in the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store.
    In IIS under Server Certificates:
    IIS Express Development Certificate
It will not let me "Complete Certificate Request" because I do not have a ".cer" certificate file.
How do I get ".cer" file for this Certificate or maybe make one in IIS 8.0 not Express?

You need to make the certificate trusted by adding it in the Trusted Root Certification Authorities
store using Certificates snap-in. You can use Certificates
snap-in in MMC to export the certificate in a .cer file.

  • How do I configure a basic LDAP to work with OPS Center?

I have Solaris 11 and have configured it a few ways with LDAP. The last setup I used Directory server with a proxy then added LDAP configs. I am having problem getting the clients working correctly but first I need to know if I can just configure LDAP without DSEE and allow OPS Center to control the users?
Chapter 9 of the Oracle Solaris Administration guide says DSEE is recommended but not required and points you to chapter 14. But I have been unable to figure out how to create the DN and Bind PW prior to configuring LDAP with IDSCONFIG. The OPS Center server is already in play so if configured correctly I should be able to talk to the LDAP server.
Does anyone know what set I am missing or whether it can be done without DSEE?

After contacting Oracle I was informed that there Documentation is misleading and that DSEE is required.
    From Oracle
"The statement "However, while using the Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition is recommended, it is not required", does not mean you can configure the Solaris native ldap client without a Directory Server. What the statement means is the Solaris native ldap client is not required to use the Oracle Directory Server, it is recommended, but the Solaris native ldap client can be setup to work with third party Directory Servers. The term "not required" is a reference to the use of the Oracle Directory Server vs a third party Directory Server."
The documentation does not state that Directory Server of any kind is required.

How have you configured your OPC Server tags?  Are they strings of floating point type?  What type of server is being created?
Also, what's the end goal of this?  Generally speaking NI OPC Servers is used to communicate to a PLC as you have seen.

  • How to configure LDAP in BPEL Server

    Hi,
How to configure LDAP in BPEL Server?
Also, what if we want to bounce to a YAHOO or GMAIL type email?
Basically, can we do dynamic email and phone notifications from BPEL?
Is there any documentation which tell us how to do this?
I appreciate any pointer in this regard.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Levey.

    Levey,
You can do the dynamic email and phone notifications with the help of xpath expressions. Basically there are api to get the these attributes based on the ID on the identity server.

  • How do I import LDAP directory users for assigning devices in Configurator?

I have the Apple Configurator up and running and it is working well.  However, I would like to import my user list so that I don't have to manually add 150+ users to assign devices.  Is this possible?

This is not something I have done myself before, but I believe it certainly is possible.  Have you read the help file?  https://help.apple.com/configurator/mac/1.5/#cadbf9c2a0
    In short:
Step one - Sign into your LDAP server in system preferences.
Step two - in the Assign view of Configurator click a + and start typing user names, it should fill with users from your server.  I assume it's possible to add groups at a time.  These are pretty good guides also:

  • How do we install LDAP server and configure ?..

    How to configure LDAP server...

You'll have more luck in the forum for LDAP: Oracle Unified Directory (OUD) & Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition/Sun DSEE
I suggest that you also include more information in your posts about what you've already tried to do and why it doesn't seem to be working. Simply asking "how to configure LDAP" isn't going to elicit many responses....You need to show you've actually attempted it yourself.
Also, you'll always want to include the versions of the software you're using.

  • Issues when configure LDAP server in OBIEE

    Hi,
I have a big issue, I configure LDAP server for authentication of users, and everything looks fine, but my problem is when I log in Interactive Dashbaords, I enter without any problem, but some parameters and some filters and some functions are NOT working, for example:
-In a parameter I have this condition for Default value: SELECT YEAR(Tiempo.Dia) FROM Finanzas WHERE Tiempo.dia = CURRENT_DATE, and returns me a null value, but if I change to this SELECT YEAR(Tiempo.Dia) FROM Finanzas WHERE Tiempo.dia = CURRENT_DATE-1, returns me "2010"
I have similar behaviors in other parameters, and some filters and some functions.
Everything happen in Development instance. I configure LDAP server in Development instance.
In Production instance nothing of this is happen, but I do not configure LDAP server yet.
What do anyone think is happen here? This happens because I configure LDAP server? What do you think that mades this behavior for my parameters, filters and functions?
Do you think is a better practice to clone Production instance to Development instance? If so, how can I do a clone instance, only for OBIEE?

The date returned by CURRENT_DATE is determined by the system in which the Oracle BI Server is running. So, does CURRENT_DATE returns an equal values on prom and dev instances in your case?

  • How can I configure iPlanet LDAP5.1 wiht WLS7.0

I got a problems about access denied...
I think it may be occur from user/password(weblogic/weblogic) that I try to connect
    to LDAP .. I doesn't work..
I would to know how can I add new user(weblogic) in LDAP and act as Administrator....

    Hi Eric,
Even after you have your iPlanet LDAP authenticator set up, you will not see users/groups
listed in the console. Console does not currently list users/groups for your external ldap
    provider.
You could test by writing a simple web app that has security on some resource, so that only
a user that exists in your ldap realm has permission

    Hi Ting
Steps to set up WLS 7.0 with external LDAP provider: (example is for
    iplanet but this
will work for any other Ldap server too)
    I. create a new domain /mydomain
    II. start server
III. open WebLogic console in a browser
IV. in left frame, go to security->realms->myrealm->providers->AuthenticationProviders
    and click
    V. in right frame, click on “Configure a new iPlanet Authenticator”
VI. In the new screen, under General, make sure the Control Flag is set
    to Required,
select a name for this authenticator, and click Create.
VII. Select iPlanet LDAP tab and fill in values for Host, Port, Principal
    where these
values reflect the settings for your LDAP server. (Note: the default
    principal for an
    iPlanet LDAP server is uid=admin, ou=Administrators, ou=TopologyManagement,
    o=NetscapeRoot). Click Apply.
VIII. Click on Credential: Change. At the new screen, enter the credential
    associated
with the Principal that you entered in step VII in both boxes. This
    will be the password
that is used to do a bind to your LDAP server with the principal. Click
    Apply.
IX. Select Users tab and make sure these properties accurately reflect
    the structure of
your LDAP server. Most of the time the only property that needs to be
    changed is the
User Base DN property, from ou=people,o=example.com to ou=people,o=myCompany.com.
    Click
    Apply.
    X. Select Groups tab and make sure these properties accurately reflect
    the structure of
your LDAP server. Most of the time the only property that needs to be
    changed is the
Groups Base DN property, from ou=people,o=example.com to ou=groups,o=myCompany.com.
    Click Apply.
XI. Now, the boot identity of your server absolutely must be a user that
    exists on your
LDAP server. You must also have an “Administrators” group on your LDAP
    server, and the
boot identity must be a user that exists in this “Administrators” group,
    or the server
will not start. So open your LDAP console (this will be a console that
    is specific to
the LDAP server you are using) and use the management tools to create
    the
“Administrators” group and a user that you place in the “Administrators”
    group that is
the boot identity that you use to start WebLogic.
XII. Make these changes and restart the server.
XIII. You can verify that the LDAP setup is correct by doing a thread
    dump. You should
    see a thread like:
    “LDAPConnThread localhost:389" daemon prio=5 tid=0x8d9b308 nid=0x8f8
    runnable
    [0x9e2f000..0x9e2fdbc]
    at java.net.SocketInputStream.socketRead(Native Method)
    at java.net.SocketInputStream.read(SocketInputStream.java:86)
    at java.io.BufferedInputStream.fill(BufferedInputStream.java:186)
    at java.io.BufferedInputStream.read(BufferedInputStream.java:204)
    - locked <3281d98> (a java.io.BufferedInputStream)
    at netscape.ldap.ber.stream.BERElement.getElement(BERElement.java:101)
    at netscape.ldap.LDAPConnThread.run(LDAPConnThread.java:420)
where “localhost:389” is the server name and port of
    your LDAP server.
This means that your Authenticator has been set up correctly.
XIV. Now you can delete your default authenticator. Open the WebLogic
    console and go to
    security->realms->myrealm->providers->AuthenticationProviders in the
    left frame, and
    click
XV. In the right frame, look for DefaultAuthenticator and click on the
    trash can to the
far right. Say “Yes” when it asks if you are sure, then click Continue.
XVI. Restart the WebLogic server. If the server boots correctly, you’re
    done.
    Everything is working correctly.
    Hope this helps
