How do I connect Equium to my existing Wi-Fi Network?

Hi,
I'm writing this on my old PC.
Can anyone tell me how I can connect my new Toshiba Equium Laptop to my existing Wi-Fi home network please? I am useless with PCs so please word your answer in very simple terms. Very many thanks,
Ceri Di
_PS_
Why doesn't Toshiba have its own email helpline lifeline? Anyone know?

Hiya,
Firstly, turn on the WLAN switch on the side of the unit. Then go to Start => Control Panel (Classic View) => Network and Sharing Centre => on the left there will be a list of options - select Manage Wireless Networks => click the word Add (it has a green + sign beside it) => select "Connect to a network that is in range of this computer" => You will be shown networks that are in range - select the one you want to connect to and enter the encryption key if you have one for your network
Good luck :)

  • Connecting Time Capsule to existing Netgear wireless network

Hi, hope someone can help please?
Have a MacBook Pro and Time Capsule. Want to use TC just for wireless back up with Time Machine. I'm trying to connect it to my existing Netgear wireless network. I've been through the set up process with Airport Utility. It can find the TC on it's own default Apple network, but when I select add to existing network my Netgear network is not showing from the drop down menu (but my neighbours networks are). If I type it in and add it manually the TC restarts but just continues searching for network (flashing amber) and does not connect. I have administrated my Netgear router to allow access to the TC's airport ID and I can't think what else to try.
    Can anyone help please?

    Hmmm.
There are several IDs for the TC. AirPort IDs and an ethernet or MAC address.
If you have a dual band TC, there are separate AirPort IDs for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. I'm not sure if the TC can join another manufacturer's network at 5 GHz, but it should be able to join at 2.4 GHz.
Is that what you entered? If you entered this ID and it does not connect, then try the MAC address of the Time Capsule. I don't have one handy at the moment, but I'm pretty sure the MAC address is on the bottom of the device. The AirPort ID should be there as well.

  • How do I connect my printer to a new wireless network?

I currently have a MacBook Pro and HP Photosmart C4580 All-in-one printer. I have had the printer a long time, and have since lost the cable to connect it to my laptop, and any paperwork or cds recieved with it.
I have been unable to figure out how to change my printer's settings so it is connected to my new house's wireless network, the wireless test report showed it is trying to connect to my old one in another town. I have a usb cable I can borrow to hook the printer up to my laptop, but would like to be able to just print wirelessly. Is there any way to do so?

If you want to change your existing connection to a wireless network, follow these instructions.
    Open HP Device Manager.
Figure 5: HP Device Manager icon
From the Information and Settings drop-down menu, click Setup Assistant .
The HP Setup Assistant window opens.
Follow the on-screen instructions to change your connection type to an existing wireless network.
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

How can I add my iPad3 to my local home network?

Wifi network? Tap on the settings icon. Choose the name of your network, tap on it, follow the on screen prompts to sign into the network.
If it's not wifi, then you can't. The iPad doesn't support wired internet

  • How can I  connect to SQL server database thru local network by using JSP?

I'm currently doing a project by using JSP..And I need to display record from the SQL Server database in our school's local network. May I know how can I do that? How can I write the code so that I can able to access the SQL Server databsase Throught school's network by using JSP? Please tell me step by step how can I do that. I'm using Tomcat 4.1 as Web Server. And I had J2SE and J2EE installed in my computer.

first you have to establish a ODBC DSN on your computer,
that connects to the database...you can do that from your control pannel.
i assume that the TOMCAT server is residing on your computer....(if the webserver is in other computer then you would have to create a System DSN on the data sources ODBC option in the settings>control pannel of that machine)
then you can use that DSN name to connect to the data base from the class file....for further assistance on how to create the class that access the tutorials in sun site.

  • How can I connect older Mac Pro (2006) to my network wirelessly?

I just got a new (2012) MacPro that I can connect wirelessly to my network. I'm moving the old Mac Pro (2006) running OS 10.7.5 that had been connect via ethernet cable to the other end of the house. What do I need to get to connect it wirelessly?
    Thanks,
    Carmen

    Carmen,
Since the Wireless card was optional back then, you may not have gotten it in your original config?
You can verify if the hardware is installed several places, as Bob mentioned, do you have the option to enable wireless under your System Prefs \ Network (I would imagine not, since your asking). However, while very unlikely, it may be installed but your not able to see/select it for some reason?
So, just to make sure, you can also verify via looking under "System Information" (you'll want some info from there anyway).
"Apple Menu : About This Mac : More Info : System Report : Network : (look for Wi-Fi etc.)" if it exist you'll see the card and info about it.
If you don't have the option nor see a card was installed you can go about this a few ways.
    1. The absolute easiest route (to NOT have to deal with 3rd party drivers or possible 3rd party issues when you upgrade your OS etc) is check out places like Macsales and see if they have any of the original Air Port extreme cards available and install yourself. - http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Apple/BCM94322MC/
    2. You could talk with Macsales and ask which external USB wireless card works best with your rig (least fussy) and go that route. While several brands work just fine, you just never know when something changes in an update and then your faced with the old pointing fingers thing. Rare, but still....
Also, while your in the System Information area you'll want to note your model, if it's 2006, I think that's Mac Pro 1,1 ?
    Hope that helps.

  • How do I connect with a cat5 cable to my network switch?

I have wireless connection issues with my second generation timecapsule and my windows 7 professional computer.  I used to have very good connection with my windows XP (SP3) computer but notice it is now sporatic.  How can I set up the timecapsule to backup files with a cat5 network cable in case of wireless issues?  Which ethernet port do I use or should I use the WAN port?  Is there any difference in using the newest 2GB timecapsule with the second generation unit?

    How old is the TC??
Some are more than 3years some are less .. any less can be still under applecare warranty if you have a mac purchased within 2years of the TC.
It could be dying.. they do that... regularly at this point in time.
Actually it is dying.. but I cannot tell you if it will die tomorrow, or live to ripe old age.. 3years and 3days when apple designed it to break. Some make it past break date.. some.. !!
For ethernet ports.. they might become as sporadic as the wireless.. once the power supply reaches EOL, more so actually as it draws more current.
Plug into any LAN port. But you have to have the TC setup using ethernet in either router or bridge mode.. if you are using it in join wireless mode then the ethernet ports won't work.
Just plug in and see.. there is no big deal with doing it.
Are you running bonjour on the win7 pc?
Is your TC setup properly for SMB networking.. ie wireless and TC names correct.. short.. no spaces.. pure alphanumeric.
Setup guest account to read and write permissions.. workgroup set correctly??
Win7 has some nasty behaviour in occasionally deciding it is no longer in a home network.. but work or public.. ensure home.. turn off excess firewalls. ie more than one. Often security software adds secondary firewall to windows internal one.
Lastly the latest firmware to the TC is worse than 7.5.1 or 7.5.2.. and of no advantage to you.. go back.
Is there any difference in using the newest 2GB timecapsule with the second generation unit?
Should be somewhat better wireless.. somewhat faster hard disk access.
In practice.. who knows.. the improvement will be incremental at best.

  • Cannot connect airport express to existing Verizon DSL Network

    Hi all,
I have just purchased a 802.11n Airport Express. The purpose was to extend my current wireless network and to rock tunes. I currently have a wireless DSL modem connected to Verizon via ethernet. The modem is a GT704WG verizon dsl wireless modem. When I try to use the airport utility and go through the set up I am told that the AE cannot connect to the network. During the setup it does see my current wireless network and asks for the password which I provided. But still it doesn't work. Is there a compatibility issue here? Will a 802.11n AE work with an existing modem?

Hello ferrjerr. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
Which wireless encryption standard are you using on the Actiontec GT704-WG Gateway? WEP or WPA? If using WEP, I strongly suggest switching to WPA as WEP is no longer considered secure. If you are already using WPA, please try temporarily disabling it to see if the AirPort Express Base Station (AX) can now join the Actiontec's wireless network.

  • How can I connect my mobile device on the same network with my printer

I have pictures on my mobile device but I am unable to print them on my HP Photosmart plus printer. I was wondering how am I able to make sure that my printer and my mobile device is on the same network so I can print my pictures or either be able to save them to my memory card?

    Hi,
Are you talking about iPad, iPhone ?? If YES then please check your printer on this list,(updated on 15Dec2011) it must be an AirPrint enabled printer to be able to print from iPad, iPhone. If YES (again), you can use AirPrint on your iPad to print.
    Regards.

  • Airport Extreme won't show the WD external hard drive I plugged into the USB port.  How do I connect my external hard drive to my network?

I plugged in my WD external hard drive into my Airport Extreme via the USB port.  The hard drive will not show up in the disk section in the airport utility... How do I hook an external hard drive up to the airport extreme?  I have tried 2 different WD hard drives.  I must be missing something!!!
    Thanks!

To be recognized by the AirPort for sharing, the WD HDD has to be formatted in either HFS+ (ideal) or FAT32. The easiest way to format the HDD is to use the Disk Utility in OS X.

  • How to extending the range of an existing airport express network?

I have a Dell PC (Dimension 8100) and a Dell laptop (model Latitude D620). Both use Windows XP.
I use Airport Express for wireless network - it has worked very well for the past 2 years.
I purchased another Airport Express in order to extending the range. I have tried setting it up following the instructions but have failed.
Can someone please help me understand where I could be making an error? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Wireless Distribution System (WDS) Setup
(Note: To facilitate setting up the base stations, place them in near proximity of each other during the set up phase.)
Set up the AirPort Express Base Station (AX) as the WDS Main Base Station, by either connecting to the AX's wireless network or by temporarily connecting directly, using an Ethernet cable, to the Ethernet port of the AX, and then use the AirPort Admin Utility to make the following settings.
    WDS Tab
    - Enable this base station as a WDS: main base station (checked)
    - Allow wireless clients on this base station (checked)
    - Click "+" to add Remote/Relay Base Stations.
-- Select the Base Station that you want to be the WDS Remote/Relay.
-- AirPort ID: <verify that this is the correct MAC address for the Base Station you are adding as a Remote/Relay.
-- Auto configure as a WDS remote base station (checked)
    -- Click "OK."
    - Verify that the Remote/Relay Base Station has been added to the list.
    - Click "Update," and then verify the settings for the Remote/Relay.
-- Allow wireless clients on this base station (checked)
-- New network name: <verify that this is the same as the network name for the AX>
    -- TCP/IP: Configure using DHCP
    -- Base Station Password: <the Remote/Relay Base Station password>
    -- Confirm: <same as previous step>
    -- Click "OK."

How do I connect PHP to a existing site. I've been using MS Expressions for my PHP? I would like to use Dreamweaver CS5 to write PHP to an existing site. Dreamweaver had a message saying it could find the correct server.

Did you define your local testing server in DW?

Screenshots below are for WAMP server on C drive:
    Under Advanced tab:
    Hit Save.
Final screen should look like this:

  • Time Capsule - 2GB - Can't connect to existing 5-GHz network

Just purchased the Time Capsule - I was going to try to connect it to my existing 5-GHz network - but every time I try - it seems to get stuck in an infinite loop of trying to connect... If I try to instead connect it to my existing 2.4-GHz network - it works ok.
    Any suggestions?!?
    Thanks.

    Welcome to the disussions!
Can you clarify where you have the Time Capsule located in relation to your router that is creating the 5 GHz network? If it's in another room or area, how many walls must the signal pass through from the main router to the Time Capsule?
