How do I connect my laptop to my Linksys wireless router through the internal wireless card?

I just purchased a gateway laptop and was trying to hook my Linksys wireless router up to it. Ive gotten it hooked up but only through the secondary device (that catches the signal)... I was wondering if there is anyway that I could make my internal wireless internet card a point or no? Can I only connect it to the USB network adapter or is there really a way to go COMPLETELY wireless? Thank you for your time...

Is your internal wireless card enabled? Go to device manager and make sure it is enabled.

  • How to deploy connection (Mac OS X Yosemite to Windows RDS) through the RD Gateway with Two Factor authentication (Safenet OTP) on Session host?

    Good day!
Could you please help me? How to deploy connection (Mac OS X Yosemite to Windows RDS) through the RD Gateway with Two Factor authentication on Session host? How to open an authentication dialog that is the same as in Windows when logging on to network resources
    in Windows (Windows Security)?
Our test environment: We have one RDS 2012 R2 server (all roles in one) and one session host in collection. On the session host installed Safenet Network Logon and it under GPO which disable all authentication, only OTP.

    Hi Sir,
It seems that you are going to integrate 3rd party product into AD for authentication .
I would suggest you to contact the vendor of Safenet for this deployment  scenario  :

Put it into DFU mode - hold the sleep/wake button and home button until the screen goes black (ignoring the slide to turn off slider). When the screen goes black release the sleep/wake button but hold the home button. Continue holding the home button for 10 seconds, then release it. The screen should stay black. Plug it into iTunes and it should come up with this message "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. It must be restored before use", that's when it is successfully in DFU mode. Now press the restore button in iTunes and it should run smoothly :)

  • Can i connect my iPad1 to my 2009 rav 4 through the aux jack?

Can i connect my iPad1 to my 2009 rav 4 through the aux jack? If so, what accessories do I need to make this happen?

Yes that won't be a problem ... All you need is a cable that has both ends that look like the plug for earphones ... Any electronics store will have them ... It uses the car stereo as the headphones ... You may have to use the iPad to control the music and use both volume controls. I would have the on full volume and adjust it to your preference with the stereo, however if you don't have the iPad plugged in to a power source then I would consider only using half volume to save battery life.

  • LinkSys Wireless Card connects to "Access Point" but no internet connection

I have 2 LinkSys wireless cards. one is 802.11g, the other b. The signal for the Airport Extreme 802.11n Wi-Fi Wireless Base Station is very strong, but when I try to connect, it says "You are connected to the access point, but the Internet cannot be found". No internet access, and I can't ping anything (Ping request could not find host...). And of course the printer hooked to the AirPort is also not recognized. My iMac and Macbook both have no problems connecting to the network. There is no problem with ethernet connection to the Airport. Is it possible to have a compatibility problem between the Linksys and Airport hardware? I thought as long as they were were compatible 802.11, they would work together. The cards had no problem with my old DLink router or other hotspots in the city. Is there a set-up I missed for setting up the PC-based cards with the AirPort?

    Is your wireless network secured?
The box said windows xp or better... So I installed Linux!

  • How can i connect windows(laptop) to lion server?

    Hi..
We in our company use mac's as clients. We use Mac OSx 10.7 lion server. We have a lenovo laptop for general purpose. Now can we connect that laptop in network. So that can we remotely use mac screen sharing.

Are you asking how to connect to FileSharing from the PC ?
Or are you asking about screensharing?
    On Server
If file sharing, edit the SharePoint and make sure that
Windows File Sharing (SMB) is enabled
    On the PC:
    Map a network drive
    \\10.0.0.1\Share
(your IP and the share name)
Make sure you check the box to use another account or user/password
It will then ask you to enter a password.
In general, the above should work.
There are some cases where it requires a few other tricks.
    Good Luck

  • How do I connect my laptops so I can print from them?

I just purchased the Canon PIXMA MG3122 Printer and have it hooked up to my desktop computer.  The problem is that I cannot figure out how to connect it so I can add 2 more laptops and my Ipad.
All of the laptops and the Ipad are wireless which is why I upgraded my old printer.  I needed the new one to be WiFi.
No matter what I type in the help section, I cannot figure it out.  I did try calling Canon, but due to the storm, I guess they closed early.
    Can someone help?
    ~Lauri~

    Hi mysterysinc,
Since the MG3122 doesn't have an operation panel to input your wireless information, to get the printer set up on your first wireless laptop you would need to temporarily connect the printer to the laptop via USB and run the installation CD to set up the wireless.  Choose Easy Install, choose Wireless, and when prompted what type of wireless setup you want to do, choose the Standard Setup.  It will prompt you to connect the USB cable, and then search for wireless networks nearby.  Select yours, type in your network key and click Connect and it should set the printer up.  On the second laptop you'll go through the same steps, minus the USB cable.  When you choose the Standard Setup it should then detect that the printer is already on the network and simply configure the printer driver to use the existing network connection.

  • How do I connect my printer to a new wireless network?

I currently have a MacBook Pro and HP Photosmart C4580 All-in-one printer. I have had the printer a long time, and have since lost the cable to connect it to my laptop, and any paperwork or cds recieved with it.
I have been unable to figure out how to change my printer's settings so it is connected to my new house's wireless network, the wireless test report showed it is trying to connect to my old one in another town. I have a usb cable I can borrow to hook the printer up to my laptop, but would like to be able to just print wirelessly. Is there any way to do so?

If you want to change your existing connection to a wireless network, follow these instructions.
    Open HP Device Manager.
Figure 5: HP Device Manager icon
From the Information and Settings drop-down menu, click Setup Assistant .
The HP Setup Assistant window opens.
Follow the on-screen instructions to change your connection type to an existing wireless network.
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

  • Connecting a laptop PC to a wireless router on an iMac

I cannot get a laptop PC to connect to the internet through a Linksys wireless router I have connected to my iMac. It was working great for a while, but the network disappeared from the laptop's "available networks" box, and I've been trying for hours to get it to work again. The Mac help desk was of no help and said I had to call Linksys, however, I think it is how I have the network or sharing configured. I've changed so many thinks trying to get it to work, I have probably messed all the configurations up.
This can't be that hard. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance

Since you already have the iMac connected, via Ethernet, to the Linksys router, you'll want to disconnect the modem's USB connection to the iMac.
Which model Linksys to you have? If it has more than one Ethernet port, try connecting the PC to one of the Linksys's Ethernet ports and verify that you can get an Internet connection.

    Ian,
there are several ways to 'take' that question : I'm not exactly sure what you actually want to do.. however, the previous post gave some good advice - go to Help and search on 'sharing'. ITMT, There are a half-dozen easy ways to connect the two. Here are a couple :
Connect via ethernet (or firewire for real speed!) - if you use ethernet and have a hub or switch you can simply add your new computer to your network and set up the networking (there are several ways to do this, covered under 'Network' in Help - I just manually give all my computers - Macs and Wintels - their own IP numbers in the 192.168.0.X range, where X is a different unused number - then I know that say 192.168.0.10, & 12 are Wintels, 20 is a G3, 30 is a G4, 192.168.0.1 is my Switch/Router to which the Cable modem is connected etc.. You should make sure your Windows Box has a different IP, too)
Then go to system prefs->Sharing on each Mac and enable the sharing options you want : say file and printer sharing, windows sharing. From your new iMac this will let you choose Go -> 'Connect to server' from the finder main menu, connect and 'add' the drives you wish to have access to (you can 'Browse the Network' for the right Machine - say your Powerbook's Disk Drives. They'll now Mount and appear on the iMac desktop.
    To Top that:-
A really cool additional way (one I use all the time) is to turn on ' Apple Remote Desktop' on your Powerbook and choose a computername and password...
Then, grab one of the many free VNC clients (google for them - I use 'Chicken of the VNC' - but there are quite a few).
Run the VNC Client on your iMac, choose 'New Connection', type the IP (or network name) of your Powerbook, add the password and hit 'Connect'. A Large window will now open containing a complete copy of your PB Screen and give you complete control over it via Mouse and keyboard - just as if you were sitting in front of it. You can run almost anything you like - Browse, grab email, run word processing or database stuff, create/burn Disk images, do Disk Util/first aid runs etc.. You can minimise this window at any time - everything will keep right on running & it'll just sit in the dock ready for you whenever you need to go back [you can do exactly the same to your windows machine - just run a free VNC server on IT... run another VNC client Connection on your iMac and the same will happen - a complete copy of your windows screen, complete control over mouse & Keyboard, run applications etc ... minimise whenever and it'll just sit in the dock].
When those VNC windows are minimised/hidden, you're back to controlling your iMac and have access to any Shared drives etc that you've connected to (via GO->Connect to Server etc...) and can move files around from one place (Drive & Computer) to another as required
When you want to go back and control the PB for a while just DBL-Click the minimised icon in the Dock, back comes the window and you're back controlling the PB again - Switch to Control Windows .. back to iMac... and so on - all without moving from your Comfy chair in front of your iMac - It's an amazing tool.
Search a few of the higher Forums on 'Networking', 'VNC', 'Sharing' 'sharing with windows' (and do the same in Help) and you'll find plenty of detailed answers.
    - And/Or, post back here if you have trouble.
    Best wishes,
    Wayne T
