How do I connect my MacBook Pro to my Network using Ethernet as there is nowhere to plug the Ethernet cable in? What adaptor do I need? then how do I keep everything, docs and emails, synchronised daily?

I have just bought a MacBook Pro and want to synchronise all data (excluding photos and music) and emails currently on my desktop iMac.
First question, how to I plug in an Ethernet cable to the MacBook so that the two can be connected to the same network via the ethernet? Step one of the Apple setup wizard has me flummoxed!
Second question, once I have that sorted, how do I keep the two devices synchronised (data files and email) and how do I keep the email synchronised to my iPhone?
Help!

  • How do I connect my MacBook Pro to an LCD TV (with HDMI and S-Video ports)?

How do I connect my MacBook Pro to an LCD TV (with HDMI and S-Video ports)?  I assume I would need to use the DVI to Video adapter that came with my computer to connect to my LCD tv.  I'm just not sure which port I should use on the TV.  The HDMI port is being used for digital cable.
Also, does anyone know if this can be done wirelessly?

For a 2010+ MBP you can connect with a Displayport to HDMI, which will include Audio.
With older MBP you will need a displayport to HDMI, if you want audio to the actually TV, then you will need to get a cable with either digital out from MBP to the HDMI, or USB audio mixed into the HDMI

You can connect the iPad to your Mac's iTunes and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases, that should copy it over to the Movies part of your library.
Depending upon what country that you are in, and whether the film studio allows it, you might also be able to re-download it on your Mac via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page.

How do you connect you macbook pro to a Sony Bravia tv with a Belkin cord!?!?!?!?!?!?!? We know how to set it up, but what setting do you put your tv on!?!?!? we have tried everything, but it wont work!!!!!!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I have connected my mbpr directly to a Sony Bravia using an hdmi cable, then set the tv to use the corresponding input port, and it works just fine. Have also connected via airplay -> appletv -> tv (with the last connection via an hdmi cable), which also works fine.

You can also go with something like this:
Thunderbolt to HDMI Adapter w/Audio Support
You'll need the hdmi cable to connect the adapter to your tv.
Not all MBP's support audio over the minidisplay port.
These computers supply multichannel audio (up to 8 channels) and video signals over Mini DisplayPort:
    MacBook (Mid 2010) and later
MacBook Air (Late 2010) and later

how do i connect my macbook pro to a tv

Well, since you gave absolutely no information on which model of MBP or which model of TV, it's pretty much impossible to help. No one here can guess what kind of equipment you have, so a lot more information would be needed. You need to look at  your TV manual to find out what kind of port it has and then check on your MBP to see what is needed. This article will help once you figure out the cables/connections:

And, for future reference, your question is about an MBP but you posted in the iMac forum.....

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
If you have the cable, just connect it to both and the desktop will show up on the external display. Then, you can select different modes, changing arrangement in System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement, or using shortcuts > http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5019

Firstly, the HP printer must be connected to the ASUS' network. Then, simply connect your MBP to the network and your printer should be addable in Print & Fax in System Preferences.
