Connect an Ethernet cable between the U-verse router's LAN port to the WAN (circle-of-dots) port on the AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS). Since you will have two routers in series, you will want to reconfigure the AEBS as a bridge. (ref: AirPort Utility > Select the AEBS > Manual Setup > Internet > Internet Connection tab > Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode))

I don't have a DSL or cable modem to access the Internet ... just a mobile WiFi (there is no cable available at our house and the mobile WiFi is our only option). How do I connect my Time Capsule to the Internet via the mobile WiFi?

    LOL!!
I am in Australia and the ISP... I think both the main ones would fit your description to a T.. big T in particular.
Your router is really unsuitable.. if it is only wireless and no ethernet.. just buy an ethernet one.
Do a search on ebay.. 3g router.
But you can get the TC to join a wireless network.
It is a non-standard setup that Apple will not support.. the option is hidden.
If you are on Lion download the 5.6 utility. Go to the wireless set up page and hold down the option key whilst selecting wireless mode.. a new option, join will appear. You can then put in the ssid and passkey of the 3g router.
But please note the end result of this setup..
very slow speed. The TC is now a second wireless hop from your clients.. this will halve the speed.
In this mode the ethernet are deactived.. for reasons only Apple know, they decided you should not use ethernet when doing this.

  • Any way to connect iPod to Windows XP via network?

Is there is a way, app or not, to connect a 2G touch to Windows XP via a WiFi network connection? For instance, once it picks up a WiFi connection, is there any way I can "see" the iPod in network places etc. Mainly I want to do this so I can access my music from my workstation and copy it over (temporarily), if that's at all possible, but I could see the value in transporting other files (I'm aware of air sharing). Thanks in advance.

Darn. Okay, how about the alternative: If I could store some mp3s in a folder on iPod, do you know or suggest the best method to allow me to access it from a computer on the network without plugging iPod in? Thanks agian.

    Hi Colette,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
To find out how to connect your iMac to a external VGA monitor, just take a look at the technical specifications for your iMac which will outline the supported display configurations and connections.
    iMac (27-inch, Late 2009) - Technical Specifications
Mini DisplayPort output port with support for DVI, VGA, and dual-link DVI (adapters sold separately). 27-inch models also support input from external DisplayPort sources (adapters sold separately).
Support for extended desktop and video mirroring modes
Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display and up to a 30-inch display (2560 by 1600 pixels) on an external display
Also, this webpage will help you find a compatible Mini DisplayPort to a VGA cable:

  • How to skip "Connect to Oracle BI Discoverer" window while redirecting URL

    Hi,
When I am redirecting my discoverer plus URL from my UI screen by providing connection details discoverer first open "Connect to Oracle BI Discoverer" window and then it automatically redirecting to reporting window in which report is getting opened.
How can I stop "Connect to Oracle BI Discoverer" window to be opened first. I don't want to open this window because I am directly passing my connection details in URL parameter itself.
While redirecting, only report window should be opened.
How can I do this ?
    regards,
    devang

    Hello Devang
Do you have a copy of my Oracle Discoverer Handbook (available from amazon)?
If so, page 899 covers this scenario.
To help you I have posted the question and answer below:
    QUESTION:
When we choose a connection or enter the connection details at the Discoverer 10.1.2 Plus login page, the screen flickers and then the connections page is displayed again. After this the Applet starts but in a different window. Is there a way to make Plus start in the same window?
ANSWER: By default, Discoverer Plus is designed to launch in a separate window from the connection screen. However, to answer your question, yes, you can make Discoverer Plus use the same connection. To do this, you append the following to the end of the URL:
    *?_plus_popup=false&framedisplaystyle=embedded*
If your standard URL is http://server.my.com:7778/discoverer/plus
    you change this to: http://server.my.com:7778/discoverer/plus?_plus_popup=false&framedisplaystyle=embedded
This time you will see the Discoverer connections page, applet loading, and Plus interface all appear in the same window. You will also see loading messages and an hourglass display as the session starts, loads, and renders.
    Hope this helps
    Best wishes
    Michael
PS. I would urge everyone who hasn't got a copy of the handbook to get one. It is packed with more than 1,000 pages of information, tricks and tips dedicated to Discoverer.

  • How can i connect labview with ge fanuc versamax plc via VISA

There may be variations between models, but I believe all VersaMax support Modbus and GE's own SNP/SNPX serial communication protocols.
    For Modbus communication protocol:
The link here is a good outline of the different options available. If you really want to limit yourself to the option of using VISA, then it's Items 1. and 2. in Khalid's list that are applicable. You might have to modify some of the free LabVIEW Modbus VIs to suit you needs, but they are useful as examples if you have little experience programming a serial driver.
    For SNP/SNPX:
Your options are similar to those for Modbus, except that I'm not aware of any existing free set of LabVIEW VI's for it. With a web search you might find something (I almost programmed one 10 years ago). The SNP/SNPX protocol is/was well documented in a GE FANUC manual which you could get from them (in 1993 it was GFK-052B "Series 90 PLC Serial Communications User's Manual") so you still can write your own set of VIs.
If you don't really need to limit yourself to using VISA, there are ActiveX and OPC drivers available which use SNP/SNPX that you can find with a web search. And you can see here that NI's Industrial Automation OPC Server's do include an object for GE Fanuc Versamax via Ethernet. This would not be the cheapest in terms of capital cost though.
    Good luck.

  • How do I connect the MBP?

    Hey guys,
I'm new to this so bear with me. I wanna connect my MacBook Pro to a Bose system through the optical digital audio on the MBP. How would i go about doing this? Do I need extra cables? If so, which ones?
this is the Bose system I have at home

lol....is it even possible to hook up the MBP to this?
any help would be greatly appreciated
    thanks

From the technical specs it looks like you should be able to use the optical inputs. You need to buy an optical input cable. You can buy an one from Apple here: Belkin PureAV Digital Optical Audio Cable with Mini-Toslink Adapter
After that, you just plug it in and make sure that the Sound panel on System Preferences is set to Line Out. It will say Internal Speakers unless you have a cable plugged into the audio out line.

  • How can I connect my MBP to other devices?

    Hello,
I have a Yamaha DVD Receiver ("Natural Sound", RDX-E700) and would like to connect it to my MBP so I can hear the my music from iTunes through the loudspeakers connected to the DVD Receiver. Every time I try it doesn't work, even if I switch to AUX mode or whatever... I have a cable which allows me to do so on the big TV and DVD player (also Yamaha), but not on my little Yamaha.
    Can you help me?
    Thanks

  • How do I connect a MBP 5.4 to my TV via HDMI WITH Audio

    I got 4 different cables/connectors:
Mini display port to HDMI Adaptor
    HDMI cable
    3.5 mm audio cable
3.5 mm to RCA Audio adaptor
as recommended in this link http://www.macbook2tv.com/
but still get no sound on my TV. Yes, I tryed to change the sound settings but it doesn't show me any other choices than the built-in or headphone?
How do I get the sound to my TV??? Please help!!! THANKS

I make no excuse for the salespeople at the Apple Store (and I don't work for Apple, so my excuses would be lame anyways).  However, you cannot expect them to know everything about everything on the Mac.  It's an obscure point, and if they were hired during the past year, the MDP to HDMI adapter works perfectly.  Think about this:  I use my Mac nearly 24/7, use several programs nearly 24/7, and I barely scratch the surface of this device.  I use an iPhone 24/7, and I hardly ever drop over there, because there's just too many questions about too many obscure issues.
Again, I'm not sure why you're giving up?  This is fixable, it's probably NOT an issue with your Mac or your cables.  It's probably an issues with either 1) input setup of your TV, or 2) older TV with an incompatible HDMI firmware (1.1 say).  You have everything to make this work, so why are you upset with the Apple folks?  You got everything right except the TV setup.

  • How do I connect a dell laptop to my wireless via mac mini?

I have a macmini (non intel) 1.42 GHz, G4 that is connected to my linksys wireless-G 2.4 router. I have a macbook pro(intel)that can connect wirelessly with no problem. However my dell laptop keeps getting bumped off. Any suggestions?
Also, could someone give me step by step directions on how to set my mac mini to only allow the macbook pro and Dell laptop to access the router?

  • How can I connect to oracel-10 using windows authentication?

    Hi,
in Oracle 9 I could do this:
Put the windows user in the group ORA_DBA, then:
    set ORACLE_SID=MySID
    sqlplus /nolog
    connect / as sysdba
With oracle 10 it always seems to ask for username and Password.
Is there a way around this?
Can I log in thru windows authentification somehow like this
    set ORACLE_SID=MySID
    sqlplus /nolog
    connect as sysdba
without now being asked for username and password now?
    How can I accomplish this?
I would not want to specify the password in an sql file; this would be much worse than being able to connect thru windows authentication.
Thank you for letting me know.
    Sincerely
    Andreas

    Hi,
thank you all for answering first of all.
I thought that connecting with the slash as sysdba:
    connect / as sysdba
was an old syntax of oracle9.
But you are right, obviously it is not.
However, oracle10 gives me now the message:
    SQL> connect / as sysdba
    ERROR:
    ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
How come you don't get this message?
Are you using Oracle-9 or oracle-10?
I was logged on as user oracle; and this user is member of the administrators group and also the group ORA_DBA.
How come then that it still throws the insufficient privileges message?
Could you please let me know, what you do differently or what I forgot?
    Regards
    Andreas

If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar.  Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears.
