On the Video it shows a "Facebook Connect" button, but its not on my screen in iTunes under anything I can find...

I had the same problem for days. I reset the phone bu holding down the home button and the on off switch together. Don't swipe to turn off. Just hold down the two buttons until phone switched off then wait a few seconds and switch it back on. I can't also use Facebook on safari which I was also having problems with. Hope it helps

During the initial setup of PIng I was trying to connect it to Facebook but it came back with an error message. I checked the application settings on FB but it wasn't connected. So I went back to iTunes but now I don't have any option to try to connect to Facebook again!?
Any idea how I could "force" Ping to let me connect to FB again?! I was thinking about closing/deleting my Ping profile, but that doesn't seem to be an option either!?
(Even though I think Ping is a neat idea and a good start, this thing has a bunch of major flaws that Apple needs to address asap, before people start moving away again!)

Shouldn't this thread be moved to the Bridge or Lightroom forums, thats the only way I know how to create a connection, unless Elements has a way.
As far as manually doing so, photoshop can save jpg or png files which can then be uploaded via a web browser which can be connected to the facebook albums.

I got ping earlier today, and i was asked to connect to facebook. i tried and after multiple attempts it still wasnt working, it would never load. Eventually, i found out that the apple servers were overloaded with people trying to upload photos and connect to facebook. Then i got the message (U.S. members are not allowed to connect at this time) or something along those lines. Now its completely gone. I believe apple will get their servers up and running overnight and give the capability back to everyone in a day or two. For now, you will just have to live with twitter and facebook.

I know I saw Facebook integration in the keynote, how do I connect the two? I can't for the life of me figure it out and I'm an engineer. This is one of Apples rare poorly designed features. I want it so that when I like something in Ping it shows up on my Facebook profile.

Apple marketed Ping as a social network, without the social network it's just a primitive combination of twitter and myspace.
It would not have been hard to compile iTunes without Ping until it was working, they still could have release iTunes 10 for the new iPods. I guess I'll shut it off until it does what it's supposed to.

I have checked that the firmware has been updated to 7.6.4 . Similalrly the Win8.1 machine has been loaded with the update specified in another discussion.

Firstly how are you connecting to the TC.. wireless or ethernet?
Please open a command window and ping it.. ping by name and by IP address.
If ping succeeds at least by IP it should work.
In windows explorer type
\\10.0.1.1 (or whatever the TC ip is.. that is the default).
Having the airport utility for windows loaded can help the process. As it loads bonjour for windows.
7.6.4 firmware on the TC is useless. It works better on 7.6.1
If the ping does not succeed by either name or IP address yet you have internet through the TC, then your network is setup wrongly. You are have firewalls blocking local IP. Take down all the firewalls.

When you go to Settings > WiFi, does it show that you are connected to your WiFi network? (If connected, a check mark will appear next to your network name.)
Where does the "loading" statement appear? How do you just get loading if you are connected to the Internet via cellular data network?
Have you tried any other application that uses the Internet like Yelp or a bank app? What happens there?
I wouldn't try the 5.01 update until you solve the connectivity problem! It's a very large update.
You cannot compare yours to your sister's. Just deal with yours.
Observations that may or may not help in your case:
1) Sometimes WiFi doesn't work well even if connected if the cell signal is very weak or "o" (vs 3G) shows.
2) Sometimes connection via cellular does not work if connected to WiFi but WiFi signal is very weak.

I can now ping to one or two ip address. So it seems the network card is working.
As I am a complete beginer, and idiot to boot, how do I connect this device to my Netgear wifiswitch router?Obviously I am only using the switch not the wifi.
My machine has ip 192.168.0.2.
The Netgear has ip 192.168.0.1 and has NAT enabled. It sees my machine attatched and this is included in the setup access list.
It tells me the DNS servers are on
194.68.4.100 and 194.168.8.100.
As my system is a due boot one,I know this setup works in windows.
I have tried to set up the card with a gateway(192.168.0.1) and the two given DNS addresses.
But firefox doesn�t see a thing .
I am not sure if I have set up the NIC correctly. How do I test this?
or better still how would you set this up? Remember I am very stupid.

I'm not fully sure what you've done so far. Have you set up your machine with a static address or DHCP?
If Solaris didn't detect the network card when it was first installed (because no driver), then it didn't go through the network setup stuff. If you would like to redo that rather than setting everything up manually, run 'sys-unconfig'. It will reboot the machine and then ask for network setup stuff as you reboot.
If you're doing DHCP, it should already have configured a gateway (what do you see in the output of 'netstat -nr'?
Did it create entries in /etc/resolv.conf? If so, you may need to verify that you have a 'dns' entry in the 'hosts' line for /etc/nsswitch.conf.

Finally, I have a "clued in" boss who wanted a Macbook air. I have it, and I can get to the internet by supplying the correct proxy credentials. My issue is trying to connect him to windows shares on my network? I know how to do this cold for adding a PC, But need some 101 on how to take this awesome macbook air and add it to the domain and how to get connected to various shares within my DOMAIN. as well as use network printers (I assume that is pretty easy). . . I should add that I can ping the servers in question, I am just not familiar with how to connect to them via Mac. . .I am sure this is laughably easy, I am the king of making things difficult, I swear!

I asked my friends on Facebook and one came up with the answer... I just had to flip the little "ring-silent switch" on the side of the iPhone to cut the "Pinging" sound! There's probably another way but this works!
