You need a airprint enabled printer to print documents directly but there is also an app on the app store called print central pro which lets you connect to any printer over wifi or over google cloud print.
    Hope this helps :)

how do i connect to the network off my itunes? its saying theres no interenet connection even though there is

Yes and I do understand that! Thank you. There is no option to do an auto channel. Its 1-11 or 36, 40, 44 or 48. Then when it asks for a security its 40 bit WPA or 128 bit WPA. Unsure what that means? If I choose either of those Security options I have to have a certain number of characters for my password, and neither of those options fit the password that was given to me.
    Any suggestions?

  • Can't connect to my printer over network anymore

We upgraded to ox10.9 and since then we can't connect to the brother laser printer connected to our other computer. I went to brother's web site and downloaded the newest driver and now when I click on "add printer" it's not even there. I don't know what to do. I reset my printers and it's still not showing up... only if I connect it via a USB. Before 10.9 I could connect to the printer over bonjour because I was connected on my other lap top..
    any ideas?

I figured it out. I had to create a new location on both the Powerbook and G5 and click "Apply Now". Then the PB showed up as a server on the G5.

  • C7280 AIO won't print over network. Was working on WiFi, still works on USB.

My AIO quit printing over the network after 2 years of service. The USB port still prints OK. My Linksys utility still sees the printer, and I even get ink levels back, but print jobs are hung up in the queue with status 'Error - Printing'.  I tried a wired ethernet connection and got the same result, so it's not a wireless problem, but rather networking in general. The network report indicates everything is normal, but I still can't print. I re-installed the driver but that didn't work.
I am running Vista, and the printer had been working fine till two weeks ago. My wife would use the USB port to print, and she said she got updates for the printer. HP doesn't distribute f/w updates for the printers themselves, does it? It's as if the networking f/w in the printer got hammered.

    No joy.
I'm connected with Ethernet port. I have disabled the firewall. The IP address matches on the printer's network status report, and on the Printer dialog box on the computer. I can see that the printer is connected when I run a Linksys utility. I can get the ink levels and I can print an alignment page.
But I can't print a document. About 60 seconds after I initiate the print job, the status changes from 'Printing' to Error - Printing'.
I clearly have connectivity, but something is preventing me from sending a document. Any ideas to try, or tests to run?
I think the same behavior occurs in wireless mode, but I think I have a better chance with a wired connection right now. As I said, USB works OK.
    Thanks,
    SWW

  • Problems printing over network

i have a macbook pro and a macbook air running os x 10.5.8 that i usually print with over my wifi network to a kyocera mita fs-1010 that is connected by usb to a powerbook G4 running 10.3.9. the past few weeks there have been problems.
at first when i printed something it looked like the doc was spooling to the printer but then nothing came out the other end. i tried uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, and the printer over LPD and IPP but it didn't improve.
i found this kb article http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2275 and ran the terminal command
    cupsctl BrowseProtocols='"cups dnssd"'
next time i went to install the printer, the fs-1010 was there in the default list, i added it and all worked fine.
until today, the fs-1010 has disappeared from the printer list & i can't add it back & it's not showing up if i run the terminal command.
what may be the problem, and can anyone please help with a fix ?
    thanks.

Well there must be something blocking the cups broadcast. Do you have the firewall enabled on any Mac or router? When the browsing is set to Bonjour, these packets will typically be allowed to pass through the network. But since you had to change the broadcast detection method to include CUPS (to support 10.3.9), then maybe this is being blocked between the PowerBook and the other Mac's?
If there is no firewall blocking, then another possible cause could be IP addressing. By default, Mac's on the same subnet as other Mac's will receive information being broadcast about shared printers. However, if the Mac is on a different subnet to the Mac sharing the printer, then the packet will not be seen. To resolve this you can ensure all Mac's are set to the same IP subnet (typically the first three numbers of the IP address).

  • Photosmart D5160 printing over network

I have a Photosmart D5160 connected to a Dell desktop PC running Windows 8.1 64bit, and 2 laptops, a Toshiba running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit and a newer Sony running Windows 7 Pro 64bit.
From the Toshiba I can connect to the printer over my wifi network and print happily.  And this used to be the case for the Sony laptop as well, but recently that has changed.  I can still connect to the printer connected to the Dell over wifi, but I cannot print.  The print jobs get stuck in the Sony's spooler and eventually disappear without printing.  If I connect the printer directly to the Sony it works fine.
I have tried deleting and reconnecing to the printer over the network.  I have tried running the Printer Install wizard, but that doesn't find the printer if it's not USB connected.
Comparing the properties of the printer on the Toshiba and the Sony, the driver list is different - partly because the Toshiba is 32 bit and the Sony 64 bit.  But the driver list on the Sony is the same for the printer whether it is USB or network connected.
    Help please!

Oh, and Print & Scan Doctor only finds the USB connected instance of the printer, not when it is connected over the network

  • HP LJ CP1215 Unable To Print over Network Sharing

I'm having trouble with my CP1215 printing over the network via microsoft sharing. It was working fine and then one day stopped working. I've already removed it and re-installed it on the remote PC with window XP and removed a re-installed the physical connection and the software and drivers on the host PC with Windows XP, as well. The host computer has no trouble printing anything. The remote computer can't even print a test page. When I send a job to the printer from the remote computer it appears in the print queue on the host computer as "Printing" but hangs there for a minute or two and eventually disappears and nothing happens on the printer itself. Firewalls have all been turned off/disabled during tests, as well. Anyone have any ideas?

    bcoffee wrote:
No one has any ideas on this? From looking around in Google a bit, this seems to be common, but no one has had any answer for it yet.
I just talked to HP.  I had to set the cp1215 as the default printer on my wireless laptop for it to print.
As long as it is set to default printer it works fine, but if something else is the default, it goes to the cue and eventually disappears without printing.

  • Power Mac Dual 1.8 Ghz: How do I connect to wireless network?

    HELP!!!
I have this Power Mac Dual 1.8 Ghz with 10.4.11 OS. I used to use wire cable to connect the internet, but now the place I rent recently only provides wireless network. I was able to connect wireless network with my Windows Laptop.
Question: How do I connect my Dual 1.8 OS 10.4.11 with wireless network? I only see Internal Modern, Built-in Ethernet and Build-in FireWire options.

You can go the OWM route and get the airport extreme card and antenna

Google the part numbers for more vender choices,
Or, you need to get a PCI WiFi card and antenna. BDAqua or Japamac have posted alternatives which are actually a little cheaper than the Apple parts.
The third alternative is a USB-based wireless adapter.

  • Looking to buy Time Capsule. What is the best way to connect printer to network?

Looking to buy a Time Capsule. I have a wifi canon printer currently. If I connect the printer to the Time Capsule via wifi will it be shared the same as if I connected the printer via USB? I would like anyone who connects to my network be able to use the printer. I want to know the best way to configure it so that is easy to connect. Thanks
    Dustin

If I connect the printer to the Time Capsule via wifi will it be shared the same as if I connected the printer via USB?
Yes, assuming that the printer is located where it can receive a strong wireless signal.
I would like anyone who connects to my network be able to use the printer. I want to know the best way to configure it so that is easy to connect
Follow the steps provided by Canon to install the printer and have it "join" the wireless network that will be provided by the Time Capsule.

  • Connecting printer disconnects network

    HP-print-laserjet1102/ system 64 pit/ wireless network, homegroiup.
When I connect the printer, the network connection is turned off. When I reconnect to the network, the printer connection is turned off.
I have installed the firmware update.

Can you verify that the printer has a wireless connection from the printer to your network by checking that the blue colored LED is lit (on the top of the printer).  It should be lit and not blink.  If it is blinking your computers might still be able to see it but not connect correctly.
You can also print a configuration page and check that the printer has a valid IP address.
Press and hold the product cancel button until the ready light
blinks, and then release the button to print the configuration page.
The install instructions here might help as well.

  • New HP LaserJet Professional M1212nf MFP Will Not Print Over Network

We have a new HP LaserJet Professional M1212nf MFP. I've assigned it an IP address, static, and it pulls up on it's web interface. I loaded the printer for network printing on our Small Business Server 2003 and installed it on several PCs. No matter what we do, it will not accept a print job, even the test page. Nothing sent to it will print. I've checked print spoolers, drivers, etc. Nothing seems out of place. Any suggestions?

  • Windows 7 64-bit cannot find HP C5280 printer over network

I've had this working under the same conditions for several years, same computers, same printer, same network configuration.  One day, my computer stopped being able to print to the network computer, coming back with errors.  I uninstalled the printer and when I went to reinstall, it cannot locate the printer at all.  Everyone else on the network can see and use the printer, I can see and access the computer that it's plugged into, but going through the add a printer wizard, even specifically going into that computer manually, it sees no printer.
I've run through the Microsoft Fixit, no results.  I've run through the HP Network Troubleshooter, no results.  I've rebooted all computers in question, no results.  It's not a networking problem, as I said, because I can fully access every other computer on the network.  The printer has been verified as shared and operable from every other computer on the network.
    Ideas?  Thanks.

Check that printer sharing is still enabled on the host computer.  If it is, let's delete and re-add the printer on the host PC:
    1. Unplug the printer's USB cable.
    2. Go to Start > Control Panel > Devices and Printers and delete all instances of the printer.
    3. Plug the printer USB cable back in and wait for the PC to re-add it.
    4. Once it is re-added, right click the printer and enable/setup Printer Sharing.
Try again from the ohter PC(s).

    cannot connect printer to network

    Hello Zentile,
I'm sorry to hear that you are having an issue but i'll need some more information to get that printer connected.
    1. What type of printer do you have?
    2. Are you using web services? if not you may want to re post your question on the "Other printing questions" forums or visit "Hp Support" which will have the printer manual  for better results as these forums relate more to iPrint,ePrint, Print Apps, Google Cloud Print and other web services.
    3. Is there an error message causing the issue?
