How do I connect to DPC3941T gateway in bridge mode

I switched my newly installed Cisco DPC3941T Gateway into bridge mode to avoid "double NAT" with my own wifi router. How do I connect to the Gateway to view the setup, save the configuration or switch back to router mode? When I had an ARRIS gateway (without a wireless feature and only a single port) it was essentially a bridged router, but I could still connect to it using this address: http://192.168.100.1/cgi-bin/status_cgi There must be a way to connect to this new Gateway for maintenance/changes too.

When a router/gateway + modem is bridged, it loses it's UI and acts soley as an ethernet out to another router. That is what bridge mode means.  It becomes the connection between the ISP and your new router.   Options:1)  Connect the modem to your PC via ethernet.  Make a new connection to the internet in windows, using an always on connection without a user name and password.   Network and sharing center ->  Connect to a network.2)  Connect the bridged modem to a router, and then set up the router via ethernet and then set up your wifi on the router or use the LAN.3)  Flash the firmware to reset the modem to factory settings (a little tiny recessed button with a little hole.  While plugged in, press the little recessed button for 45 seconds, and then unpower the modem.  Wait 45 seconds and power the modem back up. Those are you only options.

It is a web based application and the tool i m using is Java Servlet....Kindly elaborate your Application Structure means, you are using some 3rd party SMS GATEWAY or
you are using Mobile as SMS GATEWAY
I want to know that how can i connect the application to SMS Gateway....There are various methods for that. But according SMS GATEWAY provider you have to use it.
Is it possible to do using servlet. If yes please let me know....Possible

  • Problems with XB3 gateway; it won't connect to internet properly in bridge mode

I recently moved to a new area and had to replace my old gateway from the other comcast franchise with a new one.  The new one has built-in wifi.  Ever since I got the new gateway, my connection has been slow and unreliable, especially when more than one person is trying to use a computer at once, and I do not like that this wifi is interfering with the setup I was previously happy with using my airport time capsule as a router, with my old airport express in bridge mode for airtunes use.  In that setup with the same people and devices and use habits I did not have these problems. I looked for directions on how to disable the built-in wifi (I also don't like just putting out connections I do not use, it feels like a waste of my signal and a security risk!) and followed the instructions i found on this forum which seemed very simple.  I logged in to the gateway and turned bridge mode on, restarted everything, switched the time capsule back OUT of bridge mode... and my time capsule and airport were all green, as well as the online login to the gateway saying it was connected to the internet, but my time capsule showed that there was no internet connection and in terms of loading web pages... deifnitely the time capsule was correct in that I was not getting a connection.  My computers and devices weren't showing up on the gateway's page as "connected devices" either. I've tried multiple times, reset everything multiple times, and rechecked directions but for now I had to re-enable the wifi and suddenly i can get online again.  (And no, it's not that my computer is actually using those netowrks - I'm on my Time Capsule's network and checking the status through the airport utility.) I really want to get this extra wifi disabled and see if that resolves my crappy connection problems because the service is just useless in the evening as it is now! If anyone knows what might be wrong, I'd appreciate the help.  Everything should be on pretty standard settings as far as my Time Capsule and Airport go - Airport is just in client mode, TC has to be in bridge mode when the other wifi is on or I get errors, but i haven't done anything fancy with any of its settings.

Hi, since you have 2 Linksys devices and it's hard to pinpoint the exact problem. You might the try doing changes on both Linksys devices.
    WRT54GX2
    - update or reflash the firmware
    - change the channel from auto to 11 or 1
    - change the beacon interval value to 50
    WMP54GX
    - download and update to the latest drivers

  • How do I determine if my router is Bridge Mode capable

I have a linksys WRT 54G router that I wish to have Bridge Mode capability. How can I determine if this router has that capability.
Linksys Article ID: 24583 describes the procedure to turn a unit that is bridge mode capable into bridge mode, but which numbered ports of the router have Bridge Mode capability.
    Thanks for any help.
    Solved!

WRT's Linksys firmware doesn't support bridge mode. You will need use a 3rd part firmware like DD-WRT.

  • Share Airport Connection to Ethernet port in BRIDGE mode?

I've been trying to do this for a while now, but I haven't been able.
I have the modem form my ISP hooked to a Airport Express configured in BRIDGE mode, thus creating a wireless network for my home with "live" IPs for all the computers (yes... I know the security risks...).
My G4 (across the room) gets Internet from it's Airport Card and I configured the Share Internet preference pane to "Share the Internet Connection from the Airport to the Ethernet Port", so I can create (...extend, really) a WIRED network from my G4's Ethernet Port.
The thing is that I want this wired network to have also "live" IPs, but the Airport Card always has the "Distribute IP Addresses" (or it's equivalent, from the Airport Admin Setup) activated, so it provides a 192.168.X.X network and I can't find a way to turn that off.
In other words, I want it to acts as a BRIDGE and not as DHCP Server.
    Anyone?
    TIA

I was trying to use IPNetShareX to configure it, but I didn't find a way. I'll keep looking...

  • DPC3941t Gateway - Port Mapping

After swapping out my TC8305 gateway for the DPC3941t yesterday, I changed the local IP configuration from 10.0.0.1 to 192.168.1.1, as my home network is configured that way.  My NAS and security cameras did not reconnect, and I did a hard reset on them and reinstalled with their setup files.  After the first one was installed and working properly, and I was able to access it, I tried to access the gateway home page and it was blocked.  I restarted it and was then able to log in.  I installed the second camera and the same thing happened.  The event log showed 88 entries of port mapping and port deletion.  I was told by tech support last night to hard reset the gateway and start all over.  I did the reset and am back at 10.0.0.1, with my NAS and cameras unreachable.  The NAS and cameras worked fine on the TC8305, and the TC8305 worked fine until the last upgrade.   They scheduled a technician to come back tomorrow but they don't do router configuration, only swap one out for another.  Is there any fix for this other than my going out and buying a separate modem and router?  Thank you for any enlightenment out there.  Kat.

My personal recomendation is to your your own high end router so you are in complete control of your network settings and port forwarding.  If you don't have Comcast digital voice phone service, then you certainly can purchase your own modem also.  If you do have CDV, then get the gateway place in bridge mode and connect your own router to LAN port 1. You will always be fighting this situation if you keep Comcast's gateway, which is deigned for basic internet funtions.I tried to work with the Comcast equipment due to my history of buying modems and routers that quit working shortly after their 1 year warranty expired.  For the last 7 years, when a modem quit working, I called Comcast and they brought me a new one.  I upgraded routers several times, never spending too much on one.  I had the TC8305c gateway for the past 2 years and never had a problem with it until last month.  However, now it is time to go back to the two box system.  You are absolutely right. I bought an Arris/Motorola SB6183 modem and a Netgear WNDR4500 router yesterday.  Due to Murphy's Law, I did the setup backwards.  First, I put the gateway in bridge mode.  Then set up the router.  Then I disconnected the gateway and connected the modem to the coax, and ethernet to my computer.  Did the activation through the browser, shut down the modem, connected the router and powered up both boxes.  Everything is working fine.  The NAS and the security cameras came back online without any reconfiguring.  The guest network is on. Everyone is happy.  Took less than an hour. Thank you for pointing this out to me.  I hope the modem and router last longer than the 90 day warranty.  I bought the protection plan, although they won't bring me a new one like Comcast did.  Wish me luck.   Kathy

  • Port forwarding but can only connect to wifi in Bridge Mode

    Hi
Our ISP is TalkTalk and we use their Fibre service which connects through a BT Open Reach Modem.  The TalkTalk router seemed to causing drop outs in wifi on my macbook pro so I bought an Airport Time Capsule for the wifi router and to back up my mac.
We aren't issued with PPPoE details and the advice from the TalkTalk community was to connect with the Router in Bridge Mode.  This has worked a treat with the various Apple and non Apple items we have in out house except one.
We have security cameras which we control through a Windows laptop and can view one out phones.  To make this happen we have to set up port forwarding. However, we can't do this as it's in Bridge Mode (as far as I understand).
I'm afraid my knowledge of these things is very basic so I'm hoping that someone will have an easy answer to this.  Anyone got any advice on how I can make this pretty white box do its stuff please?
    Thanks in advance!

  • How do I set up Full Bridge Mode for port fowarding?

How do i go about setting up Full bridge mode, for port forwarding on my Airport extreme's ? I Have two working to get coverage in my house, but I guess they need to be bridged together

For most routers, including the AirPorts, bridge mode disables both the NAT & DHCP services. Since NAT is disabled, all of the firewall ports on the AirPort are open and thus port mapping/forwarding would not be reqiured. Therefore if you configure your AirPort as a bridge, the port mapping optios will not be available.
Since you have two AirPort routers, you would only need to configure the AirPort that is NOT in bridge mode for port mapping to allow communicaton coming in from the Internet. This would typically be the AirPort attached directly to the Internet.

  • Share Connection or Bridge Mode?

Hi - I recently got a 1TB Time Capsule to hook with my Verizon DSL modem. My modem is set up using PPPoE with username/password. The past week I had it set up as to Share Connection. What's the different between Share Connection and Bridge Mode in TC? My modem does DHCP and distribute IP addresses. The only problem I saw was when I set up TC to do the share IP addresses, I got the Double NAT error.
So my real question is: with Verizon DSL modem, should I use Share Connection or use TC in Bridge Mode?

After much confusion with Verizon's Tech Support, I finally gave up and canceled my DSL and went with Comcast - which made things so much easier. Once I reset the TC and got Comcast hooked up, I was up and running. I'm sending the modem/router back to Verizon. Thanks for answering my post - I'll remember that.

  • How to deploy connection (Mac OS X Yosemite to Windows RDS) through the RD Gateway with Two Factor authentication (Safenet OTP) on Session host?

    Good day!
Could you please help me? How to deploy connection (Mac OS X Yosemite to Windows RDS) through the RD Gateway with Two Factor authentication on Session host? How to open an authentication dialog that is the same as in Windows when logging on to network resources
    in Windows (Windows Security)?
Our test environment: We have one RDS 2012 R2 server (all roles in one) and one session host in collection. On the session host installed Safenet Network Logon and it under GPO which disable all authentication, only OTP.

    Hi Sir,
It seems that you are going to integrate 3rd party product into AD for authentication .
I would suggest you to contact the vendor of Safenet for this deployment  scenario  :

  • How can i connect a hardware VTEP gateway to a NSX controller?

I have a hardware VTEP gateway which supports OVSDB configuration but there is no SSL support over OVSDB. Can  anyone suggest is there a way to configure the hardware VTEP to the controller without SSL.
What about the idea of using a intermediate node which can act as a SSL gateway betweent the controller and the hardware VTEP?

    Just for other readers:
Hardware VTEP allows L2 VXLAN/VLAN connectivity.
That's for the use case where you have VMs on a VXLAN logical switch (10.1.1.11/24)  and you want them L2 connected to physical servers on a VLAN (10.1.1.21/24).
NSX offers native VXLAN/VLAN connectivity too:
    1. with DLR bridging (used for Logical/Physical L2 connectivity within a DC)
    2. with L2 SSL-VPN (used for Logical/Physical L2 connectivity with a remote location)
NSX-v 6.2 (planed early Q3) will support Hardware VTEP.
Contact your physical switch vendor to see if it will support integration with NSX-v.
    Important Note:
HW VTEP will be incompatible with NSX Distributed Logical Router function. In other words the subnet (10.1.1.0/24) extended from Logical (VXLAN) to Physical (VXLAN) via HW VTEP won't be able use a dist L3 (only central L3).
When using NSX-v 6.2 native VXLAN/VLAN bridging, you'll be able to combine VXLAN/VLAN bridging and still enjoy Dist L3 for that subnet.
