How do I connect to Windows with the Firewall turned on?
I'm able to connect to the 2 Windows boxes on my home network with ease when the firewall is turned off. Once I turn the firewall on, I'm unable to connect. *What do I need to do to have the firewall on and still be able to connect to these computers?*
Well, I think I figured it out. Under Preferences-->Sharing, I clicked "File Sharing." Then I clicked the "Options" button in the lower right and selected "Share Files and Folders Using SMB." When I went back to the Firewall control under Security, File Sharing (SMB) was listed as having access. Seems to work now.

Connect the device to the computer.
Right click on the device in iTunes and select Transfer Purchases.
Why would you lose any content by syncing with iTunes?

You might consider itunes match for moving CDs you've copied into your itunes library if you dont have a way to use home sharing.
iTunes match is an optional service offered by apple that costs about $25 a year. It scans your music library and if it finds music that is already in apple's itunes catalog it'll automatically "unlock"/"store" these in the cloud for you. While updating my iphone 4s to ios6, I had to restore it. Now every time I connect to itunes, I get the "Set Up Your iPhone" window with the set up as new iphone and restore from backup options. After the restore, I got everything except my apps and music back. Do I need to set the phone up as new again?

I Just purchased a 21.5 iMac and connected it to the Internet using a apple air port router. How do I connect my windows PC to my air port router so I can transfer files.
It makes life easier to install the airport utility for windows.. which has a couple of different apps in it.. if you airport is new type then the utility is too old.. but is still valuable for Bonjour which provides network information for shared devices in the apple world to windows.. and a disk access agent..
It will also help the Apple computer access shared directory in the windows computer.. nowadays this is pretty easy. -
