do it like nothing is different.
be sure to have an external trackpad keyboard or mouse as you will loose them on the computer once it is closed.

  • How much is a video cam

how much is a video cam for a computer

    Hi TaunaNoonan,
Webcam technology continues to amaze me as it progresses. The quality of video you can get with newer webcams is astounding. With that said, the quality of picture and video you’ll receive from a webcam is pretty heavily determined by the price point of the webcam.
By visiting the link xl shared above, you can see all of the webcams we have available on BestBuy.com. Webcams generally start around the $20 price point, and can get upwards of $100 and higher. The higher you go in price-point, the better resolution of video you’ll receive, which will overall give you better video quality! If still images are something you’d be using the webcam for, be sure to pay attention to the amount of megapixels the webcam has, as that will determine the quality of the pictures you take. Again, higher price point equals better still image quality.
I’d also suggest keeping an eye on our Deal of the Day as I have seen webcams pop up from time to time.
Thanks for posting, and let me know if you have any other questions!

  • HT201177 My Face time device is working, but I can't make a Skype video call. How do I connect the camera when I am on a Skype video call?

My built in Face time device is working, the green light on top of my iMac is on, but when I make a Skype video call the other party cannot see me, even I can see them. How do I connect the built in camera to my video Skype call? Thanks for your help, Helmut

Assuming you have set up your Preferences correctly in Skype, sometimes Skype doesn't seem to automatically trigger the camera. When that happens just click on the camera icon that appears at the bottom of the screen when making a call:

  • Connecting Video Cameras to Macbook Pro

I have a Macbook Pro and want to capture footage from either a Canon zr100 or Canon GL2 video camera. How many pins do I need on the Firewire cable to connect the two? Thanks.

Both of those cameras have a 4-pin FireWire port (they call it iLink, I believe). Your unibody MBP (which I'm assuming you have based on the forum you're posting in) has only a 9-pin FireWire port. So, you need a 9-pin-to-4-pin FireWire cable, such as THIS ONE (the link is to Amazon, but they are available many places). Older MBPs had both 6-pin and 9-pin FireWire ports. Although the 9-pin port is "FireWire 800" it is 'backward compatible' with FireWire 400 devices like the video cameras you mention.

  • I connect video camera to mac mini, but not detected firewire

i have mac mini. I connect a video camera to my computer via firewire. i try capture video in fcp and imovi, but firewire not detected. when i open imovy and import video, then show the massage "camera not connected". please help me.

No, nothing will show on the desktop - that only happens with card-based cameras (which are usually connected via USB).
But, make sure your camera is turned on, and in playback mode. Do you have another Firewire cable you can test, in case that cable is bad? Try also the tips in this document:

  • How to embed Connect video in webpage without autoplay / autostart

I want to embed a Connect recording from our locally hosted Connect site on our webpages. We use Plone and I've manually added the code:
    <p><iframe src="https://connect.le.ac.uk/p51ud1gxajs/" name="Demonstrating your impact with the h-index" width="800" height="600" align="left" scrolling="auto" frameborder="0"></iframe></p>
This appears to work in testing but the video starts playing when you load the webpage - which I do not want it to do.
How do I have the video embed but not play unless the user selects play?

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm sorry to hear Connect cannot even as an option do what I want it to do. Please could this option be added to a future release?
If I embed a video on a web page I pretty much never want it to play until the user chooses to do so, since there may be other options on the page or they may be doing something else while loading the page. I'd prefer this behaviour to be the default and if not I at least need it as an option if I am to embed videos on webpages.

Does Apple really only let FireWire based video chat cameras run on iChat AV? Is there any possibly way of using a USB-based video chat camera? Do I have to download an earlier version of iChat? If so, where can I get this program?

    help!!!!!

can I import movie clips that I made on my digital camera into iMovie?
Assuming you're talking about the 20-second video capability of a still photo camera, launch the Image Capture application, then connect your camera. Download the movie file to your desktop (your USB connection should work fine for this -- many still cameras don't even have a FireWire connection). Once downloaded, you can import the file into iMovie.
