How do I consolidate my Apple ID to ONE user?

For the past five years I have not used two old Apple IDs. However, somehow, by default? Apple assigned an old ID (my free Apple mac.com. Email address from MobileMe) to my new iPad when I first turned it on a few months ago. This must have overridden the current ID that I always use. I am sure I register it under my ACTIVE AND PREFERABLE APPLE ID.
Now I seem to have no control over this old MobileMe ID. I want it gone and my current ID locked in to all my devices and computers. This should not be so hard to do.
Meanwhile the Apple Store seems to be randomly assigning my preferred ID and/or my old MobileMe ID to my account whenever it can collect fees, or ownership costs. I am being asked to pay for items that I have already purchased.
I also want a very old "log in" email address and password (not used for 10 years) Consolidated under my ONE-AND-ONLY Preferred Apple ID (the one I've been using for at least five years). Until this happens, I am being locked out of my own Apple Store purchases that have been residing on an external hard drive for the past 10 years.
Help needed on all three fronts:
1). Allow my preferred Apple ID to preside over all my accounts.
2) Make my old MobileMe Apple ID disappear after linking it to my current preferred Apple ID.
3) Transfer my 10-year old purchases from an account log on and pass word that have been extinct for a decade so I may access my purchases from my own hard drive.

All media and apps are tied to the Apple ID used to purchase/download them.
If you want the old ID to stop coming up, delete all apps purchased with the ID.
Buy them again under the new ID.
Ownership cannot be transferred from one ID to another.

You don't have to do anything with the first iPod that you don't use anymore. If you are planning on keeping it, put in a drawer in your house and forget about it.
You don't need a second account to use with the new iPod. I use one Appl e ID and iTunes library for two iPods, and two iPad. I have different content on all four devices. You can select exactly what you want to sync to each device and it can be different content on all devices.

No. Unfortunately, you can't combine Apple IDs togetehr, even if you own them all.

Tthe brute force method: start with Settings > iCloud and turn off Find My (you will need the password), then change the iCloud ID, then go to the apps such as Messages, FaceTime, etc, and delete the Apple ID and enter the new one.

ok, what you're learning right now is 101 unix, which is good. Unix is a good thing
now: the way unix works, and macos (which uses unix underneath) the files and folders work like a hierarchy.
the start of that tree is /
so, if you were to do:
cd /
(cd means change directory)
it will bring you at the highest branch of the file system.
cd /Users
will bring you to where all the users are.
to see whats in /Users you can use your friend ls command
ls means list files/directories
so:
cd /Users
ls -la
(the -la here means show all (even hidden) and long format (very verbose)) this flag is very optional.
you will see
fred
user2
for example.
if you want to see the desktop of user2 you would change directory to it then list the files.
for example:
cd /Users/user2/Desktop
Note that the files and directory are case sensitive, so, desktop is NOT the same as Desktop, or DESKTOP

you should then be able to see everything in users2 desktop
you could have done as well the same thing in smaller steps, for example:
cd /

i know it may be confusing at first but it's actually very logical if you play with it.
to simplify, think of it that / means C:\ on windows
you can't go any higher than C:\ (in a way)
if you're unsure which directory you're currently in, you can always type:
pwd
it will tell you where you are.
for example:
cd /
pwd
this shows /
cd Users
pwd
this now shows /Users
cd /System/Library
pwd will show /System/Library
cd /
cd /Users
cd fred
cd Library
pwd will show /Users/fred/Library
unix can look very scary but it's actually vital and very necessary to do tasks sometimes that would take for ever to do via the windows. This is good learning.
so for the myfile you had created, i can't tell you where it is, at the time you created, if you can do a pwd command you'll know the path,
ls -la (this shows all the files where you are)
if you see myfile in the list
do a pwd
whatever is return, the real location of the file would be:
whatever pwd returned / myfile

On her device, log out of iMessage with your AppleID, then log back in with her new AppleID. For iCloud, first go into the iCloud account settings and disable find my iPhone, then delete the iCloud account. Now add a new iCloud account using her new AppleID.
You both can continue to use the same AppleID in the iTunes and App stores if you wish to share purchases. If not, just scroll to the bottom of the feature page in the store, log out with your AppleID and log back in with her AppleID (she will need your AppleID and password to update anything purchased with your AppleID though).

Get her an email address, even if she never uses it. They're free and available almost everywhere. The only requirement is that the address be a valid one.

You can even use an "alias" of yours. That's a fake address that actually sends everything to you. Check with your current email supplier.
