How do I control the event imported photos go to?

I have my iphoto set to manually import photos.  When I chose which photos I want to upload to my iphoto from photo stream I have trouble finding where they

The application does. It's not a user-choice.
In the case of images coming via Photostream: the Event for that calendar month
In the case of images from a Camera: Every import means at least one new Event, depending on the settings you chose in the Preferences.

  • How can I control the order of photos in a Ravel slideshow?

I'm using the web version.  After I uploaded my photos, I discovered that Ravel does not display them in alphanumeric file name order.  Instead it appears to order them by file date.  Unfortunately, I have always altered the file name to set up the order of my photos.  In the future, if I use PhotoShop to manually alter the date of the jpeg files, and then upload them, will Ravel "see" the altered date and change the order?  I've used up my upload limit, so I can't just try it and see.
On a slide note, I tried the method of sharing an album on PC as described in the Adobe FAQ, and it worked pretty well.  Two minor things I'd add:  (1) You have to first click the URL field before the copy, and (2) the URL includes two non-functional characters at the end (#!) that can be deleted from the e-mail.

Yes, as you noticed, the only option for Revel is to sort by date.  If you change the date that the photo was taken, it will indeed change the order.  This is something you can also do within the Revel app, though not currently with the web version you are using.

  • How Do I Control The Order of Photos Displayed by an Emitter

I have a Motion 4 particle emitter which is displaying a sequence of photographs and text (all transparent TIFs), which works exactly as required, except the customer has requested the photographs appear in a particular order. How can this be achieved?
I have tried changing the random seed to see if I could hit the sequence by chance, but no luck!

Great link Patrick, thanks for that! The solution as you suggested is animating the Source Start Frame, and the video make it clear. So the solution is as follows:
Set Random Start Frame and Play Frames off.
Animate the Source Start Frame by setting a keyframe at the start of the sequence with frame one, and then set a keyframe at the end with the number of the last image.
Result: Images which fall through space from the emitter and display in a known order. If the customer wants to change the order of the sequence, then rename the files and re attach to the emitter. Simples!

How do I control the order of all day events in iCal?  Even if I painstakingly try to
re-order the events the way I want them, when they print, they are in a different order.
I have searched other forums and no one seems to have an answer to this.  Has

it is becomign frustrating when I print 2 months worth and ssome events are correct in order and alas some will change when I print again!

How do I reduce the size of photo in iPhoto?  The size of my imported photos from my camera are 2 - 3 MB and for my purpose I need 200 - 400 KB.   Scanned copies of older photographs with a size of 100 to 500 KB work very well.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

File -> Export and make your choices in the Export dialogue.
Jpeg Quality and Size will have most effect on file size. Note that 'Size' refers to the pixel dimensions of the photo.

has details of the options in the Export dialogue.

Any image can only be as large as the Original. With a program like Photoshop you can UpRes an image and get it to a bigger size, larger files size as well, but the actual quality of the image will be degraded, depending on the UpRes system and the original quality of the image.
iPhoto is not the program to be doing that in and I don't think it even has that option.
So I suspect the image you are trying to send isn't much bigger than what you are getting. You can also try Exporting it from iPhoto to yopur desktop and see what size you end up with. If it is still that 209KB +/- file size then that is the size of the original image.

Here's my take on the same thing:
Short answer: the dpi is set when you decide what size you're printing at.
Long Answer: Dpi means nothing in the digital world of your computer. There are no "inches" to have "dots per..." Size is measured in pixels. That's the same on your camera. It doesn't take 10 x 8 or 6 x 4 shots. It takes shots measured in megapixels. For instance 4,000 x 3,000 is a 12 megapixel camera.
Using that example, that shot from that camera has 12 million pixels. So that's how many "Dots" there are. To decide the ratio of dots per inch, you now need to decide the "inches" part. And that's printing. Print at 10 x 8 and the dpi will be 4,000/10 or about 400 dpi. At 6 x 4 then it's 4,000/6 or 660 dpi. Work the other way: Print at 300 dpi and the resulting image will be about 13 inches on the longer side.
So, your photo as a fixed number of pixels. Changing the dimensions of the print will vary the dpi, changing the dpi will vary the dimensions of the print.

  • How do I correct the Event time stamp in iPhoto?

When I updated my iMac to Lion, the Events in iPhoto are no longer sequenced by time correclty. The incorrectly sequenced Events have the wrong time / data stamp. How do I edit the Event time/date stamp to correct the problem?

    Hi LarryHN,
The version of iPhoto is 8.1.2. I found your workaround on other strings, and tried it, to no avail. This issue has happened to three of my Event folders -- all from the same three-week trip. I had each day separated into different events and named consecutively. At some point, I uploaded all those photos to photobucket, and I believe the three troublesome Events perhaps were corrupted in some way after that upload? Regardless, I can't seem to fix it. All of the photos have the correct date (for example, in one Event, all photos are dated 12/25/11). However the date range on the Event is 12/31/09-1/7/12. So, those three Events keep getting sorted out of sequence.
I opened one of the Events, highlighted one photo and selected Create Event. That new photo became a new Event. I re-named it, and dragged all the photos from the old Event into the new Event. ...Unfortunately, the new Event still has the weird Date Range on it?
    Any ideas?

  • When I zoom in on photo using iPhoto, how can I save the zoomed in photo please?  This always looks better than cropping., When I zoom in on photo using iPhoto, how can I save the zoomed in photo please?  This always looks better than cropping.

When I zoom in on photo using iPhoto, how can I save the zoomed in photo please?  I would like a screen shot of my zoomed in photo - is this possible?.  Cropping doesn't give the same effect as zooming in and magnifying the photo.  Any help would be appreciated thank you.  I have an iMac

To take a screenshot of the zoomed photo, press either the key combination
⇧⌘3   for a screenshot of the full screen, or
⇧⌘4   to bring up a selection rectangle: select the section of the screen, that you want to save.
The screenshots will be sent to your desktop; drag them from there to the iPhoto icon in the Dock to import them.

  • Has anyone noticed how much slower it is to import photos from iphone to iphoto

has anyone noticed how much slower it is to import photos from iphone to iphoto in Mac OS.?

How many photos do you have in your iPhoto library? As your library grows, it will take more time to load when the app launches.Personally, I have not noticed any slowdown.
And my question was meant to find out whether you import process had gotten slower than...a year ago, a month ago, compared to other photo apps? Running Mountain Lion..since you upgraded? In the end..what? Hence, I asked.
Try being clearer next time. That way we don't have to beat around the bush when trying to help you.

  • How do I reduce the size of photos to use on website?

Thanks to the helpful person who recommended I use Rapidweaver to build a website, I am slowly getting somewhere. It is so simple and just like Apple applications that I think I can do this.
My problem now is that when I tried to transfer a photo from iPhoto to the draft website page it comes across so large it fills the page.
How do I reduce the size of photos so that I can bring them across? I need to show about 20 photos on the web pages. Do they need to be in a different format and if so how do I change it to the appropriate one?
    Many thanks.
    ibook   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Hi Casuarina,
Go to this site and click on the Desktop Version Quicktime movie for a small tutorial. It will explain everything to you and you can see how you resize right within Rapid Weaver. It's really quite nifty.

  • How can I control the zoom on my mac mouse?

How can I control the zoom function on my mouse? In the middle of working on things my hand will rub the mouse by accident and all of a sudden the context within the screen is large. I have no idea of how to work this feature on my mouse and most times to get it to return to normal, I have to escape out of the work I am performing.

If you are pressing the "Control" button on the Mac keyboard, scrolling up will zoom in and scrolling down will zoom out. You can disable this if it annoys you through System Preferences > Universal Access. If you are using Mountain Lion, it would be System Preferences > Accessibility.
Uncheck the in the "Seeing" or "Zoom" section that says "Use scroll gesture with modifier keys to zoom".  It may be slightly different if you have an older OS X version. I have Mountain Lion and am going off of memory on the older versions.
