How do I convert a MS Word doc into Closed Caption scc (or other) format?

I have already constructed a number of videos and we now want to add sub titles. I have the complete transcript on a word document.
I've seen all the videos on how to do it. But how do I get my content into Closed Caption formats so I can add them?
Any help would be appreciated.

If you mean wanting to work with subtitle "Open Captions" , Premiere pro does not support subtitle Open Captions" right now.
If you are talking about adding "Closed Captions" -- you can add captions from scratch to your project using Premiere Pro. Go File-> New-> Captions and pick CEA-608, CEA-708, or Teletext, and off you go. Go here for more information:
Adobe Premiere Pro Help | Closed Captioning
If you have a lot of captions, I suggest you find a caption authoring solution from a 3rd party -- there are some free/ shareware ones out there. Look around the forums to see what other people are using to author closed captions.
Good luck!

  • Converting 2007 MS Word doc into Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro

When using the Print function in MS Word and selecting Adobe PDF, the MS Word version is converted into PDF format.  Most pictures/images residing in MS Word usually appears in PDF version, however, one particular picture/image is not appearing.  Using the following:
    OS - Windows XP Professional
Reader version - Adober Reader 9
Original image was created in MS PowerPoint 2007 (.pptx) then copied into Word (.docx).

Incidentally, as I told you before, you are not converting your Word files to/into Acrobat or Reader; just converting them to PDF files.

  • How can I convert a pdf or .doc into a url

I want to link a pdf file to a word on a website. I think the easiest way would be to link a url address but I do not know how to get a url address from a pdf or I do not know where the url address can be found. Can anyone help me with this?

    Hi, Chartla2012.
I would suggest you speak to the IT department or service which is hosting your website. Your question is not exactly related to our CreatePDF service.
You can include links in PDF files. Those links can go to any Internet-hosted content, including Word files. In this way, you could have a user open a PDF file in his browser and click on a link in the PDF which will in turn open a Word file.

@Pipeline2007 - which version of Microsoft Office have you got? Older versions of Acrobat aren't compatible with the latest versions of Office, see this link for info:

    Hi olivias,
It sounds like there may be some confusion on your system about what application should be associated with PDF files. You can reset filename associations by following the steps in these articles (depending on your operating system):

Install Acrobat XI (Standard or Pro).
Use Acrobat's create PDF feature for supported file formats (TXT, RTF, DOC, DOCX, JPEG, TIFF and others are supported).
Use the installed Adobe PDF virtual printer to "print" a PDF from any application that can print to an installed printer.

Right. If you are using delegated privs and sudo, make sure that sudo is configured to pass on the PERL5LIB and ORACLE_HOME environment variables at least.

  • Convert multiple files (word docs) to multiple pdf

    Hi,
Is there a script I can use in batch processing to convert about 1500 word documents into pdf? I know it's possible to convert multiple files into one pdf, but this is no good to me. Doing these conversions one by one is going to take forever!
I've tried selecting a few documents at a time and then selecting "convert to pdf" from the right-click menu, but each one requires that you tell it where to save, and then opens the file when it is done.
I need to convert Word files on a regular basis for work, and could really use a batch process for this with so many to do!
I have Acrobat 7 Pro (version 7.1.0) on XP Pro SP 2 at work, and Acrobat 8 Pro (Version 8.1.2) on XP Pro SP 3 at home.
If there is anyway it's possible to do this via a batch process I would really appreciate knowing how!!
Apologies if this has been covered in another thread, I searched but couldn't find anything.
    Thanks in advance :)

I have Acrobat 9 Pro. I can batch convert Word docs to PDFs by doing this:
    1. Open Acrobat Pro. Click File > Create PDF > Batch Create Multiple Files...
    2. A window will open prompting you to add files. Click Add Files > Add Files... OR Add Folders... If adding a folder, navigate to it, and click OK to add it to the list. You can also select a bunch of files and drag & drop them into the Add Files window.
    3. Once you have all the files listed that you want to convert, click OK. A new window called Output Options will open. In this window, select your preferred settings. For me, I want all the new PDFs to have the same filename and be in the same folder as the Word docs, so I choose these settings:
    4. Click OK, and then the batch process will begin running. You will see Word opening and closing. However, you won't have to click Save or anything. You can run it unattended. The process takes a little while, so I usually set up a batch to run, then go to lunch. Once finished, you should have all your new PDFs:
    Hope that helps someone!

    Hi lorrelaws,
Do you receive that error when you try to sign in via Reader? If so, try signing in via the web interface. Did that do the trick?

As has been mentioned Adobe Reader cannot export PDF page content. Nor can it create PDF or manipulate PDF page content.
What you can do is use one of Adobe's online subscription services. Two provide for PDF  to Word export.
    There's ExportPDF and PDF Pack.
