How do I convert a Youtube video into iMovie 13?

I want to take a video from Youtbube and import it into imovie 13 on my Macbook Pro so I can edit it.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

You can't.
Firstly, embedding any video into a PDF file means you have to use Flash Player, which isn't an option on iOS. PDFs cannot contain HTML, period. Secondly, YouTube insists that developers only access the video stream using their own native APIs; you cannot use the multimedia tools in Acrobat or inDesign; there has to be a custom-built Flash/Flex app handling the stream negotiation. Again, that means Flash Player and usually a chunk of scripting, neither of which are going to happen on iOS. It would work in the desktop version of Adobe Reader, but that's it.
For mobile consumption only thing you can do is include a URL linking people to YouTube's website.

  • Where can I SAFELY get download to import youtube video into iMovie?

I posted this in the iMovie section and have not gotten a reply, so I'm hoping you guys can help:
Cnet seems to have some programs that would meet my need to get youtube video into iMovie, but a search on the safety of cnet downloads reveals that many people claim to have gotten malware from there.  The last thing I'd want is to get anything bad on my brand new Air!  Would be grateful for suggestions from various people on a) what program to use b) where to safely download it.  Thank you in advance for helping.

just to be clear: that plugin is for Firefox, not Safari
after installation and relaunch of Firfox, you'll notice the spinning three balls, IF the plug-in recognizes 'downloadable' content - here: a youtube video.
clicking on that (very) tiny, grey triangle offers you some download options (in your language) ....

  • How do I get my iphoto videos into imovie

how do I get my iphoto video into imovie

1- on iphoto menu bar click FILE >> EXPORT and export it in ORIGINAL version to NEW EVENTS folder in MOVIES >> IMOVIE EVENTS >> NEW EVENTS
2- try to open the video you want with quicktime player.
IF IT OPENS WITH QUICKTIME PLAYER:
    - on imovie menu bar click FILE >> IMPORT and then import your movie. iMovie should convert it to a usable format which takes a few seconds and the your video will appear on the new event folder on the imovie screen (below "iphoto videos")
IF IT DOES NOT OPEN WITH QUICKTIME PLAYER:
    - download "MPEG streamclip" or "Handbrake" or any program to convert videos into mov. (i think that's the format quicktime player plays). Anyway, if you use MPEG STREAMCLIP, on the menu bar go FILE >> OPEN FILES >> open the file you want (remember it should be in the "new events" folder because you just put it there in step 1). The video will open on the screen.
    - still on MPEG streamclip, go on the menu bar and click FILE >> EXPORT TO QUICKTIME. This will convert the video automatically.
    - go back to imovie. On the menu bar click FILE >> IMPORT >> MOVIES and select your video from the new event folder.
This is what worked for me... I am no expert, it was all trial and error, but it worked in the end!

  • How to you import youtube videos into iMovie 13?

I want to take a youtube video that a friend of mine put on youtube and import this into imovie 13 to edit it.  I do not have any of the original video that my friend shot...just the video found on youtube.  Thanks.

Attach your iPhone to USB for syncing.
    iPhoto should automatically start.
Import your photos and videos into iPhoto.
Open iMovie. Navigate to the iPhoto Event in the Events list.
    You can edit from there.
(When you open iMovie, it may ask to create thumbnails for iPhoto videos. Say yes and let it run.)

  • How do you put a youtube video into keynotes

    Hi,
I'm doing a presentation using Keynotes and would like to put some you tube videos in it. How do I do that. I've searched in google, but can't find a method that works.

Here's what I just did, and it works:
    1. Open Firefox, which already had DownloadHelper installed, went to youtube, tried to DL a video, didn't work. Strange, because I'm sure I'd DL'd youtube videos that way before.
    2. Looked around on Firefox's site for other add-ons, and found *1-click YouTube Video Downloader 1.3*, DL'd and installed it, and read the directions.
    3. Back to YouTube, clicked on a video, clicked on MP4 (immediately under the video window, on the right). The video DL'd with no problem.
So now I had this MP4 file on my Mac.
    4. Opened KN, made a new test file, on the second slide: +Insert > Choose+, navigated to the MP4 file and inserted it.
    5. In Inspector, I tried 2 different settings, one to start the video automatically after transition, the other to start on click. Both work fine.

  • Convert Youtube video into Quicktime?

I am in the process of learning how to use "Keynote '09" (Version 5.3). Is there anyway to convert an youtube video into Quicktime, so that I can play the youtube video in my keynote presentation? I would not want to purchase any expensive softwares or apps for it because I do not use keynote for business but just for my community volunteer work.

Since Google seems to 'own' all videos posted on YouTube most video extractors for YouTube, once widely available, no longer work.
So your question is really moot at this point - I don't know of any way, now, to even download YouTube videos. You could always use ScreenFlow (or a similar product) to 'capture' the video and sound, but that (according to Google) would violate their terms of use for YouTube videos.
    Sorry,
