I'm trying to set up family sharing. I wish my Son (11) to be able to apply to me for purchases, as a "kid." The account thinks he is an "Adult" and does not offer this opportunity. HOW do I get his iCloud account converted from an "Adult" account into a "Kid" account? There is lots of mail and other stuff that makes the option of abandonment of the existing account undesirable.

Go to appleid.apple.com to manage the ID, sign in. If you are using two-step verification on the ID, select the Name, ID and Email Addresses section, then change the birth date on the bottom right. If you are using security questions instead of two-step verification, select the Password and Security Question and answer the two security question to access and change the birth date. At the present time you may not be able to enter the correct birth date, but you should be able to change it to 1/1/2001, which will have child ID status.

You would create folders under Local Folders and move any messages from the old account that you want to keep into those folders.
Right click Local Folders and select New Folder. Name the new folder and create sub-folders under that if you want to sort the messages further. Then drag and drop the messages or select the messages and select Move To to get the messages into the new folders.
When you have moved the messages and confirmed that they are moved and you can still read them you can remove the old account.

How can I convert a POP account to IMAP

I have a POP account in the form [email protected], and I have just changed my hosting company from one that handles POP accounts only to one where accounts can be either POP or IMAP. The question is: how do I convert my existing POP account to IMAP? My main reason for wanting to do that is to keep the "Sent" folder synchronized so that Mail's sent item folder automatically gets stuff I send through web mail just like it does with my Dot Mac account.
I tried removing the existing POP account; this causes any email associated with this account that has not been moved to an "On my Mac" folder to vanish. When I create an IMAP account, these mails don't reappear, even though the email address is the same. Recreating the POP account, though, brings these emails back to life.
Of course, I can have both account definitions with the POP one having it's "include when automatically checking for new mail" checkbox unchecked, but that's really inelegant. Is there a way to convert the POP account into an IMAP account?

This folder disappears when I check the box to store messages on the server. There were emails in it (the ones I placed there myself). I have now moved those emails to the sent sub-folder under the account under "Inbox". Even with the "store on server" option UNchecked, the emails were instantly duplicated to the server, so that they were present both locally and remotely. I then checked the "store on server box"; this made the mailbox for the account under "Sent" vanish.
To summarize: things appear to work normally now, except that I find it very inconvenient to have to look in two separate "Sent" folders to find emails I've written.

Given you have Premiere Elements 12/12.1. (limit...2 GB 15 minutes, even if you have an extended time account at YouTube...the extended time account applies only to file uploaded to YouTube at the YouTube web site)
If your goal is to get a Premiere Elements 12 Timeline uploaded to YouTube, you have two possible routes....
a. Publish+Share/Social Websites/YouTube and your selection of the preset that matches your Timeline properties
or
b. Publish+Share/Computer/AVCHD with one of the .mp4 preset to export the Timeline content to a file saved to the computer hard drive from where you upload it to YouTube at the YouTube Web site.
For best results, I would suggest an AVCHD.mp4 file instead of the "avi" that you mentioned. What is the video compression that goes with that "avi" wrapper?
As for .mp3, that is a audio file extension, what is your intent on that....an upload to YouTube with just music and with a black video display? YouTube strictly enforces any copyright issues, so please assure that there are none associated with these .mp3 otherwise YouTube will remove them.

If it has Apple FairPlay DRM on it, you can't simply "convert it" to MP3. You must first burn it to a CD, then import it again into iTunes. Make sure your import settings have MP3, and match the native bit-rate of the original track.
If it's a regular AAC audio file, then simply change your import settings to MP3, then right-click the file and choose "Create MP3 Version."

However the only solution I tried was to open the JAR file in winrar and see that its made up of png picture files,
midi music files and class files. Unfortunately when I uncompressed the JAR file , there was NO java file to be seen and the JAVA editors Do not show the class file like a Java file. So why is there no extension Java file in the mobile JAR game ?

Are you saying you want to take existing games and modify them? If the creators allow you to modify their source, then they'll provide you with that source (the .java files). If you're allowed to add things but not modify, you don't need .java files. Just documentation, which, again, the creators should be providing.

I purchased four iPods for my family this Christmas. I have six iMacs just sitting around not being used. I thought that I would turn one into an iPod work station, so everyone can use one computer to recharge and hook up to iTunes 7.

First you need to install a means of printing to pdf from word. I like cutepdf writer ( http://cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp ). Once installed you will print the doc in word and under the printer selection you choose pdf.
Once you have the file you put it in your local site folders and upload it using Dreamweaver. Be sure to link to it from a page so users can get to it and I would recommend giving the link a target of _black so it will open in a new window (see the properties inspector in DW).
