How do I convert an SWF file to a MOV file with Flash 8?

I have all the files that created the SWF (this is something that was developed on my computer, not an SWF I took off the internet)

I haven't seen Flash 8 in a long time. Take a look at the export options if it was already there: Main menu -> File -> Export -> Export movie -> file extension *.mov

  • How can I convert a feature length HD 25fps .mov file to NTSC and preserve the exact duration?

    Hello all
I seem to stumble over a small but significant timeline distortion: I'm trying to convert a full-length feature film file (1:52:07:01) from the source file, which is full HD at 25 fps to .m2v in NTSC for use on DVD. The picture quality is excellent, especially with highest quality settings, but even using Frame Controls, allowing Compressor to choose the ideal frame rate and setting the duration of the target file at 100.000% of the source file, the result has now repeatedly been 7 seconds shorter than the original. (Which, by my estimation, would in fact be about 0.1% out, so more than the tolerance thresold indicated.)
Ordinarily, this might not be a big problem, if it weren't for the fact that the film is subtitled in three languages and this means that from about a third into the film now these subtitles in DVD Studio Pro appear progressively out of synch. (And anyone working with DSP will know how cumbersome shifting subtitle clips is...)
    Any help greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks
    Sebastian

thanks again russ for your help with this - i've been able to solve the problem. i did try your approach, though for reasons which probably have nothing to do with anything, the export didn't complete and i ended up with a file that suddenly stopped, twenty minutes short of the ending.
in the mean time, though, i rendered both picture and sound out at 100.1% of the source file duration (which is the relative length compressor calculated when i used frame controls to set the output file to precisely the absolute lenght of the source file) and this seems to have worked. i now have an NTSC formatted .m2v and an .ac3 file, which are in synch with each other and with the original time line and therefore with the subtitles.
hope if anyone comes across a similar issue, this may be useful to know.
    many thanks & all best

This is how to do it in itunes http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1550
If I view the song in finder, all that i have to do is press command-i and it opens a window. In the section where you view the name and extension I took off the extension (.mp3 in my case) and replaced it with .wav

  • Shake Crashes when using "file-in" on .mov files.

Using file-in on .mov files crashes Shake, worked fine before upgrading itunes. Do I need to get a new codec into Shake so it recognizes the new QuickTime?

upgraded from OS 10.3.9 to 10.4, upgrade fixed the problem. Now QT loads fine into Shake.

  • How do you convert a swf or mp4 file into flv using creative cloud programs?

I am trying to embed a video as HTML5 with Flash fallback into my Dreamwaver site and only have the swf file of the video.
Please let me know if you have any ideas about how to convert a swf or mp4 file into flv, without loosing pixels and quality of the swf file.
    Thank you!

If you have MP4 video, you can use Pickle Player which has built-in Flash fallback for Mozilla.  No conversions required .

  • How do you convert a SWF to JPEG?

We have 10,000 SWFs (and their FLAs), but need to create a
JPEG of each SWF to see a thumbnail of them in a DAM.
Aside from the very manual method (make screenshot of the
SWF, resize it and convert it to a JPEG in Photoshop/Bridge) what
are my options in order to either A) automate this process OR B)
come up with another process using either the CS2 or CS3 suites?
If there is another process to do this, what would this be?
Remember, I am starting with a SWF and I want a JPEG, but I
am keeping both. I have seen plenty of information on how to embedd
JPEGs into SWFs, but I am not interested.
Anyone have any ideas on this topic?

You say you have their FLA's. The image should be in the FLA
right? The original is linked inside as well right so you should
already have the original somewhere that you could work from
instead of going through the FLA file. Now, if you added other
graphics and so forth to in the FLA and want to export that
instead, goto file/export/export image and select JPEG Image.
Not sure if you can automate this though. You might be able
to make an Applescript to do this, perhaps. Otherwise I suggest
getting some interns in there ;-)

  • Aargh! How do I convert to .swf?

We have a client that wants to post some stuff on line. First they wanted .wmv, then decided that wouldn't work. Ditto with QT and Flash versions. Now they are asking for .swf versions, by the end of the day of course. I'm stumped as to how to do this. I have Adobe Flash 3 on my machine, but know nothing about it. I have the On2 VP6 and Sorenson codecs loaded and can create Flash movies. But not .swf as far as I know.
I also have an engineer who doesn't want any new software on the machine till it's been heavily researched, I agree with him but doesn't help my deadline.
    Any ideas?
Also, in my research so far it seems like .swf is mostly geared toward vector based animation, will it work for video and look OK?
    Thanks

Sorenson Squeeze allows you to embed player controls when you encode a swf file. And you can reference an flv file from an swf file. It's not at all intuitive so your mileage may vary. As I said in an earlier post, I spent a horrible weekend encoding and reencoding a piece before I finally found some documentation telling me there was a limit to the number of frames in an swf file. I couldn't figure out why my encodes which were taking at least an hour each were ending on a freeze frame 10 minutes into the piece. Somebody told me this was changed in later versions of flash. Finding a someone who has extensive experience with flash would be very valuable.
There are some flash players available out there. You might try versiontracker. I think your web designer can embed the flv file in a web page that includes some controls. Not really sure about alot of this, but worth some investigation.

  • How to batch-convert 500 pdf pages into individual jpg files?

Does anybody know how I can convert 500 single-page pdf files . . . into individual jpeg (image) files?
They are all in the same hard drive folder (if that helps . . .)
    Thanks

Thank you so much . . . yes, the answer "staring me in the face".
    Great advice.
After combining the pdf files into a SINGLE document . . . I just selected "SAVE-AS" . . . and selected "jpg" as the format.
Acrobat automatically created 500 individual jpg files.
    Thanks again!
