How do I convert DVD to quicktime format?

We shoot HS Football games on a Canon HD camera - they are edited down to about 10 minutes each and processed as DVD. I would like to upload the video to mediafire in QT.
How do I convert? or what do I need?

Handbreak is definitely the best way. It is free and they have lots of presets to choose from. The downside is the conversion usually takes realtime unless you have a powerhouse desktop powermac.

Apple do not have their "own" format. You need to convert your DVDs to H.264 though.

When you make a DNG that's like making another raw file, so you will need to convert the DNG file just like your original raw. Don't use the Save button in the raw converter. That's just a link to the DNG converter. Normally you would click Open instead and then save in the editor as a jpg or other image format of your choice.

If you uploaded your files to http://cloud.acrobat.com, simply click on one of the PDF files, then click 'ExportPDF' from along the top-bar in your browser. This will automatically load that PDF into the ExportPDF system. From there, you can configure any options you may need and convert the file to an .xlsx file.

How to play a DVD in QuickTime first of many questions

Hi, can someone please explain how to play a movie from DVD in QuickTime.
I go to "Ablage" (don't know english word for that) -> open file -> klick on some *.VOB and klick play. But the Movie is very slow and I have no sound.

I also can open *.VOBs from my HD with QuickTime and convert them. They just have no sound and also I can't trimm them in QuickTime.
Since you already have the MPEG2 component, recommend you simply download the free MPEG Streamclip application. It can also load/convert single VOB or entire Title VOB series and allows you to trim, adjust volume, brightness, contrast, and/or saturation levels as well. Quite a handy application whether used alone or in conjunction with QT Pro filters and/or preset options.

Apple burned dvd to quicktime format

someone gave me a dvd origionally created in imovie, then burned from idvd.
how do i make that dvd into a quicktime format.
I tried dvd extractor and only extracted video, not audio

If the creator can't send you the original (.dv) format you'll need some other tools.
Since DVD format is MPEG 2, you'll need to pony up $20 for the Apple MPEG-2 Playback Component.
Use it and the free MPEG Streamclip application to "export" the DVD contents back to the, editable, DV Stream (.dv) format.
This new .dv file can be opened and edited in iMovie or QuickTime Pro.

How best to convert DVD to Xvid or DivX

Hi guys,
I really don't have any idea where to post this question - but I thought I would start here!
I have been searching the community and have found various posts on my issue, but still remain a little confused on exactly the best way to do what I need to do (I may be completely dense as a relatively new Mac user.....).
I need to convert DVDs to either Xvid or DivX so I can put them on a usb drive. I have previously used Handbrake, but it seems that Handbrake no longer allows output to Xvid or DivX?
Any help would be appreciated.

In regards to my non-commerical DVDs (personal videos and the like for my son to watch on a portable dvd player), Handbrake enabled me to output to MP4 and MKV but not Xvid or DivX.
Are you aware of any converters that output to the formats I need to copy the files across to a usb drive (Xvid or DivX?)

Can't really speak for the software personally as I'm not all that interested in video on the move. All I can say is that there have been numerous posts on the iPod forum concerning difficulties with Videora. Whether that's a user problem or a software issue it's hard to say, it seems to have it's advocates and detractors as do most things. Good luck anyway and I'm glad the article was of some help.
