How do I convert from VM Fusion to Bootcamp? Do I have to uninstall everything on the Windows side and then reinstall from Bootcamp?

I have been using VM Fusion for over a year to run a Windows-only graphics-intensive program and it just doesn't work well in the virtual environment--lots of bugs and quirks. It's been suggested that I switch to Bootcamp. Do I have to uninstall Windows 7 from the virtual machine side (and my other program) before setting up Bootcamp, or can Bootcamp find the windows installation I did through Fusion? Any other tips for an easy transition would be greatly appreciated.

You need to reinstall Windows using Boot Camp Assistant. If you had a Boot Camp installation of Windows and wanted Fusion to use it there would be no problem doing so. But a Fusion installation of Windows can not be used by a Boot Camp partition.

Yes, the Old Master file has a folder for each year where I find all photos from that specific year. I am attaching a screen shot of the file.
In the meantime i have managed to download all photos (it did not download any video files though in mpg, avi, 3gp, m4v,mp4 and mov format) to a new iphoto library. Unfortunately the photos are quite mixed and often doubled up. I ma considering to purchase iphoto library which checks all duplicates in iphoto. this will save me a lot of time. What do you think?

My Cox Cable/Telephone splits to a telephone modem and a broadband modem. The BB connects via ethernet to a Cisco Linksys E2500 wi-fi (whatever). Can I plug my usb printer into the E2500, configure, and then print from my iPad?

I have just purchased an iPad 2. I have wi-fi for roku and have connected the iPad to it. I want to print to my usb printer. My connection is: Cox Cable spit to telephone and broadband. The broad band feed goes to a Cox modem and feeds the wi-fi. The Cisco Linksys E2500, wi-fi's the Roku and iPad. Can I USB from the wi-fi to the printer, configure (however), and then print from my iPad?

Okay. here's the deal. First, I received the original Ipad for a birthday present. Now, I have the ipad 2 and my dad has my original ipad. Tap the i at bottom right then Settings > Deregister this device.

The Kindle app is so you do not have to use a Kindle. Yes, he can have a Kindle account and not own an actual Kindle hardware device.

I'd try starting Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit. Every time I click on a web site that has an email option the browser starts making untitled web pages and never stops unless I turn the computer off. It is very frustrating to not be able to use an email option when offered by a web site. The only way I can send email messages on the Firefox browser is to go into my hotmail acct. and copy and paste the addresses. I don't have this problem when I use the Internet Explorer browser.

It sounds like your phone is not successfully booting even though you have reset the device. I would next recommend attempting a backup and restore to iTunes with this article:

How do i save my photo library and then reinstall iphoto 11

Hi Everyone
I was having a problem with imovie which kept crashing so (probably unwittingly) decidied to reinstall ilife 11 to see if that would fix the problem - which it didnt but we will ignore that for now.
A resulting consequence of this action was that the iphoto app has a no entry sign over it and comes up with an error message saying 'you cant open the application iPhoto because it may be damaged or incomplete.
Does anyone know how to fix this???
I have saved my iphoto library to an external hard drive so am now thinking that I should completely delete the iphoto app (and I'm not sure how to do that either) and then reinstall from the iLife 11 disc that I have.
Is this the best way to resolve it as I would hate to loose any photo's, events, and various faces that i have saved etc etc

How can I work around 1316 error that won't let me uninstall and then reinstall Elements 12

Elements 12 stopped working and the shortcut no longer finds the executable file. There does not appear to be a repair function on the installation CD. As a result, I have tried unsuccessfully to uninstall the program using Windows 7 64 bit uninstaller, Iobit Uninstaller, and Revo Pro Uninstaller. In each instance, I get the error "Error 1316. A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file c:\Windows\Adobe\Installer\Adobe Photoshop Elements 12.msi." As a test, I ran Iobit Uninstaller 3 as an administrator, but that was not successful either.Each time, the program rolls back when it detects the 1316 error. I can neither install or uninstall Photoshop Elements at this time.
How can I uninstall the program completely and then reinstall it either from my Elements 12 installation CD or from the same files on my hard drive?

with that one, let's try the following procedure.
first, head into your Add/Remove programs and uninstall your QuickTime. if it goes, good. if it doesn't, we'll just attend to it when we attend to itunes.
next, download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. use it to clear any existing itunes and/or QuickTime installation configuration information from the PC.

How to back up the Windows side of your Apple computer

Hello friends,
As I get more involved in the Windows side of my Apple computer (Macbook Pro Snow Leopartd with boot camp) I am wondering what is the proper way to back up the files I have on the Windows side to an external hard drive? I can obviously easily copy my documents, pictures and videos, but what about the contents of my copy of Microsoft Outlook (all my emails and all my contacts), the copy of iTunes I have on the Windows side and the list of "favorites" that I have in my Internet Explorer (again all of these programs are on the Windows side).
Is there a way to back them up so that if my Apple computer dies, and I get a new Apple again with boot camp and Windows, I can reinstall them on to the new computer and have them functioning just like before (the way one can with programs on the Macintosh side)?

Good to hear about your experiences with Winclone, Paragon’s HDM 2011 Suite and Acronis True Image 2011. Would you mind telling me what it is about these programs that have made them so useful to you? I have looked at their websites online but would love to hear it described in plain words. For example, how do these programs differ from Windows 7’s built-in Backup and Restore and Create a System Image? Do they work better with Windows mounted on Boot Camp?
ScuseMe, when one encounters a problem like you did with the audio drivers, couldn’t you have used system restore to roll the clock back to the point before you installed the drivers? Does system restore not always fix these kind of problems?
Finally, TwoNails, can you tell me what exactly you mean by “yes several drivers had to be updated but it still booted and functioned well”? By drivers do you mean the drivers that control printers and if so, how does one know whether they need updating after you do a reinstall?
