How do I convert iris print profile to direct to print rgb file on g5

Good morning, everyone
I am kind of new at this whole color Management business.
>my question is what is the best way to convert
a raw Photoshop PSD file on a MAC G4
which is profiled to print on an IRIS printer
to a direct print RGB file printed from Mac g5 using an Epson 11880.
> Is there a tutorial about printing profile conversions.
Please help

Porefungus,
Your question isn't very clear, which probably has something to do with being new to color management.  For color management to work, every file has to be "tagged" with a profile, or if not tagged, one needs to be "assumed".  RGB images in Photoshop are usually tagged as sRGB, Adobe RGB, ProPhoto RGB, or some other variant.  This "tag" gives precise meaning to each individual color in the file.  For example. 225R, 40G, 25B is definitely a red, but what hue, saturation and brightness of red?  It will be translated differently depending on which RGB tag is associated with the file.
The same is true of printer profiles.  In fact, these profiles (or tags) are like languages.  In order to understand what someone is saying, you have to start by knowing, or assuming, what language they are speaking.  Sometimes you have someone who speaks only English and someone else who speaks only Chinese.  In this case, you need a translator in the middle who is fluent in both.  That is color management.
If your original file is edited in Adobe RGB (ie, tagged with that profile) and you are sending that file to be printed on an RGB printer (it uses CMYK and other inks, but the data stream being sent to the printer is RGB), you need to have a "profile" for your printer/paper/ink combination that accurately describes what that ink/paper combo is capable of doing.  Then you need a middle man to translate from your source profile (in this case, Adobe RGB) into language that your printer is capable of understanding (ie, printer profile).  That middleman is*L*a*b* color space, the universal translator for ICC based color management.
It is way too involved to get into in depth on a forum, but I have some articles on color management on my website.  Use the link below and click the links to the left of the page to read them.

Real World Color Management is a good book on the subject.  There are plenty of other good resources in books and on the internet.

It is always tough for anyone when we need to save our emails into one file for future reference. You could either do it manually or can use a simple tool to Convert all your messages into one pdf file . This Single pdf file can be used if we need to read any past email. you can easily convert oulook to pdf in no time. If you are converting several email messages, you can either save them as separate files with initial layout fully intact or combine them into one big PDF document.

    NEED HELP !!
    Regards,

The printer has to be known on the server where the Reports service runs.
Also, the user who runs the Reports service has to have access to that printer. If you are running on Windows, Reports Service runs as Local system by default. Change that to a real (domain) user, who has access to the printer.

  • How do you convert to cmyk in aperture 3 for printing business cards?

I'm wanting to make my own business cards and post cards online.  The printing companies want cmyk files.  How do I convert my photo files and pages files to cmyk?  I do not use Photoshop, only Aperture 3.5.1.
Please keep it simple.  I'm an old dinosaur and could be your next tank of gas!
    Thanks

You will need some External Photo editor, and you can get to to invoke from with Aperture.  For the price and function, I can recommend GraphicConverter.  Check it out in the Mac App Store for $39.95.
Aperture will create a new master to send to GC, and in GC you click on Picture/Mode and choose CMYK.  Then simply click Save, and it will now be saved in the Aperture Library as CMYK.
Aperture can archive the CMYK, but not convert it.

  • Printer Profiles not showing in Print Dialog

I cannot seem to see the custom Printer Profiles I have for certain papersin the Print Dialog.
I have added the Print Profiles to Library > Application Support > Adobe > Color > Profiles (and also in Recommended)
But in the Print Dialog under Colour Management > Photoshop Handles Colour > Print Profile - they are not showing. I have done things like restarting Photoshop and converting the image to CMYK from RGB.
I can see the profiles in the Proofing menu and am able to select them.
Any ideas as without using the profiles my colour management is completely off kilter.
Also, can I confirm that I am putting the printer profiles in the correct folder?

Thanks for your response JJMack. I've just found out the problem. It seems that by putting the profiles in the  > Recommended folder as well as in the > Profiles folder this seems to have disabled the profiles from displaying in the print dialog.
I'm not sure why but they are displaying fine now.
I'm new to this forum and I wonder if you know if there is a right place or method for sharing this information as I have spent the best part of two hours this afternoon wrestling with this?

  • How can I convert a Microsoft Publisher doc to PDF when the file size is LARGE?

I have a Microsoft Publisher document that I need converted to PDF. Typically I have no issues converting from Publisher to PDF (and usually can just do it through the "save as" feature in Publisher.) However, this particular file is laden with graphics and therefore very large. I was able to convert it once, but it made some of the graphics as blank boxes. When I try again to convert, it gives me an error message.
Is there a way to conver a LARGE Publisher file to PDF without losing any of the images contained within the document? Please help!

Try emptying the Temp folder. Are you using PDF Maker (not sure that is available for Publisher) or the MS plugin? If PDF Maker, try turning off the tags and reducing the amount of bookmarks needed to a minimum. As an alternative, simply print to the Adobe PDF printer -- will typically give a smaller file and not run into these creation problems for large document, but you will not get bookmarks or such in the conversion process.

How do I convert only selected pages of a pdf file?

One way would be to open the PDF with Acrobat XI Pro. Then from Tools - Pages use the feature that supports page extractions to a new PDF.
Use this new PDF as the "source" PDF for Acrobat's File - Save As Other to export to a supported file format.

  • Print RDLC Report Directly to Printer with SubReports!

I am currently printing a report directly to the default printer using the code from this link.
    http://msdn.AddHandler
    ReportViewer1.LocalReport.SubreportProcessing, AddressOf SubreportProcessingEventHandler
    and this code:
Public Sub SubreportProcessingEventHandler(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As SubreportProcessingEventArgs)
    Dim zrpt = e.ReportPath
    Select Case zrpt
    Case "WOPartsSubReport"
    Dim ds1 As New WOPartsSubReportDataSet
    Dim da1 As New WOPartsSubReportDataSetTableAdapters.wopartsTableAdapter
    da1.Fill(ds1.woparts)
    e.DataSources.Add(New ReportDataSource("DataSet1", ds1.Tables("woparts")))
    Case "WOLaborSubReport"
    Dim ds2 As New WOLaborSubReportDataSet
    Dim da2 As New WOLaborSubReportDataSetTableAdapters.wolaborTableAdapter
    da2.Fill(ds2.wolabor)
    e.DataSources.Add(New ReportDataSource("DataSet1", ds2.Tables("wolabor")))
    Case "WOLockoutSubReport"
    Dim ds As New WOLockOutSubReportDataSet
    Dim da As New WOLockOutSubReportDataSetTableAdapters.wolockTableAdapter
    da.Fill(ds.wolock)
    e.DataSources.Add(New ReportDataSource("DataSet1", ds.Tables("wolock")))
    End Select
    End Sub
But now that I am NOT using a reportviewer how can I still get the subreports to work and still print directly to the printer?  Where would I put the code to do that?
    Thanks,

  • PRINTER PROFILE WHY IS MY PRINTER NOT LISTED AND HOW CAN I ADD

I have just installed Lightroom 5 and went to set up profile of printer and my epson stylus pro 4900 is not listed.  How can I add

Lightroom does not show a full list of all the profiles present in the computer. This would be unmanageably long, including a lot of irrelevant choices.
The user customises what is seen.
In the Print Job / Color Management section of the Print module, is a "Profile" selector. The lowest item in the menu that opens when you click on this, is "Other..."
Selecting this opens a new dialog, listing all the color management profiles that the OS currently knows about. Putting a check next to any printing output profile, makes that appear in the LR profiles "shortlist" hereafter. This would usually state a specific paper type, for a specific printer (and inkset if nonstandard).
AFAICT the exact same "shortlist" appears in softproofing too - in that case, AdobeRGB and sRGB are automatically offered as well.

  • How can I convert and/or import .3ga Android phone Voice Recorder files to iTunes playable format?

My new Android smart phone (Samsung Galaxy S Blaze) has a pre-installed "Voice Recorder" which creates .3ga files of whatever I record with that app. But I can't find anyway to play or utilize them on my PC. I'm new to iTunes (for Windows Vista), and I'm hoping it can play these files somehow but when I drag them to the iTunes window the red circle with a line through it shows up and the file doesn't get transferred.  I've also tried importing via iTunes File > Add file to library > click on file on my PC, but then after a second the "Add to Library" window disappears and the Voice file is nowhere to be found in iTunes. Any ideas are welcome. I'm pretty low tech....
    Thanks!

iDealshare VideoGo, the professional 3GA to MP3 Converter, can convert 3GA files whatever recorded from Android, Samsung Galaxy S1, S2, S3, S4, Nokia to MP3 format. Besides converting 3GA to MP3, it also can convert 3GA to WAV, M4A, WMA, AC3, AAC, FLAC, OGG, AIFF, RA, AU, DTS, MP2, APE and etc. It even supports to trim or split 3GA audio, merge several 3GA files into one, increase 3GA audio volume, batch convert 3GA files and etc.
Furthermore, iDealshare VideoGo also can convert 3GP, 3GPP, AVI, WMV, MP4, MKV, MPG, RMVB, WTV, ASF, MOV, M4V, DV, MXF, FLV, F4V, Apple ProRes, QCP, SHN, AWB, AMR, VOC, FLAC, OGG, M4B, Apple Lossless ALAC, M4A, CAF, AIFF, APE, PCM, MPC, AU and etc.

  • How do I convert a keynote to flash and keep the video file

I am trying to convert a keynote presentation into flash, but when I do I lose the videos. How do I stop this from happening?
    Thanks,
    Jeremy

How would this help? Flash is not compatible Keynote. If you are saying I should export the keynote presentation as a quicktime, then convert to flash, well, then I lose all the keynote functionality like the viewer choosing when to go to the next slide.
Am I missing something? I likely am, as I am new to all of this. Could you explain in more detail what you mean? Thanks.

  • How can I convert the metadata tags on my mp4s to xml files so that they can be read in Windows Media Center?

I have a library with almost 3000 movies and TV shows that I have fully tagged. However, I have decided to start using Windows Media Center and it does its metadata tagging through XML files.  I wanted to know if anyone could tell me if there was a way to extract the metadata from those mp4s and convert them to a format that WMC could read?  Thanks!!!!

iTunes can make XML playlists so it might be all you need, I made a simple one file playlist and exported it from iTunes. The result is shown below. In principle I could delete the playlist and the entry from the library, as long as I don't delete the file, then later reimport the XML playlist file. I haven't tested this particular scenario, but I assume that iTunes will read all the properties as listed unless it can read some kind of tag from the file itself in which case the current value of the tag would take precedence.
What I don't know is what media center would make of this file, or what its files look like, however assuming they have a similar structure that can be decoded then it should be possible to read data from the iTunes library and write out a text file that will make sense to media centre.
