How do I convert photos from P/shop Album 2 to Elements 8

I have all our photos on Photoshop Album 2 on a computer running on Windows XP.  I have purchased a new computer with Windows 7 and also Photoshop Elements 8.  Can I transfer photos to new computer and Elements 8 while keeping categories, tags etc?   It doesn't seem to want to do that. I am so frustrated that I am thinking of starting over again using Picasa.  It seems to offer a better approach.  I loaded Photoshop Album 2 onto new computer, but the photos didn't transfer effectively.
Walter

Install PSE 8 on the old computer, convert the PSA 2 catalog to PSE 8 format, and then use the PSE 8 Backup/Restore commands to move the catalog and all your photos from the old computer to the new computer.  For details, see:

How do I transfer photos from iPhoto to Adobe Elemnet?

    Hi
iPhoto is a software application used to import, organize, edit, print, and share digital photos on a Mac OS.
Elements Organizer 10 supports importing photos from iPhoto '09 (versions 8.0 – 8.1.2) and iPhoto’11 (versions 9.0 – 9.1.3). You cannot import photos from versions previous to iPhoto '09.
    Import photos from iPhoto ‘09
Elements Organizer 10 supports importing photos, along with their associated captions, tags, and ratings, from iPhoto. You also have the option to import information such as events and albums to maintain the organization of your library
Select Files > Get Photos And Videos > From iPhoto.
Note:  The iPhoto option is not displayed if iPhoto is not installed on your computer.
    The Import From iPhoto dialog
(Optional) You can convert events in iPhoto to individual albums in Elements Organizer 10. In the Import From iPhoto dialog, select Convert Events From iPhoto Into Albums.
When you import an album and event with the same name, a single album is created and all associated photos are added to the album.
(Optional) Select More options if you want to choose the events and albums for import. Select the events and albums you want to import.
    Click Import.
    Import photos from iPhoto ‘11
Select File > Get Photos And Videos > From iPhoto. Click Import.
I also a got an article for a quik reference.

  • How do i move photos from event to album?

I cannot figure out how to move photos in iphoto from events to a new album, and did not find any answer in iphoto help.  I have a lot of files that I'd like to drag and drop if it is possible to do that.  I am using iphoto 2010.  Also, is there a keyboard shortcut to highlight a photo and call up a list of albums or events to move it into?  I find the individual drag and drop process very sensitive and time consuming, would prefer to move as I do with folders if that is possible.

    1. You can't move a photo from an Event to an Album.
Events are a view of the Library. Every photo is in the Library. Albums references the photos from the Library, so you can add a photo to an albums (actually as many as you like) but the photo remains in the Library.
    2. Yes, you can drag a photo from a Event to the Album listed on the left hand pane.

  • How do I import photos from Adobe Revel to Photoshop Elements 12?

I have Photoshop Elements 12 on my PC, and the Adobe Revel app on my Samsung Galaxy Tablet. How do I import photos taken with the tablet and stored in Revel to Elements?

Don't do any of that. Just export the photos from iPhoto
    File -> Export
to folders in the Finder. That's the supported way and has the added advantage that you can use the names you've given to your Events or Albums as well.

  • How do i retrieve photos from Adobe photoshop album starter edition?

Hi, Im am trying to migrate photos from a locked version of Adobe Photoshop Album starter Edition to Adobe Photoshop Elements 11, I have tried Windows Explorer search with no luck, and despite being able to see the file names in the Starter Edition before the register page covers it. Even though I would have followed the default path I can't seem to get past the "Application data" part of the path as this is missing from my selections, any further suggestions? kind regards Penny0208

Thanks Pat, I've tried that to no success (quite a few different ways) even though I can see the file name in the page before the registration page covers it, and the *.jpg brings up over 32000 files, the problem here is that some images I know are also duplicated in the "my digital photos" file but how do I know if they are all there? there are over 4700 photos in the Album starter catalogue. The frustrating thing is I know they are somewhere perhaps safely in the "My digital photos" but what is making me wonder is my new Photoshop Elements 11 keeps reminding me of missing files??

  • How to delete a photo from My Panoramas album

I just upgraded my iPad2 to iOS7. Seems like in the process the iOS7 created a new album for me: My Panoramas. Cute, but I don't want that album. If I have to have it, I would like to delete some of the photos in it that are not panoramas. When I select a photo in that album, a garbage can shows up but is grayed out. It's not obvious for me how to delete that photo. Please help.
BTW: That album (My Panoramas) does not show up in my iPhoto on my Mac, so I can't edit it there.

I'm with you on this. Rather like Windows 7, I am able to ignore the Panoramas Album but iPhoto puts my photos in that album for reasons unknown to me. And, as you say, the offending album doesn't appear on my MacBook Pro so I can't edit there.
Anyone know by what criteria iPhoto puts photos into the Panoramas album?
    thanks.

  • How do I import photos from a Lightroom Catolog into Elements 7.0?

Am trying to import my photos from a Lightroom catolog and cannot. I find the Lightroom folder, but the files wont import to Elements 7.0.

Do you want to  import the photos to the organizer? Then the previous poster gave you the right answer. However, it's not necessary to use the organizer if you already have your photos catalogued in lightroom. Instead, you can set PSE as your external editor and send the photos directly from LR. Lightroom preferences>external editor tab>browse to PSE. Then when you're in the editor or library modules, right click and choose to send the photo to elements.

  • How do I import photos from my iPhone 6 into Elements 13?

I connected my iPhone 6 to my computer, clicked Trust this Computer on the phone, and went to Organizer's photo downloader but it is not detecting any devices.  If I click Refresh List, nothing happens.  Meanwhile Windows Explorer recognizes that my iPhone is connected to my computer (which uses Win 8.1).  What am I doing wrong?  Seems like this should work.

    Just curious:
If you try the Import process via 'From files or folders' instead of from 'Camera or card reader', are you able to see and select the location of your pictures?

  • How do I import photos from Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2???

I have all my family photos for at least the last 6 years on Adobe Album Starter Edition 3.2. I cannot access them because it says a need a code to open them and I don't have that; they are no longer supporting that, so how the heck do I access all my photos?????

How do I transfer photos from my iphoto album on my Imac to my ipad

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive (works the same with an SD card) into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

  • How do i move photos from imovie to iphoto

How do I move photos from imovie to iphoto?

You cannot put photos in a trailer. They are designed for videos.
However, there is a way around this.
Go to the Project Library view. Select your Trailer. Now, click FILE/CONVERT TO PROJECT.
    Now you can add photos.

  • Can someone please tell me how to import a photo from my iPhoto library into Photoshop Elements 11.             o library

Can someone tell me how to import a photo from my iPhoto library into Photo Shop Elements 11.  When I am in Photo Shop Elements and I go to import the only option is to import from a camera.  I want to import a photo from iPhoto.  If I can't figure this out Photo Shop Elements is totally useless to me.

Not sure what you are trying to do
If you want to use PSE as an editor for iPhoto then set it in the iPhoto preferences (you need to search the forums for the exact settings - they are not obvious)
The general answer to yoru question is to import a photo form iPhoto to  any other program is to select the photo in iPhoto and export to the desktop and import from there
Please explain what it is taht you want to do

  • How do I convert pics from old Adobe Photoshop program on cd in pdd to jpeg?

I have cds with pdd pics from my old (1999) Adobe Photoshop program.  My system won't open them.  I now have Photoshop Elements 8.  I can go to Organize and get photos from the cd.  They are in my catalog and I can open them there.
How do I convert them to jpeg?
When I go to Edit, I can't find my photos in the catalog.  I only find the new pics in my Photo Gallery that are already jpeg.
I feel as though I'm missing something simple.  Can someone help me?

Thanks for your response.  I did get a way to do it with the software I already have.

Subject: How do I convert pics from old Adobe Photoshop program on cd in pdd to jpeg?
There's a utility called "Image Converter Plus" that can do this for you.  They modestly calls it "the best image converter in the industry.  You can see their web site at:  http://www.imageconverterplus.com/help-center/work-with-icp/examples/how-to-convert/PDD_jp g.html .
    Here's from their web site:
h1. How to convert PDD to JPG
Converting PDD to JPG is very easy with Image Converter Plus. In Windows Explorer, select a PDD image and click your right mouse button. In the context menu, select Convert to submenu and click Custom convert line.
    ==========
This seems to be exactly what you want.
Since they have a separate "download" and "purchase" section, it's not clear to me if you have to pay the $49 license fee to use the utility.  You may have to purchase the license to get batch processing.
Even if you do have to pay, my philosophy in life is that if someone can rescue some important pictures with their $49 utility, then it's worth the price.

How do I download photos from iphoto on my imac to my new macbook?

Connect the two Macs together (network, firewire target mode, etc)  or use an external hard drive formed Mac OS extended (journaled) and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity from the old Mac to the pictures folder of the new Mac - launch iPhoto on the new mac and it will open the library and convert it as needed and you will be ready move forward.

2 way to get the icon...
Finder>Preferences>General, check what you want to show on Desktop.
Finder>Preferences>Sidebar, check what you want to show in the Sidebar of all windows.
