HOW do I copy jpeg files from my Windows PC to my iPad2?

How do I copy jpeg files from my Windows PC, to my iPad2?

If you are on iTunes 11 on your PC then you may want to enable the left-hand sidebar via View > Show Sidebar (or control-S), which might make it easier to navigate.
To sync photos, connect and select your iPad on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes, and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos - if you select that tab you can then select which photo folders to sync to the iPad's Photos app. There is a bit more info on this page. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.

  • How can I copy mp3 files from my Itunes library to an SD card for use in a non-apple phone?

How can I copy mp3 files from my Itunes library to an SD card for use in a non-apple phone?  I can physically copy the tunes as mp3's but the phone does not seem to be able to play all of them.   Do I need to copy an entire album or can I just pick & choose individual songs?   The phone is question is an LG running who knows what for an operating system.

AAC is Advanced Audio Coding.  Basically it's a format that sounds better than MP3 but doesn't take up as much space as a lossless format (like you'd have on a CD).  More than likely you've had that encoding turned on when you ripped your music into itunes (it's the default encoder).  Therefore your LG phone won't play them.
You need to turn off the AAC format by going to the iTunes menu, Preferences, General (at the top), then clicking the "Import Preferences" button.  Change the AAC Encoder to MP3 Encoder.  After that you'll have to make MP3 copies of your songs by right clicking them and selecting "Create MP3 Version."  You'll get a copy of the song that should transfer to your SD card and have MP3 encoding.  Hopefully your phone will play that.

  • How do i copy my files from my external hard drive onto my imac

how do i copy my files from my external hard drive onto my imac

You should be able to 'migrate them' without having to do so during a reinstall, from an external drive. In some cases, you may be able to use TimeMachine software even if the drive had not been used as a backup.
The usual way, though, is to drag & drop copy from one to another (volume or folder) you created in there and have open. Or drag an item on top of the icon of a hard disk drive when it is mounted on the desktop. I'm used to working with open folders and windows, because that works best; and then see if I want to change how things look inside their destination. This helps should I later want to burn them to a DVD and have it correct. And I want to know where they are.
I had more links to some information about importing or migrating data into a Mac from an external, a week ago, but can't find them now. A few good links to pages, but I think I posted what I did find directly to answer someones question about it; and believe the info was in an Apple Support article about TimeMachine, near the lower part of the page with blue words with a disclosure triangle, so you could read more in that page. But I don't believe these two are correct in that TimeMachine (some versions) only allow wireless backup to a drive in a base station unit such as Apple sells, for this. The link I saw simply said how to work around not using the wireless stuff. Maybe it was a dated item, not in these?
See a main general portal to TimeMachine support,
    here: http://www.apple.com/support/timemachine/
Or basics that may not provide optional copy methods:
Mac Basics - Time Machine backs up your mac:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1427
Perhaps a search of Apple Support database (or even ASC discussions?) would yield ideas, and perhaps find what may work for the kind of files you want to copy, and where they can be found & used later. Are the files for specific applications? Or images, music, etc?
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • How do I move large files from a Windows computer to my MacBook Pro? There are a lot of photos (tiffs

How do I move large files from a Windows computer to my MacBook Pro? There are a lot of photos (tiffs, jpgs, some photoshopped files), iTunes library, word docs. Is there a particular type of external hard drive that can be used or am I limited to copying stuff onto z-drive and moving that way?

If both computers are on the same network, you can share the files from the Windows host using SMB and mount the share on the Mac. Otherwise, the Mac should be able to read (not necessarily write) any storage device formatted in Windows.

  • How do I copy music files from an iPod 5thGen to a new iTunes installation?

My old WinXP computer crashed & burned (literally). I installed iTunes (11.2.2.3) on my new Win7 PC. How do I copy all my music from my 5th Gen iPod into the new iTunes? My music collection contains only MP4 files ripped from my CD collection--nothing purchased from the iTunes Store. I located a folder named Apple on one of my old flash drives which contains a subfolder named iTunes Music. That folder contains subfolders for each of my original CDs with MP4s for all the tracks. Could I use those files to restore my music to iTunes?

If is a MicroSD card you'll need a MicroSD to SD card adapter. Something like this.
Once you have one of those just insert it into the SD card slot on your Mac then open a Finder window and select all the images and press Command + c to copy then go to the folder you want to put them in and select it and press Command + v to paste to that folder.

  • How do I copy over files from "Previous System 1" to my current system

    Hello.
I was having trouble with starting up my computer. I used a friend's computer to check Apple's Knowledge Base. The suggestion was to perform an Arhive and Install and to select the option of preserving my user and network settings.
I could not locate my Panther Install disc (my previous OS was 10.3.9). However, I did find my Jaguar 10.2 Install disc so I decided to use that instead (my disorganization is truly exasperating).
I thought once my system was again accessible (which it now is) I'd be able to reinstall Panther from the Archive even though I still can't locate my Panther Install disc. Is that possible?
I am, of course, having trouble using many of my 10.3.9 applications as they are incompatible with my currently loaded Jaguar 10.2 OS. I am unable to print, get my email, or use countless applications.
I'd sure appreciate help and suggestions as to how I might reaccess my 10.3.9 OS from the Archive so that I can avoid having to repurchase and reload Panther to get my original system back.
Is there a simple way to copy/move my previous system from "Previous System 1" back to my current system?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
    Luna Monte
P.S. I foolishly neglected to maintain a back-up of my data onto an external disk. If I can get things back to where they were, I've learned my lesson.

    Lona:
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
As Kappy pointed out, you need Panther install disks to install Panther. However, you may be able to recover your data files from the Previous System Folder.
You can purchase Panther disks from applerescue. Your computer will support Tiger if it meets the minimum system requirements for Tiger.
Please don't hesitate to post back should you have further questions.
    Good luck.

  • How do I copy my files from an external drive to my new computer

I had all my music files on my old laptop whose motherboard burned out. I removed the hard drive, and would like to copy my old music files from my old hard drive to the internal hard drive in my new computer. I think I can do this one file at a time but there are like 4000 files so that is impossible

File -> Add folder to library.
Select the topmost folder with the music

  • How do I copy a file from a PC to a MAC with Airport Express?

I read that it should be possible to share and copy files between computers connected via an Airport Express wireless network in the Airport Express Technical Specification.
I have my PC connected to the Airport via an adapter and it happily shares Internet connection and Printers with my MAC (G5) wirelessly. I have the PC connected via the 'Access Point' option in the Netgear Adapter (rather than Computer to Computer Ad hoc - which i tried but doesn't seem to work).
I found the excellent : http://www.efelix.co.uk/tech/3001.html which details how to set up sharing and I have followed this successfully to the point where I get to the point where I should connect to the PC (from the MAC " Finder | Go | Connect to Server...") specifying its TCP address (in my case 'smb:10.0.0.3') but it times out with an error message stating that 'Finder could not find the specified resource" or something similar.
My question is - is this possible using Airport Express, and what steps are needed to set this up? Is Access point the issue perhaps?

Both the PC and the Mac are wireless clients of the
    Airport Express (AX)?
Yes, both Mac and PC are wirless Clients of AX
Can you provide more information on your network
topology. Is the AX connected to the internet?
Yes, AX is connected to the internet (a wireless ISP called unwired.com.au)
Is the Airport Express using 10.0.0.x addressing
rather than the default of 10.0.1.x
Sorry, you are correct: AX is using 10.0.1.x and is itself 10.0.1.1, PC is 10.0.1.3
Note it should be smb://10.0.0.3 and not
    smb:10.0.0.3
I suspect it should be smb://10.0.1.3
You are correct - thanks~!!! It works fine now - I am really impressed with
    a) the fact this works
    b) your spot-on advise iFelix! THanks!
I am curious to know though, given the Mac and PC are clients of the AX, is there anything I need to do explictly to ensure the Firewall of the AX is turned on now that I am sharing and exposing files and directories on these machines and have to have client firewalls turned off? I was using Sygate on the PC as my software firewall but found no matter what Adapter related software i 'allowed' in the firewall, it would no longer access the internet.

  • How do I copy my files from my host server acct to my (new) hard drive?

    I recently purchased a new
laptop after a crash.  I was able to install DW (CS3)
and my files are all intact.  But I need to put the files on my hard drive so that I can edit them offline.  As it is, everytime I open DW, I'm connected to the host.  Previously, I could connect when I was ready to post.   So, the question is: how do I transfer my images and html web pages to my hard drive. Once that is done, I should be able to work offline, right, from my computer.  Thanks.

Define a Local Site folder in DW.  This is where your site files will be stored locally.
Open DW, hit GET (Down Arrow) to download files and folders from your remote server.

  • How do I copy a file from a flash drive to my iMac

I am trying to import my contacts from my old PC to my new iMac.  I had all my files transfered by an Apple store tech.  My contacts went to my Address Book.  Which is fine, but I now want to import them into Office for iMac 2011 Outlook.  So I exported them out of Outlook 2007 for Windows into a file on a flash drive.  I am now trying to import them from the flash drive into Outlook on my iMac.  I can't figure out how to find the flash drive on the iMac to import the file.  HELP!!!

By default, all drives are hidden from the desktop. Pretty dumb in my opinion, but that's the default.
From the desktop, choose Finder > Preferences. Turn on the check boxes for all drive types you want to always appear on the desktop.
