How do I correct an error I made?

When I got my ipod classic 80g, I didn't know that you were supposed to use Itunes to transfer everything to your ipod, so I just copied all of my music to my ipod disc on my computer. Once I realized how everything works, I deleted the files, buy now it says I have 74.3g to start with, not 80g. I've tried resetting and restoring the ipod and nothing's worked. Is there any way to fix this?

Are you sure you restored it correctly? If the restore was successful, it should have deleted everything on the iPod. Did you use the Restore button on the Summary page that appears in iTunes when you plug the iPod in?

I know this doesn't help you Bud, but I've had this issue for at least the last couple of versions. If I can ask, what is you enviornment like? Local PC only, libray saved on another PC/Server?
In my case my library is on Windows 2003 server with the share mapped to drive M: This has worked for many years through both XP and Windows 7 until and update a while ago.

Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Cache or Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
