How do I correct LG Lucid wifi authentication problem

LG Lucid was working fine until few days ago when it stopped connecting to all available wifi networks.  It still ID's them, goes thru authentication process, & then provides error message "authentication problem".  I think there was aa phone update about the same time things stopped working.  Help please.

I know this is an old thread, and would hope you've gotten connected to your WiFi by now, but you may want to check your router settings. If you have some sort of device filtering set up, your for may not be recognizing your phone since the update.

  • Wifi Authentication Problem in Lenovo K900

    Hi,
I am able to connect to wifi at home network. And when I try it at office it is showing Authentication problem and "Not in Range". The password and everything is correct. All my colleagues are able to connect with the same password. I searched online for the solution and there are many other lenovo tab and phone users facing the same problem and I am unable to find the solution. Can anyone resolve this issue and give appropriate answer for this.

This is the first time I'm hearing this issue, I'm also an K900 user but this never happmed to me or my other friends.
Are you sure that's the right password, maybe its case sensitive, because this bug is not present in K900.

  • Wifi authentication problem yoga 2 1050F

Hi,I am a new member and have just upgraded to android 5. Seems a big mistake as cannot connect to internet (no trouble with android 4) Says authentication problem. Have tried cancelling and re-entering password, turning router on and off and factory reset. Nothing. If Lenovo come up with a repair how will I be able to get it into the tablet when I have no internet connection. At the moment I have a tablet that is about as usefull as a roof tile. HELP

You have been looking everywhere, except this forum. This issue was already addressed in this thread: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Android-Yoga-Series-Tablets/Wifi-Won-t-Connect-quot-Authentification-Problem-quot-Yoga/td-p/2105009 Are you using a WEP key encryption? If yes, try switching to WPA/WPA2. Though i have been able to connect without problem with these settings: Have you performed a factory reset after switching from 4.4.2 to 5.0? You could try that, sometimes it fixes so e issues.

  • WiFi Authentication problem

I have an iMac, and iPad, a Blackberry (forgive me) and Airport for my WiFi all of my pieces are working fine with my WiFi.  I had guests over the other day and we could not allow my guests iPads or iPhone to sign onto my network.  I bought my dad a generic tablet to use for solving cross words, etc., and I cannot sign into my own network.  No opportunity exists to put in a password because it just reads "Authentication Problem".
No opportunity exists, therefore, to enter the password.  Signal strength is excellent, Securty is WPA2 PSK, I touch connect and it says Saved Secured with WPA2 and then goes back to "Authentication Problem."
I've unplugged (and plugged back in) both the Airport / router and Internet Service provider's modem. I've rebooted my iMac and the new generic pad 3 times each.
I had 2 networks one for me and one for guests, can't get into either, identical problem. I can see all of the neighbour's networks and they're all locked and say secured with (various WPA/WPA2, etc., just mine says Authentication Problem.  I plugged the tablet into my iMac and it's functioning well.
I now deleted the guest network and can't open a new network.
I've triple checked my passwords, hand written and in the Key Chain.
I've checked my Apple ID (I'm able to get into this forum).
Both my iPad (purchased May 2013) and BlackBerry (received free July 2013) signed in without any problems.
I cannot see why I can't get into my network ~ any ideas?

  • IPhone 802.1x WiFi authentication problem

my WiFi access works fine at home and almost all WiFi areas. but i go to school where wireless access is authenticated with a login and password. it works fine on my macbook. since the iPhone has OSX, i thought the school's WiFi would work on my iPhone, but it doesnt. i can see the Network on my iPhone and it has a check mark. but i cant connect to it because i am not authenticated (i think). anyone know how to do this?

On the iPhone when you try to connect to 802.1x it may ask for a password, no username, but this won't allow you access to the network. No support for it yet.
Some also allow IPSec and/or PPTP for WiFi you might check with your help desk people. In this case you might see the network but it would not allow you access to anything. You would need to setup VPN settings in Settings > General > Network > VPN > Settings to make a VPN connection. You have to go back to this location to enter your password because it does not save it. Also if you try to use Settings > VPN to connect, you get a number pad not a keyboard to enter your password. This works fine for Apple employes but almost no one else in the world.

  • How do you correct the  apple mail "offline" problem

Do a "P" "R" (Ram) Reset. Turn your computer off. Then as you turn it on immediately hold the P , R , Option, Command keys down all at the same time  ( all four) and keep holding until you hear two dong sounds and the screen go black for second and the Apple reappears. Then let off the keys.
OS X Yosemite: Reset your computer’s PRAM
If your Mac doesn’t seem to be remembering your speaker volume, display resolution, or the disk it should be using during startup, you may need to reset your computer’s PRAM.
Resetting PRAM may change some system settings and preferences. Use System Preferences to restore your settings.
Important:   To print these instructions, click the Share button in the Help window, then choose Print.
Choose Apple menu > Shut Down.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Option, Command (⌘), P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on your Mac.
Immediately press and hold the Option-Command-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.Continue holding the keys down until your Mac restarts, and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.
After resetting your computer’s PRAM, you may need to update your speaker volume, display resolution, and startup disk preferences. For more information about PRAM, see the Apple Support article About NVRAM and PRAM.

    Hi, Jordan -
    Welcome to Apple's Discussions.
If the original drive in the newer Mac is a Western Digital, its jumpers may be set to Single, which WD drives often use when there is only one device on the bus. When a second drive is added, the jumpers on the original must be reset to Master.
OS 9's utility is named Drive Setup - you should find it in the Utilities folder on the hard drive. Run that. Select the added hard drive in the list, then select Mount Volume from the Functions menu.
You can also check with that utility to see if the OS believes the drive has been set to automount at boot. Again, select the drive in the list. Then select Volume Settings from the Functions menu - there's a checkbox in that screen to set automount (for freshly initialized drives, that's turned on by default).
Also, try running Disk First Aid (should also be in the Utilities folder). Let it have a look at the second drive, and repair anything it can.
Apple System Profiler should report the format of all drives it sees. Is the format of the drive from the old Mac stated as Mac OS Standard, or as Mac OS Extended?

    Hello Kiira Doon,
The troubleshooting steps detailed below may help get your iPhone's display to function.
Toggle the ringer switch to see if the unit vibrates. If it does, it could be that iPhone is getting power, but is not displaying any image.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
While connected to the iPhone charger, try to reset the iPhone.
If the low-battery screen appears, charge the iPhone.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?Contact Apple Support.

  • In short, firefox was my web browser with a google window. Now, I open the mozilla window only to have google totally dominate the screen. Only for me, not my wife. What did I do, how do I correct???

I was using both firefox/mozilla and google but now when I click
on mozilla it trys to open but google dominates and I can't get into firefox to browse. Yet other users still have the normal screen and no problem. What did I do and how do I correct this problem?
Thanx in advance. Also, is there a cost for this assistance??

First make sure that no application is using or has open any files on the disk. Then:
Click and drag the disk icon on the desktop to the trash. Wait for the system to recognize the action, and the icon should disappear from the desktop. It is then safe to remove the device.
Alternatively, you can secondary click on the disk icon, and then primary click "Eject (name of disk)". Wait for the icon to disappear off the desktop, and then it is safe to remove the drive.
Here is a detailed help document on the subject.

  • HT4623 When I send a text to my wife I getthe same message transmitted back to me how do I correct this?

After updating my iphone 4 to IOS6.1 when I send a Text message to my spouses phone  I also receive the same text message back on my phone How can I correct this?
I also cannot get myphoneto sync with itunes.

This could be caused by using the same Apple ID for iMessage.  If you are, to fix this you have two choices:
On one of the phones go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with a different ID.  Note: you can still share the same ID for purchasing in Settings>iTunes & App Stores; or
On both phones go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and uncheck the email address(es) shown under "You can be reached by iMessage at".

  • Cinnamon WiFi authentication loop

So I just did a fresh install of Arch Linux with Cinnamon DE. Then I tried connecting to WiFi (yes I installed gnome-keyring) with NetworkManager with:
    sudo systemctl stop dhcpcd.service
    sudo systemctl disable dhcpcd.service
    sudo systemctl stop dhcpcd.service
    sudo systemctl disable [email protected]
    sudo systemctl stop [email protected]
    sudo systemctl enable NetworkManager
    sudo systemctl start NetworkManager
This then shows me all the WiFi network available in my proximity. When I try to connect to my WiFi, I'm prompted with the authentication password. I enter my password correctly and it attempts to connect. Then a few seconds later, it prompts for my password again. It does not say I entered my password wrong, just prompts the password again.
    Anyone help?
    Thank you

EDIT: I also noticed that you stopped and removed the dhcpcd service for what looks like your ethernet connection (wired). And I don't see that you used the command to remove your WiFi card from the dhcpcd service. This may or may not be causing an issue, but I wanted to point it out.
Wait if you don't ever get prompt for your WiFi password, how do you connect to a WiFi with a password? Does your WiFi not have a password for security?
I still get the initial prompt. If you want, you can also right-click the network manager applet icon and "Edit connections" then select the network and change the password with "Edit"...

  • Use smart card for 802.1x secured WiFi authentication

    Hi,
is it possible to use a certificate stored on a USB Security Token for WiFi 802.1x authentication?
I have setup a test environment with all required components (AD, Enterprise CA, NPS, WPA2-Enterprise capable WiFi Access Point, all required certificates, all Server 2012 R2 / Windows 8.1 Pro) and created a user certificate for WPA2-Enterprise secured
WiFi access (802.1x). Everthing works fine as long as the user certificate is stored in the local certificate store of the user's client computer: The user can connect to the WiFi network and the NPS logs show that the user has been authenticated correctly
    and granted access.
To test this scenario with a Smart Card (Safenet USB Token), I stored that same user certificate on the token (incl. private key). The Safenet software on the client computer automatically makes the certificate stored on the token available in the local
certificate store as soon as the token has been plugged in (checked via MMC Certificates snap-in). But the certificate can't obviously be used for the desired WiFi authentication: If I try to connect the secured WiFi (the same as in scenario 1) the connection
    fails.
As I'm using exactly the same certificate in both scenarios, I don't think there's anything wrong with the settings in the certificate, the NPS or any other infrastructure component. The reason for failure in scenario 2 must be lying somewhere in either
the local client computer configuration or in the Safenet software on the client computer.
I'm very familiar with all the PKI and authentication stuff, but I'm new to smart cards. Are there differences between different types of smart cards and for what purpose one can use them? (USB tokens, chip cards, virtual tokens, etc.?)
Has anybody experience in creating a 802.1x secured WiFi access with smart card based user certificates who could advise?
    Thanks + Best Regards
    Matt

    Hi,
I found some links form technet site which can be helpful in this case
    Network access authentication and certificates
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc759575(v=ws.10).aspx
Enable smart card or other certificate authentication
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc737336(v=ws.10).aspx
    Quote:
    Client certificate requirements
With EAP-TLS or PEAP-EAP-TLS, the server accepts the client authentication attempt when the certificate meets the following requirements:
The client certificate is issued by an enterprise CA or mapped to a user or computer account in Active Directory.
The user or computer certificate on the client chains to a trusted root CA, includes the Client Authentication purpose in EKU extensions (the object identifier for Client Authentication is 1.3.6.1.5.5.7.3.2), and fails neither the checks that are performed
by CryptoAPI and specified in the remote access policy nor the Certificate object identifier checks that are specified in IAS remote access policy.
The 802.1X client does not use registry-based certificates that are either smart card-logon or password-protected certificates.
For user certificates, the Subject Alternative Name (SubjectAltName) extension in the certificate contains the user principal name (UPN).
For computer certificates, the Subject Alternative Name (SubjectAltName) extension in the certificate must contain the client's fully qualified domain name (FQDN), which is also called the DNS name
