How do I correct spacing errors that occured when converting a word file to pdf?

I have a microsoft word file that when converted to pdf is changed. If I import it I loose the font style if I upload it I keep the fonts but the spacing on the document is all wrong. Any suggestions?

Thanks for posting; this is an error that we see from time to time, and typically has to do with the document's formatting. Sometimes a font used in the original document is not available on our conversion servers; while we do have a lot of fonts installed on those servers, we don't have every font in the world. A missing font will be substituted and those substitutions can lead to the results you observed. Additionally, image placement, line breaks, and page breaks sometimes change if you save to other formats. Although there's not a specific button to click to fix the problem, you may want to toy with any strange or special spacing that you've used in the document, or substitute a more standard font of your own choosing. How to maintain original lines when converting a word file in a PDF

Unfortunately the table lines often change when converting a word file in a PDF, e.g. dotted/broken lines into straight lines or different kinds of broken lines. How can I maintain the original lines when converting the documents?

Ok, this is the background.
I’m a publisher. Any document to end user will go as pdf. And off course it preserves the word appearance. We ship our manuals only in pdf. At this point my end users have to copy the “CODES” into his editor to run the product. So when doing it, the “Codes” copied from pdf to his editor loses its format. Editor need not be the actual one; you can also test in a notepad.
P.S: You can find the difference by copying the code from word to notepad and pdf to notepad

Thanks for your response. I have reinstalled and used the adobe clean software to remove all adobe software first. still not working. Can you explain in more detail "fix the permissions on your User: Library folders"? I have verified disc perms in Disc Utility.

How to convert a word file into PDF in command line ?

I want to convert a word (excel, powerpoint, ...) into a PDF using a windows command line.
The command :
c:\> acrodist toto.ps
is working file and the output is a PDF file (toto.pdf)
But if i try with a MS office word file it is not working
c:\> acrodist toto.doc
The output in the console is:
%%[ Error: undefined; OffendingCommand: ÐÏà¡±á ]%%
%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%
If i do a right clic on the file with the mouse and select in the context menu the option convert to PDF it is working fine :-\
How can i convert that kind of file with a command line ?

This is equivalent to using the PDFMaker facility in Word - that is,
the Acrobat button. Which is also the same thing that is done when you
use File > Create PDF > From File in Acrobat.
What it does is print to a PS file *and* do a lot of additional
processing to write stuff about links, tags etc. into the PS file.

This isn't true, but it's certainly the case that you won't get links.
There seems to be no API, via any mechanism, still less the "obsolete"
(Microsoft's view) command line, to use PDFMaker from your program.

How do I maintain bookmarks in multiple documents when exporting a book file to PDF?

I am using a book file to organize 10 individual indesign documents. Each document has its own set of bookmarks and links, and their are links that go to other documents within the book as well. How do I (using CS3) print my book file to PDF while maintaining all the interactive components? I want my complete list of bookmarks to appear within the bookmark pane, and I want all of the interactive links in the document to work when they are clicked in the PDF. Doing this for one document is simple, set the preferences to enable the bookmarks and links. However, none of these PDF export settings seem to work when printing the entire book.

How do I fix Registry Errors that occured during Install of iTunes latest version?

Hardware/Software info:
Acer Aspire lapton 5535-5050
Vista Home premium OS
2 GB Ram
250 GB Sata HDrive
AMD Athlon X2 Dual Core QL-64 bit processor
I recently installed the latest version of iTunes vers. 11.x per the iTunes update process. Afterwards
itune 11 worked ok aside from the totally different startup or Store page looking so different. Later
I tried to burn a disc from my current iTunes Library and found out my CdRom drive had been disabled
due to registry errors during the iTunes update process. The end result was to get my CdRom drive
back in operation, I had to due a System Restore (using Vista home premium) back to a date before
the iTunes update.
It was a successful Restore and my CdRom drive is now working again but iTunes will no longer run
due to missing files not found during attempts to start iTunes. It tells me to reinstall iTunes again.
1. Do I Uninstall the partial copy of iTunes listed on my Program list? (appears to iTunes 10.07.21)
first or just do an install of iTunes 11.x from the Apple iTunes web site?
2. What is the risk of the new iTunes causing Windows registry errors and disabling my CdRom again?
3. What is the risk of other registry errors from the new version of iTunes?

I had the same problem after installing version 11, my CD/DVD drive was disabled/uninstalled completely.
I restored version 10.7 to get my iTunes functionality back using a backup i created before the upgrade.
Unfortunately, not being a PC wiz, I had to contact DELL support to fix the problem as a simple reinstall of the drivers failed to fix the problem. I am fortunate to still have hardware support as the PC is only 7 months old. DELL thankfully were fully aware of the problem and deleted the "Upper & Lower Filters" from my registry ("how to" available from a Google search for anyone confident enough to do this alone).
I still get the request to reinstall iTunes software on starting itunes, but for now I just click OK and move on and iTunes works fine (using version 10.7). I will probably reinstall 10.7 after doing another backup, but for now I don't need to and can do without the added grief.
DELL said this was a common problem that is easily fixed, but as yet are unaware of any further issues.
I have an Dell Inspiron 620, running on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS with 6GB Ram

How do I keep my original text colours when converting from Publisher 2007 to PDF format?

Recently I am finding that when I convert my Publisher 2007 documents to PDF, the text colours do not remain the same, but revert to black or grey? Clip art retains its colours. What am I doing wrong?

They won't show up unless
you have click on each text box
Go Format > Shape
click on lines
chose desired line color for the borders.
once the Borders a colored they will show up in the created PDFs.

Thanks for you suggestion roaminggnome. I tried typing in 13019 like you said and it gave me a few options to try and fix it but none of them worked (of course). I fiddled around with it for a while some more on my own and some how got it to work again, lol. Thanks again though for offering a solution.

I've checked your account, and all is well there. Please make sure that you're logging in with the same Adobe ID/password that you used when you signed up.
Then, clear the browser cache, and try logging in directly to https://cloud.acrobat.com.

while importing the reqst if u get any kind of errors , u need to check the Transport Log Entries
thez are the posible return codes
0 means all is ok
4 means something happens, e. g. something in the destination system is deletet, but else everything ok
8 means something goes wrong. Some parts could be transportet but not all
If you have higher than 8 you have a problem. If you want to know more about a transport read the transport protocol. It tells you what the problem is
Analyze the trnasport log and fix the issue based on the error msg and reimpor t he reqst

I know this doesn't help you Bud, but I've had this issue for at least the last couple of versions. If I can ask, what is you enviornment like? Local PC only, libray saved on another PC/Server?
In my case my library is on Windows 2003 server with the share mapped to drive M: This has worked for many years through both XP and Windows 7 until and update a while ago.
