How do I create a duplicate photo book?

We are in the process of creating a photo book for one set of Grandparents and would like to duplicate that photo book once it's been created so that we can create a slightly revised photo book for the other set of grandparents. Is there anyway to create a duplicate/copy of the first photo book? We don't want to lose that book in case we want to print additional copies in the future. Thanks!

Hello Curtis,
Just select the Book you want to modify in the Library Inspector, and then choose
File -> Duplicate Book
from the main Aperture menu.
That will create an exact copy of your book, and you can modify it, without changing the original book.

If you have an iPhone and have it set to keep the normal photo when shooting HDR photos the two image files that are created will be duplicates in a manner of speaking (same image) but there are only twp apps that detected the iPhone HDR and normal photos as being duplicates: PhotoSweeper and Duplicate Cleaner for iPhoto. None of the other apps detected those two files as being duplicates as they look for file name as well as other attributes and the two files from the iPhone have different file names.
iPLM, however, is the best all around iPhoto utility as it can do so much more than just find duplicates. IMO it's a must have tool if using iPhoto.

Creating a duplicate photo before editing...

In iPhoto '09, I used to create a duplicate photo, then edit the duplicate. I did all of this right from within iPhoto. In other words, I didn't use another application external to iPhoto. However, the Duplicate menu option seems to have been removed from the right-click menu within iPhoto '11. How can I accomplish this functionality now?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You don't need to duplicate a photo to edit it and retain the original photo. When iPhoto begins editing a photo it creates a duplicate or modified version and applies the edits to it. If you want to view the original file while in the edit mode just use the Shift key to toggle between the modified and original versions.
If you want to get the original file back select the photos and use the Photos ➙ Revert to Original menu option or *right-click on the photo in the edit window* and select Revert to Original from the menu that appears.

Hello there!
Here is one way to create a duplicate image and colorize it. As you can see below, I have one image right now, that I want to duplicate.
My layers panel looks like below.
To duplicate your image, click the downward arrow on the right side of your Layer Panel.
Select Duplicate Layer. This will duplicate the layer that the image is on.
Select "OK" to approve the duplication.
As you can now see in the Layers panel, the image is duplicated. The new layer is now at the top of the Layer panel.
Now to colorize your image, go to Window > Adjustments.
The Adjustments panel will now be opened. Select the Hue and Saturation icon as seen circled in red.
The Hue and Saturation propertied panel will be opened. I selected "Colorize", and adjusted the hue and saturation bar to achieve the level red in my photo.
As you can see below, the image is now red.
Now i want to make sure only ONE of my image layers is red. I moved the Hue and Saturation layer to only be on top of the bottom layer. The image on the top layer now will not be affected by the red.
Select the move tool, so I can now move the image layers so we can see both of them.
With each image layer selected, you can take the move tool and move the images. I moved mine on top of eachother and you can see my red layer (bottom) and the non red layer (top).

I have now recently downloaded 10.0.2 which is confusing in itself, as, as far as I can ascertain that is actually version 11, but I'm not even sure about that.
Version 10.0.2 is the newest version and the successor to GarageBand '11 (version 6.0.5).
The '11 is referring to the iLife '11 suit of multimedia application - the older GarageBand was a part of this bundle.

I add all new addresses to one of those but am afraid to delete the other address books because some of their addresses are not repeated in my "main" address book. So if I don't delete all the names in one of the existing books, I need to create an empty book that will not mix the addresses with those in another address book.
