How do I create a fade effect w/ a sample?

Hi...
I'm trying to get a certain effect but have yet to stumble across a good way to get the effect.
I want to make a sample repeat until fade... In other words, I want it to play the sample and then loop 3 or 4 times until it fades into nothingness. For some reason I have a feeling there is a few ways to get to this type of sound...
What is the best way? An FX Plugin, Loop/Sample Editor, Inside the DAW itself? Maybe another way?
I'd like to get some tips on how to accomplish this effect... Let me know if I'm not explaining the type of sound I'm looking for properly... But it's basically an echo to fade effect used quite commonly... I just don't know the best way to achieve it.

Ok, follow me on this one.
Create an Instrument track, load the EXS24 Sampler in the instrument slot. Load any drum kit. (note: this could be a one-shot sample on an audio track as well)
Next... load the Stereo Delay into an INSERT.
If you play a snare drum sound are you hearing the ping-pong echo effect. (I know that's not what you're going for, this is just a test.)

p.s. if you loaded the "Sample Delay" plugin, it won't work that's a different type of delay related to timing.
ps.II I suggest trying the tape delay, experiment and become familiar with the controls, also, check out presets on all of the plugs.

can be done in Fireworks, photoshop or xara.
Simply load up the software and create a simple rectangle.
Select you fill
bucket and search for an option "gradient fill". Select the
linear option
and have a play with colours. I would suggest it's a blue to
transparent
gradient. Then you create a text layer and export the result
as a gif (as
it's a simple graphic).
Take the exported graphic and place on your page using your
chosen method.

Hi there,
You can create a scroll motion where the image will fade out on scrolling, you need to use the Opacity tab under Scroll Effects Panel.
If you particularly need the image to be blur out, then you need to edit that image in any image editing program and make one copy of that image as blurred, then place both images (actual and blurred) on that page and use scroll motion or fade option to replace images.

In the Timeline position your Playhead at the starting position.
In the Viewport position the Shape Mask at the starting position.
In the Inspector click the Add Keyframe button.
Press Control-V to open the Animation Editor to see your keyframes.
Move the Playhead and the Shape Mask to a new position.
In the Inspector click the Add Keyframe button.
Continue adding keyframes until you have defined the Shape Mask’s movement.

Have you opened your Aperture ibrary with a version of iPhoto that is newer than your Aperture version? The versions of Aperture and iPhoto must be compatible, to be able to use the same photo library with both applications. Hey,
hope someone can help me, I'm using after effects to create a mp4 file, it contains a photo which has a animation super imposed ontop of it.
When the projects finished the base photo that the animation is created around could change up three times a day.
What I'm trying to work out is a way for a non technical user to just be able to upload the new photo to somewhere and for the animation to be created and returned somehow to him so that the animator doesn't have to re open and edit the affect effect project each time a new photo comes in.
Is there a way to do this built into after effects does any one know?

I am pretty new to After Effects and I'm getting to grips with all the particle effects and have managed to create some cool looking animations, but I'm trying to create the particle effect as seen in the image link below. Create the custom particle in Photoshop or a separate comp. Drag the custom particle into your main comp, turn its visibility off, set Particular's particle setting to "Custom Particle", and choose the new layer as the source.
Create a camera for the comp and turn on "Depth of field". Experiment with the settings until you get the desired effect.
Personally, I'd use two Particular layers for that look, one for the larger particles and another for the smaller ones.

I am working on a music video and I can't seem to find any answer on how to create a specific "glitching" effect.

It looks like copies of her are stretched out across the screen for a second, then come back into place when the glitch is over.

Don't try and pull this off with a single layer. Break down the shot and make each element a separate layer then composite them. At this point how many layers do you see:
I see the background shot, the fill for the TV and a rotoed shot of the girl climbing out of the TV. None of it is particularly difficult but it is impossible without layers.
There are some Bad TV presets that will get you started with the tv distortion. Again, it's just a matter of layers and not necessarily a single plug-in. Noise, distortion, blend modes, color, and other effects combined to create the effect.

To do this Create all the words in one title.
Duplicate and rename the title > then eliminate one word.
Repeat until you have three titles with one word in each.
Set them up stacked on separate video layers
Apply >Motion to each of them using Key Frames for start and end positions and scaling.

The steps you describe are correct, so it sounds like a problem with the program. Is this a new problem or has it always been that way? Do you have this problem with other Blur tools or other Filters, or just the Gaussian Blur? You might want to post another forum topic titled "problem with Gaussian Blur"; more users are likely to read and respond to it.
You might try resetting the preferences file. This often corrects PSE problems which pop up for no apparant reason. I don't know if this works in PSE8, but there is how to do it in previous versions: Press and hold Option-Command-Shift immediately while starting PSE. The timing is critical; you may have to try this several times. A dialog box will pop up with the question "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings file?" (or similar message depending on the PSE version). Click YES.
