How do I create a Forum in Muse.

I have tried to research how to create a Forum in Muse and have not come up with anything.  Is there anyone who has done this?

Muse output static pages only and does not interact with databases to create dynamic content. You could however, take advantage of Adobe hosting through Business Catalyst (webMarketing plan and above) that supports building a forum, however, there is no native support in Muse to integrate that as of yet. You would need to have knowledge of HTML/CSS and CMS's to get this done.
If you search through this forum, you'll find quite a few threads that may be helpful to begin with.
Thanks,
Vinayak

    iWeb itself doesn't offer a way to do this, but consider opening a forum at free, web-based Lefora and hyperlinking from your iWeb site to it:
    http://www.lefora.com
    And as an alternative to setting up a basic text or image hyperlink to your external forum, you can link to it directly from iWeb's navigation bar:
    Create a blank internal page named "Forum" (actually you can name the page whatever you want.) Then in that Forum page add an HTML Snippet with the following code:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    parent.window.location = "http://www.yourforumname.com"; // change this to your own URL
    </script>
    ...Once published, clicking on "Forum" in iWeb's navbar will immediately redirect to your external forum page. (Thanks to Cyclosaurus for the code).

  • How do I create a forum to my website?

    I publish to a folder and use Fetch software to upload my files to another host. Since I don't use Mobile Me there seem to be a number of work around issues to what I want to do. One issue is that we don't have comments, and what we'd really like anyway is to add a forum to the website. I am a "learn as I go" type of user, and have never done this before.
    What is the simplest, least expensive way for me to add a forum on to my existing iWeb site?
    Thanks!

    Another option is:
    http://www.lefora.com
    skypainter07 wrote:
    ...how do I then link the forum to my website? Would I create new page with iWeb that would have an embedded link to the forum site? If so, how do add the embedding exactly?
    Hyperlinking to an external page from the navbar:
    Link it to a blank internal page titled "Forum". In that Forum page add an HTML Snippet with the following code:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    parent.window.location = "http://www.yourforumname.lefora.com"; // change this to your own URL
    </script>
    Clicking on the Forum page in the navbar will immediately redirect to your external Forum page. (Thanks to Cylosuaurs for the code).
    Standard hyperlinking is explained here:

  • How do I create a Forum Button?

    In other words, I have already created the artwork and I have it in my library.  Is there a tutorial, or can someone please tell me step by step how to link it to my website's forum?
    I've watched this video a couple of times: http://video.google.com/videosearch?hl=en&source=hp&q=flash+cs4+hyperlink&um=1&ie=UTF-8&ei =_TW0StObEISKNuGgyNoO&sa=X&oi=video_result_group&ct=title&resnum=5#  but I must be missing something as the panel tells me that no actions can be applied this object (my button).  Yes, I've already converted it into a symbol - movie clip, and named it 'Forum'.
    Thank you!

    If it's on the stage does it have an instance name?  If it doesn't or if you don't know what an instance name is then select your button and look at the properties panel and where it says instance name put a name in.  When you have an instance name you can access it from the main timeline using that name.  The code would go something like this:
    forum.buttonMode = true;
    forum.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, handleClick);
    function handleClick(e:MouseEvent):void {
         var myURL:URLRequest = new URLRequest("http://www.jimslounge.com/");
         navigateToURL(myURL);

  • How do I create page transitions in Adobe Muse?

    I don't want the typical "Click on my navigation bar" and go to another page look to my site.  I want to add effects so my site will scroll vertically like this ...how can I create this effect in Muse?
    Thanks!

    Look for tutorials on using the Paralax scrolling effect. It does exactly that. I believe there is even a tutorialfor that right on the welcome screen when you open Muse.

    How can I create a table with muse?

    Muse doesn't natively support building tables at this time.
    However, you can add HTML table through Object -> Insert HTML option as a way around that.
    http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_tables.asp
    You could even try aligning a few text boxes with/without Stroke applied to create an editable tabular look in Design mode.

  • Forums in Muse?

    Trying to create a forum in Muse but so far it's impossible.  This page Business Catalyst Help | Add a forum says to "Select Modules > Forums, and click Details." yet never tells you where "Modules" is.  When you try to look up Modules you get this page Business Catalyst Help | Customize modules with the instructions to "Select Site Manager > Module Templates and click a module template."  But when you click on "Site Manager" THERE IS NO MODULE TEMPLATES OPTION!
    How am I supposed to make a forum in Muse when the instructions refer to things that don't even exist?  There's no way to contact anyone at Adobe, they keep putting me here where there are no answers.  There is no tech support, there is nobody to help, yet I'm paying them every month for what?  Headaches and confusion?  I've already lost a client and $5,000 because Adobe does everything it can to avoid responsibility and refuses to talk to their customers, and now I'm probably going to lose another client because of their ineptitude in giving directions for things that don't exist.
    I need to put a forum in Muse, Adobe says in several places that you can put forums in Muse, yet the instructions are impossible to follow because key components don't exist.  So how do I put a forum into a Muse site?  Anyone know?

    Thanks for your response. So I build the template into Muse, take that code
    and drop it into the BC page templates? Then wrap the BC forum template
    into the page that I created? I sound novice because I'm still learning the
    interaction between BC and Muse. Please respond, thanks again.

  • How can i integrate adobe flex into muse?

    Working with Flex and changing the skins is just not my thing, so please tell me how can i create a website thru Muse and still use flex developers applications running on the site?

    Since flex publishes SWF files. Muse support SWF (Flash) files. Embed the codes generated in flash builder (Not the entire HTML but the codes starting from the flash embed stuff, you should be familiar with those codes) that would be found in the HTML as arbitrary HTML into Muse and your Flex application will run smoothly. (Except their is a bug in Muse, it should work).

  • Creating a Forum Page in Dreamweaver

    How do I create a Forum page in dreamweaver? I am not
    familiar with designing pages that website viewers may add content

    Dreamweaver has no facility for creating forums. Your best
    bet is to look at one of the free forum application packages, like
    phpBB for PHP or Snitz for ASP.

  • How do I create a simple message board (forum)

    I am a BC new-bee. How do I create a simple message board (forum) in BC to use on a Muse site since no widget is available there.

    No worries,
    The simple way should be that:
    open your forum page in Muse
    under "object" > "insert HTML" > paste "{module_forum,a,}"
    click ok
    move the textbox to the right position
    now publish this page to your bc site
    if you have any forums set up in the admin of your site (http://yourdomain.com/admin) it should show you the title of the forum.
    if there are no forums set up, you will need to create a forum in bc (Modules > Forums)
    Try this and let me know how it turned out.

  • How do you create a seach box in MUSE?

    how do you create a seach box in MUSE? - viewer enters a keyword and will be lead to correct product

    Hi there - For questions about individual programs, you're better off posting in their specific forums. Here's the Muse forum: http://forums.adobe.com/community/muse/general_questions_about_adobe_muse
    That being said, there is currently not a search bar widget that can be added to a site directly from within Muse. However, you can add custom HTML code to your page, with a method such as this: http://www.ehow.com/how_6772398_embed-google-search-bar.html. Just add the custom HTML to your Muse page by going to Object > Insert HTML.

    I have been looking around for solutions but I can't find one.
    I was just hoping that someone else might have known of a way.
    Thanks!

    Since you can access the Alpha File Manager it means the option to "Enable online content editing (incompatible with Muse)" is ticked up under your profile details. With this enabled you can create Web Forms under Site Manager. Once you create the contact form open the Alpha File Manager (AFM), select the page where you want to insert this and choose the Web Forms from the right hand column. On the pop-up window select the web form to insert and click Insert.
    Regarding the upgrade, as long as the site is in trial mode you can choose any plan for the site, see my answer #7. Create a new trial site, choose the link to the new trial site created from PP and publish your site there for testing purposes so you will have ecommerce included and available for you to try out.
    If things go well you can request an upgrade to your current site to have the ecommerce included (the only situation in which this upgrade won't be available is when the site is published on one of the 5 sites received with the CCM subscription, they are webBasics and cannot be upgraded: http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/publish-anywhere.html under "Publish websites" section, and the option will be to create the site from partner portal and publish the content from Muse)
    At this moment indeed there's little documentation on how to integrate the two but this is because Muse is just not ready to take advantage of BC capabilities. It was never intended for CMS features of BC to be available in version 1 of Muse. This has already been mentioned a few times (one relevant example: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4355214#4355214#4355214)
