How do I create a HREF link to javascript-created pages?

Hello,
I'm not sure where else to turn with this question, so I
apologize if it's not forum-related.
I'm using DreamWeaver MX to edit and tweak pages that are
created with Extensis Portfolio 8 and their NetPublish plug in. I
am attemping to add a link to my Search, Results and Details pages
that would open each of these pages in a new window in order to
make them "printer-friendly" (these pages are currently nested
within a few frames). The catalog that I've created features
keyworded photos, and since the users will all get different search
results based on what they're looking for, the address will always
vary (especially for the Results page). An example of this address
would be:
http://ourwebadress/netpub/server.np?find=&catalog=catalog&site=catalognamehere&template=
results.np&field=Keywords&op=matches&value=Dallas&value=brownstone&field2=Keywords&op2=
matches&search=View+Your+Search+Results
This address shows images based on my search for "Dallas" and
"brownstone," and because this address would change with every new
search it's useless as a permanent link.
My questions is, is there an HREF link command (or perhaps
something else) that would simply open the existing page in a new
window, no matter what the page's current HTTP address is? Any
insight with this would be very appreciated!
Many Thanks!

Thank you.  After renaming the ePub file extension to ZIP, I updated the html files to replace the "http://tel" with "tel", rezipped the files, renamed to ePub -- and this corrected the issue.

  • How can I create a working link from the home page to other pages?

    Using iWeb, I created links on the Home page directed to other pages within my web site. The links are located in the main body of the Home page (on the right side) and are not included in the Navigation Menu. The links function correctly when I test them in iWeb, however, the links do not function at all after publishing to the internet.
    Within the inspector, I have chosen, Link To: "One of my pages" and the appropriate page is selected.
    The links within the gray rectangles do not function. The same links below the gray rectangle links go to a "Page Not Found" page.
    See the home page at http://www.daleenstrom.com
    How can I make these links function correctly?

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions. I've found that using the "One of my pages" often doesn't work. Since you've published the site go to each page, copy its URL and use it for the hyperlink. I've found that to me more reliable.
    Are those two links inside the shapes or just on top? Both of those items are one large image file. If you inserted the link in the shape be sure you've selected the text (might take a few clicks to get inside and select it) to use for the hyperlink. Also make sure there are no other objects overlapping each of the shaped with the hyperlinked text.
    Also it appears that the entire text box is an image. Turn on iWeb's preferences to display the text image indicator:
    Click to view full size
    and then you'll see the following on any object that will be converted to text once published:
    Click to view full size
    The two links below work for me. Be sure to clear your browsers cache (CommandOptionE for Safari) and reload the page.

  • How Can I Remove the Home Link on the Main Page

    I am using PT 8.49 and I am creating a custom page where the only options I'd like to show on the page are my custom menu option and "Sign out" at the top right. I'd like to remove the "Home" link on the top right menu because I am doing the selection for them. I don't want them to be able to go back to the Home menu once they've entered my custom page. I have everything working the way I'd like except that I cannot get rid of the "Home" link. Can anyone help with that?
    I am also using a template in portal called HOMEPAGE_DESIGNER_TEMPLATE as this causes the page to display without the left menu, as I want it to be.

  • How do I add an html link/banner to a page in my flash website?

    I purchased a flash website template and am in the process of editing my main.fla file.  In order to get listed on an advertising website with a higher rating, I have to place a reciprocal link to them on my site.  However, I cannot figure out how to place an html link/banner on my site for other businesses.  If I paste the html code in a text box, all that shows up is the html code rather than the image and link it is meant to generate.  Please help!

    Flash only supports a small amount of html in text areas.  If what you re trying to include is within what it supports, then you assign the text to the textfield using the htmlText property of the TextField...
    tfield.htmlText = "<a href="...">link</a>"; // will display "link" as a link

  • Indesign to ebook-kindle: how to make table of contents link/jump to first page each chapter?

    I have successfully completed the "ebooks: from adobe indesign to the kindle store.pdf"
    I have InDesign CS 5, not 5.5.
    I did the indesign doc - export to epub, then converted that epub in Calibre to MOBI format for kindle.
    But how do I make a table of contents that link or jump to the beginning of its respective chapter head?
    THANKS!!!

    Yes, that fixed it, thanks! I had no idea they clashed like that. I ruthlessly purged all other tables of contents, and then used Layout > Table of Contents to create a new one, and it worked.
    It made more sense after seeing in this thread that table of contents styles are more like presets or entities than styles.

    Hi pasumarthi,
    Great question! Try putting the following code in the Private Sub RSWVBAPage_afterPlay(). If you run into problems, please reply to this message. This code can also be copied into a custom vba test if you wanted to test the number of links and images on the page against a specific number.
    'Variable declarations
    Dim images As Collection
    Dim links As Collection
    Dim resultbImages As Boolean
    Dim resultbLinks As Boolean
    Dim item As Object
    'Initialize variables

    resultbLinks = False
    'Get all the elements that have a tag of IMG
    resultbImages = RSWApp.om.FindElements(images, , "IMG")
    'Get all the elements that have a tag of A

  • Invoking  A Href="link to a web page" inside ICE Browser /

    Hello
    I would like to invoke a .
    The doc says that i can use,
    Popups are supported through the Oracle Help popup protocol. For example: Sheet Definition
    The keyword that follows the popup protocol is a topic ID, as specified in the helpset's map file. When the pop-up link is clicked, the contents of the file associated with the topic ID is displayed in a lightweight pop-up window. For example, select this link to display a popup defined as follows: this link
    Yes i tried the above. It was slick, and it showed in a LightWeight Window insider the ICE Browser. But i need an option to again browse that Light weight window that was displayed by the ICE Browser. I dont need the full functionality to work in the resulting LightWeight window, atleast i should be able to click the links ie which have <A Hrefs in the light weight window>
    For instance.
    The and pass the control over there. The users should be able to browse the Admin Guide if they want.
    Is there any work around for this. Please advice if i am following the correct route/approach for this problem.
    The platform this is needed to work are Windows/Aix. Hence is there a solution where, the webpage is displayed in the full ICE Browser viewer instead of the LightWeight viewer ?

    It seems to me that the idea of a <wintype> should provide exactly the mechanisms that kishorekumar wants. By adding this to his map file:
    <mapID target="yahoo" url="http://www.yahoo.com" wintype="external"/>
    It seems to me that a proper <wintype> declaration in the helpset file would allow authors to have what Sun calls "secondary" windows in their JavaHelp application. That is, an actual JFrame object with the HTML display component and the "expected" browser navigation buttons (forward, back, print, etc.).
    However, this only works if the help system is not in "docked" mode. Even then, it has one big problem in that the window containing the link is closed.
    This is one aspect of OHJ that I would really like Oracle to work on. I haven't gotten around to working with this until today, but I think the wintype logic needs the following changes:
    -- Links to pages with different wintypes should work even when the current window is "docked"
    -- Links to pages with different wintypes should not close the current window
    -- If there are multiple entries in the Map file that map a single URL to multiple wintypes (as in the example map file in the documentation), the wintype should be selected as follows:
    1) If the link uses the topicid: protocol, use the wintype specified for that mapID
    2) If the link uses a URL that maps to several ID's, select as follows:
    1) Look for a mapID specifying the current wintype
    2) Look for a mapID specifying the default wintype
    3) Use the first mapID found

  • How to go to anchor html link from external html page in JEditorPane

    Hi people,
    I've been trying to jump to an anchor link from an external html page in JEditorPane, and I cannot get it working, I'm sure it can be done somehow...
    The HTML page has a link like:
    Hello
    and this is loaded into JEditorPane ok.
    The HyperlinkListener implementation:
    public void hyperlinkUpdate( HyperlinkEvent e )
    try {
    if ( e.getEventType() == HyperlinkEvent.EventType.ACTIVATED )
    editorPane_.setPage( getClass().getResource(
    MyDialog.this.getBaseURL().concat( e.getURL().getFile().substring(
    e.getURL().getFile().lastIndexOf( "/" ) + 1 ) ) ) );
    if ( e.getURL().getRef() != null )
    editorPane_.scrollToReference( e.getURL().getRef() );
    else return;
    } catch ( IOException ioe ) { ioe.printStackTrace(); }
    This code loads the new html file ok, but it does not scroll to the anchor. The MyDialog.this.getBaseURL() just returns something like com.name.package, I construct the URL by using this base url and the name of the html file to open.
    ANy help, thanks

    he! I'm not alone in my desperation. Take a look at my problem:
    I've got a JEditorPane (not editable) inside a JFrame. The JEditorPane is loaded with the HTML text and all the links to anchors are working properly when I click on them.
    BUT
    If I try to go to an anchor from outside this JFrame I can see how the JEditorPane scrolls to the right anchor and suddenly it scrolls back to the place where the caret was located!!!
    The "funny thing" is that my code is working in jdk1.3.1 but this is happening in jdk1.4.2. Is it a bug?!?!?!
    How could I figure out what position I have to set the caret to for every anchor in order to get the scroll working correctly???
    My implementation of hyperlinkUpdate (working properly, here isn't the problem):
       jEditorPane.addHyperlinkListener(new HyperlinkListener() {
          public void hyperlinkUpdate(HyperlinkEvent e) {
            if (e.getEventType() == HyperlinkEvent.EventType.ACTIVATED) {
              MiEditorPane src = (MiEditorPane)e.getSource();
              src.goToAnchor(e.getDescription().substring(1));
        });My object jEditorPane is an instance of this class:
      class MiEditorPane extends JEditorPane {
        MiEditorPane() {
          super();
        public void goToAnchor(String anchor) {
          super.scrollToReference(anchor);
      }And this is the method I call from outside the JFrame containing the JEditorPane:
      public void goToAnchor(String anchor) {
         jEditorPane.goToAnchor(anchor);
      }Any help greatly appreciated ...

  • Creating an email link within a Muse page?

    I want to create an standalone (not within a contact form) email link in Muse. Do I simply highlight an email address within a text box and apply a hyperlink witht the corresponding email address ([email protected])? Or does it need to be a spearate element/text box to do so?
    Thanks, in advance.

    Hello Stephen,
    You can just highlight the email address and put the email address in the hyperlink field. It will hyperlink the email address and when user will click on it, it will automatically open their default e-mail client with an email having the mentioned email id in the "To" filed.
    Regards,
    Sachin

  • A HREF LINKS TO NEW JSP PAGES

    hiya i got an sql statement that outputs results into an html table on a jsp.
    these results come in the form:
    if(rs.next()) {
    %>
    <DIV ALIGN = "left">
    <TABLE border = "0">
    <TR>
    <TD>
    <%=rs.getString("Forename") + " " + rs.getString("Surname")%>
    </TD>
    </TR>
    </TABLE>
    </DIV>
    <%
    break;
    so the table that comes up lists the Forename and Surname of the person(s) matching the search.
    now when someone clicks on the name it should go to ApplicantForm.jsp and what i need to do is depending on what person they click on i want to pass the variables through to ApplicantForm.jsp
    so lets say the results are...
    John Smith
    Joe Bloggs
    CHA CHING
    now if someone clicks CHA CHING i want it to know that they have clicked that and send the variables forename=CHA and surname=CHING to ApplicantForm.jsp
    ...and then the same for any other result selected...
    is there any way this can be done?
    thanks :o)

    You can do it like this:
    <%
    final String name=rs.getString("Forename");
    final String surName=rs.getString("Surname");
    %>
    <a href="ApplicantForm.jsp?name=<%=UrlEncoder.encode(name)%>&surname=
    <%=UrlEncoder.encode(surName)%>"><%=name%> <%=surName%>
    </a>

  • Create URL that links to anchor on page

    I'm putting together a long page that will have different blog posts. My intention is to publicise these posts via MailChimp or similar. My question is: is there a way to provide a link to subscribers that will take them to the specific part of this long page that will contain all the blog posts?
    Or should I approach this a different way?
    Thanks in advance,
    Steve

    Hi Aish, hi David,
    For some reason I can't get the anchor to work as expected. Here's the URL: BLOG
    This works by sending the user to the page, but not to the anchor on that page (the anchor is directly above the 7 thumbnails of business cards).
    Any clues as to what I might be doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance,
    Steve
