Select clip in timeline and place the playhead over the frame you want to save as a JPEG. Open the share window ( Button on far right of tool bar) and select 'Save current frame'. If you don't see that option click on add destination and select the Save current frame choice. It will be added to your share options.

A jpg image is saved by FCE in a new file, while a freeze frame in FCE is a still picture used for a sequence in a project, but not saved separately.
To make a jpg, position the playhead in the timeline on the frame you want to save and Export/Using QuickTime Conversion and select Format: Still Image.
You are asked for a file name.
To make a freeze frame, position the playhead in the timeline on the frame you want to reuse within the project and Modify/Make Freeze Frame. This leaves a new still in the viewer: you can drag it to the timeline, drag it to the browser, etc.. - However this does not create a separate file but stays embedded in the project where it is used.

Try exporting a reference quicktime of your sequence and reimporting it into your project. Drop it in a sequence. Use the Time remap tool (click and hold in the select edit points tool until you see the icon that looks like a clock and choose it). Click and drag the end of your clip until it's at the 4 min mark.

How can I get a .jpeg image from my video image?

I want to take an image I captured on film, and turn one frame into a .jpeg file so I can use it in Photoshop. I've created a freeze frame by hitting SHIFT+N .... but now how can I use this image elsewhere? Or is there another way?

What I always do is go to File> Export Using Quicktime Conversion> then on the bottom change the "Format" option to "Still Image" and change the "Use" option to whatever you like. (JPG, BMP, etc.)
Just make sure your on the frame you would like to export.
There might be a better way but this hopefully helps.

1. Pick a Custom Shape
2. Set the tool options to Shape
3. Select the Fill color
Draw out your shape and you should see a layer in the Layers panel named Shape 1

Yes, that's correct, at least not directly. You can create a blank disk image, copy the file to the mounted disk image, then burn the image to a CD/DVD.
Open Disk Utility and select Blank Disk Image from the New menu. Provide a name, Save location, and select the image size from the drop down menu. Leave Encryptions at None and Format as read/write. Click on the Create button.
After the image file appears the "removable" disk should be automatically mounted. If not double-click on it to mount it. A "removable" disk icon will appear. Drag the file you want to place on the disk image to the "removable" disk icon. The eject the "removable" disk icon. Now select the disk image file in the DU left side list and click on the Burn icon in the DU toolbar. Be sure to have a blank disc ready.
The above is actually the "long" way to do this. A much easier way is to simply insert a blank CD or DVD into the optical drive. The Finder will pop up a dialog asking what to do. Select the option to mount on the Desktop. You will now see a disc icon on the Desktop. Drag the file you want to burn to the CD/DVD, right-click or CTRL-click on the disc icon and select Burn from the contextual menu.

You need to have the disc in order to create disk image of snow leopard installer disc. What did your machine ship with? If something later than SL, then why? If earlier, then you can buy the SL installer disc and make the disk image.

Since the hdr image is probably 32 bits/Channel, you would need to go to Image>Mode and choose either 16 or 8 bits/channel.
Then in the HDR Toning dialog use the Exposure and Gamma Method with the Exposure set to Zero and Gamma set to One.
Then you should be able to save out your image as a jpeg.

When you place your images in exactly the size you saved them in Photoshop or whatever, Muse doesn’t touch it.
The quality in this case is the quality you saved the image.
The best way is, to examine in Muse the available pixel size of the image and then use Photoshop to obtain this size
