Hi there
How do I create a new icloud email address for my apple id? My original email address is associated with my previous employers.
When I send email from my Macbook, it seems as if I still work there, which is a problem.
I would like to use the email address that I created for my iPad.
When I login with my appleid (for my macbook) I keep getting the old company one, not the new one.
Is there any way of resolving this? I

You CANNOT change your iCloud email address once it is created and associated to you Apple Id (usually it is another email address). First time you activate iCloud on your device and turn on email setting, you are prompted to create an iCloud email account and after choosing one that is available you are CLEARLY warned that ONCE CREATED YOU iCLOUD EMAIL IT CANNOT BE CHANGED!!!

You have two choices: a) create an alias for that account after you sign in icloud.com using either your apple id or your new created icloud email account (that's what I did) or b) create a new Apple Id (with all the pain it involves)
I typed an incorrect iCloud email address and was linked to my Apple Id and now I have to live with this forever!?
The workaround was to create an alias, but I have the feeling that something is wrong with my Apple Id
All of us might make a petition to apple to allow us to change the 'main' icloud email address. What if I misspelled it!? How difficult can it be?

Under there address section is an option to populate the email address.

Once you have created an iCloud account and chosen an @icloud.com address to go with it you can't change the address (short of creating an entirely new account).
However, all is not lost. You can add up to three 'email aliases' - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. (In fact it's a good idea to give out alias addresses, rather than the main address, because if they attract spam you can easily change them.) (New aliases can only be @icloud.com ones; @me.com addresses cannot now be created.)
You should be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account, move it to another account, or reactivate it if you delete it.

I want to stop having my gmail be the account's main email for the Apple ID but I can't seem to find a way to neither make a new icloud email nor make my old MobileMe email be the new replacement. Is there any possibility of making an iCloud email that can replace my gmail so I can't stop being notified about anything Apple related on a gmail account? You can if you create an new Apple ID at the time you create the iCloud account, and choose to create a new @icloud.com email address as your primary email address when creating the ID. You could not use your existing @icloud.com email address as it is already an alias for your existing iCloud ID; you would have to create a new one.

Whenever you create a new icloud email it is an Apple ID, but if you previously had an Apple ID you cannot use the new email to replace the old one. You have to abandon the old accout and you will lose all the content you had with that account. But what I did was upload all my itunes to amazon cloud, these were the only purchases I had. I already bought books from kindle and I now rent movies from amazon instant video. Everytime I log in I use my icloud email and password. I just used it to sign in to support communities.
The notification that you posted about changing your Apple ID was present when I created my icloud email and made the change.
