How do I create a search option?

Hi,
I am new to the web design world, but I do basic web
maintenance for a company that needs a search option on it's
homepage. The company sells buses and wants visitors to the site to
be able to look for, if need be, a particular bus by searching for
the corresponding stock # instead of having to look through the
whole inventory list to find it. I've gotten as far as creating the
search forms on the homepage but, I get totally lost trying to set
up the results page, etc. Our databases are all on our in house
servers, so I don't believe I need out-sourced data storage
(MySQL.com?)
I know there's probably many more bits of info I need to
provide in order to recieve a full answer, so any suggestions to
set me on the right path to being able to provide that info would
be great!:)

How can I create a search filter on my muse project?

How can I create a search filter on my muse project like the 'sort by' function of this website? http://trufcreative.com/work
By that I mean be able to narrow down the content displayed on a single page (preferably with an animation) without having the switch pages or reload the browser.
I'm assuming this isn't something Muse can do natively, but if anyone knows the code, and how to make it work with Muse, that would be awesome.

? how do I create a 'Search' system without being linked to a server ?

Hello,
I have a project which I am trying to make simple and would like your help.
I need to create a 'navigation system' which at the moment is a series of Flash .swf files uploaded to a Dreamweaver HTML page.
Now I need to get them working together like a 'tag' or a search system, but I don't want to get a server involved.
Is it possible to create something that operates like a website but without being linked to a server?

you can populate your data into an html table or xml syntax and then use srpy to create a search without the need for a database.

How can I create a search plugin for multiple fields

There are a number of sites that have search capabilities but they require entries into multiple fields.
One such site is for instance the IBM Employee directory.

On this site - in order to get usable results - I have to enter both First name and Last name of the employee I'm looking for.
I created a search plugin for the site, however I wasn't able to split the entered text into two parts and provide them as separate fields for the form.
Is there a way to do this?

This is excellent. Not search-plugin though but but this is as good as a search-plugin. (Even better, as I haven't seen any solution with the plugins for the problem.)
I didn't know that it was possible to use javascript as bookmark location.

How to remove 'Create new employee' option for a scenario in org modelling?

Hi Luke,
We want to remove 'create new employee' option that appears under 'actions' in details panel for a position in scenario (for org chart).
I checked in linkconfiguration folder for position, but it doesn't show this option to be disabled. I also checked detailspresentationconfiguration folder but no luck. I am assuming, it must be pretty different to achieve this for a scenario object.

I'm not entirely sure this can be changed. It doesn't appear to be controlled through configuration or XSL. My guess is it is hard-coded.

How do I create a Search window in a RoboHelp HTML 8 topic pane?

I am working in RoboHelp HTML version 8 that is published as WebHelp. The system I am developing for has a search window as part of a skin that is available above the topic windows and is not always easily accessible. Can you create a search window to appear in individual help panes like they do in Microsoft Office Word 2007's Help? (to do this, can you use skins within each Help topic pane?) Or can a link or a button be created within a help topic pane to bring up a search window as a popup? If so, can you give me high level steps to doing these tasks? thanks.

Although you can open RoboHelps search pane in a popup, the search function will not function. I guess the easiest is to use another tool for your search, one that you customize into what you need. UCCX 8.5 - How do I create a menu option that overwites a prompt?

Hi All,
I'm fairly new to UCCX scripting and have a question about a way to create a menu option that overwrites a prompt.
Here is the situation, we have only one small call center. There are two scripts in play here, one is their production script. Everythign is working fine with that script. The other is a recording script. The call center supervisors would like to be able to call into the recording script and record a prompt that says something like "All agents will be out today, November 1st, until 2pm on a staff luncheon, please call back at 2pm". This would overwrite the welcome prompt on their production script. As you can see from the language above, the message would be different depending on what was going on that day. I actually have this working quite well.
The problem is that when they come back from their luncheon, or from whatever they were doing, they want the ability to revert back to the original opening greeting wav file. The way it's set up now, when they get back from lunch they'd have to re-record the whole opening greeting "Thank you for calling XXX, press 1 to be connected to an agent, press 2...".
It seems like there should be a way, a new menu option in the recording script, that would allow me to revert back to the original recording so they don't need to re-record the opening greeting every time. I've created a new folder in Prompt Managment called "Revert" and placed the orginal opening greeting there. Can anyone give me guidance on what step to insert that would in effect say, if the caller presses 3, copy "Revert/Welcome.wav" to "CallCenter/Welcome.wav"? In this case the "CallCenter" folder contains the production prompts for the CallCenter script.

     I would recommend the following configuration:
          1.) Setup a XML file that has an option called "EarlyClose" or something similar.
          2.) Setup your script with an "IF" that reads in that XML document and looks for "EarlyClose". If it's set, then play the custom closed message. If not, then play the normal message that is never overwritten.
     The second part is to create a second script that has an internal only extension. This would then allow your supervisor to dial in, and put in a PIN. Once this is done, set have the agent record the greeting. Then (and only then) set the "EarlyClose" variable in your XML document. This will prevent the user not getting the new prompt recorded and EarlyClose being set early. You can also setup the script to play back the prompt and then have the end user validate that everything is working right. I would recommend reading through the scripting guides as they have some great infomation on this type of thing and example scripts. I hope this helps you out.

Hello developers,
So, I am supposed to come with a credit card sales report that will enable the end user to search for the last 4 digits and be able to see where the sale was made, (location); transaction #; dollar amount, payment location, store #, and purchase details..
The tables seems obvious, I am just not quite sure about the search part. . How do I go about put the option of letting end-users be able to search for the last # digits and then see everything else. I am brand new into OBIEE

I would suggest use this column as char type and in the prompt
use Operator as 'ends with' and then Control as 'Edit Box'. In the report make this column as Is Prompted.
Using the column as number type I dont see any way to do it. Just give a try.

How do you create a search box for visitors to search keywords on your website?

I know I did this a while back using dreamweaver and cannot figure out how I did it. I feel like I copy and pasted some html stuff into my site and it created itself. Can you do this or do you need to download something? If I need to download, any recomendations? Also, if html, anyone know where I can find it? OR if this is all wrong how do you do this? How to auto create Report Search functions and Breadcrumb Menu on new pages

First off I want to say I have just started using Html DB, and think its a great product! I have been using it for a few months now to create an application, and find it flexible, powerful, but still fairly simple to use.
When I create a new Application using "Based on Existing Tables", the pages that get created have some very nice Report Search functions and Breadcrumb Menu features generated automatically.
I want to do the same when I add pages to an existing application. That is, I want new pages to automatically include those Report Search functions and Breadcrumb Menu features.
I have tried various combinations of the existing wizards, but I have not been able to find any that generate all those features automatically. I know I can create pages using the page wizard, and then manually add the Report Search and Breadcrumb Menu. But that is very tedious. Nor can I find a better answer in the forum
Any suggestions or ideas?

I have a parameter with a search help that shows columns BUKRS and BUTXT for ALL rows form the table T001. What I need is restrict the search help to show only three Values: BUKRS = 1000 BUKRS = 2000 BUKRS = 3000. This is like a search help with a SELECT sentence. How do I do it?

you can go through thomas sir's suggestion. But my suggestion is If you are working in a custom Report , dont change it at Table level or Domail Level., Instead, use Function Module for Custom F4 help.,

How to supress the defaulted search option in catalogs

This might be a long shot but I have the following situation:
In a shopping cart a user picks a material from Catalog X , category Y. The next time he opens the catalog X, directly the same category Y is diplayed in the search, in other words, SRM remembers the last search of the user and defaults it. We would like that everytime the user enters the catalog X, it starts the search from zero (with all the categories displayed).
Can we supress this automatic default in the search from the Catalog? Is there a user attribute which provokes the defaulting?
We use CCM 2.0 and SRM 5.0

There is no specific 'fix' for this in CCM 2.0, but in CCM 1.0 the functionality was provided.

This functionlaity was never transferred to CCM 2.0 as it was deemed to be the incorrect way to handle the search UI and the original, last items displayed, approach was taken.
