I have one mac book pro and my wife and I have iphone 5s'...we both sync our phones to itunes on the Mac but her stuff gets sync to my phone all the time. How do I stop that from happening?

Are you both signed onto the same iCloud account? What "stuff" are you referring to that syncs to your phone all the time?

How do I create a second user? I want to make sure she cannot access my files, alter my settings, etc. But I want her to be able to save whatever she is working on. Open System Preferences -> Users & Groups and use the plus sign to add a new user. You can elect to give your daughter admin privileges or not, etc.

Thanks. I will try going through TM. Since my Simpletech is on the way out, I'll be plugging in a new external hard drive (other than the back-up drive) and trying to restore the library to the new drive. Any advice or warning if this is NOT the right thing to do?
Meanwhile, that is a great tip to do an alternate back-up using a different means. It's been tough to figure out how to "preserve access" to digital images and files for posterity, knowing the hardware will always fail/obsolesce sooner or later, and that "clouds" are only as good as their consistent and reliable accessibility. Upping the odds with redundancy will help dull the edge of my "access anxiety", though logically, it can never relieve it. Will look into
Carbon Copy Cloner.

As you said, I recommend to create a new user account and create a new iTunes library on that user with the content of the iPod. If you sync it with your user account, you will get on the iPod the content from a different Apple ID and maybe content that you don't want.
To create a new user account, open System Preferences > Users & Groups, and press the + button that it's below the left sidebar (where users are listed). Then, just follow the steps to set up the user account.

Checking the behaviour in another user account is a TEST, not a solution! You don't need to move everything over. Otherwise, every time you get a user account problem, you'll keep moving to a new user account again and again.
If the problem does not occur in a new user account, then the cause is something IN your user account. This is usually a Preference file. Adobe Bridge seems to crash a lot, and it can usually be fixed by deleting the Bridge folder in <user>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/
You can also try deleting the Bridge preference file, which will be in <user>/Library/Preferences, and called com.adobe.bridge5.plist (or similar).
If that doesn't work, you can test removing a whole bunch of the various Adobe files in those folders. You can always put them back if they don't change anything. And you've got a backup, haven't you? ;-)

Creating a second user account to do online banking?

Someone went onto my Macbook Pro and went to many questionable sites using a few of my different browsers. I have no way of knowing if anything was downloaded in the background (I am not concerned that the person did anything intentionally) and I am now afraid to do online banking on it. I have cleared the cache of all the browsers, though I feel the only way to be 100% is to format and reinstall, though I do not have time to do that now.
If I create a new user account from the admin account that was used to go to the sites, would that be completely isolated and separate from the admin account that could have in theory had something done to it?

If you trust the person and are simply afraid he/she might have downloaded something stupid without knowing better, get a copy of [ClamXav|http://www.clamxav.com> and scan the hard drive. Need solid help creating a second user account identical to the first user account on one laptop

I am in the process of setting up a new Windows 8.1 laptop for my parents. Currently, there is just one user admin account on it - my dad's. Coming from Windows XP, this has been an unexpectedly lengthy and complex process.
So as to avoid having to fine-tune so many settings a second time for my mom, how can I create an exact duplicate (or make a copy) of Dad's account for Mom to use?
In a nutshell...
One laptop: Currently have one admin account named "Dad". Want to duplicate/copy "Dad" EXACTLY and name it "Mom".
I cannot find a clear cut answer on this even though I have searched for hours and hours. Previously, it seems that many users utilized Microsoft's Easy Transfer to accomplish this feat; however, this is no longer an option for Windows 8.1 users. Also, there
are a few "guides", but they often contradict each other.
Through extensive research, one of my resulting primary concerns is that doing this the wrong way has the potential of essentially destroying all of the hard work that I have put into my dad's account.
Specifically, I have read that one particular method is not meant to preserve the original account for continued use so much as it is meant to transfer salvageable settings and files from a corrupt account to a new one. However, other "guides" say
to use that particular method.
So much mind-boggling confusion! Any solid help and/or solid guides would be greatly appreciated beyond measure!

I can get it to show the songs or playlists I wish to share and she can play them on the computer, but she (daughter) cannot bring them into her stuff or save them to her ipod. Everything was successful and after that. I can see the new user account under my hard drive > User folder but I dont have privilege to open the file.
And on the other hand, I got no way to login that user ID.
How can I fix that?

what do you mean? do you mean the migrated user doesn't show up at the login window? or that the password doesn't work?

I have created a second user account on my mac. Why is this account is not shown on initial log-in screen?

Open the terminal and type:
nireport / /users name uid | grep "5[0123456789][0123456789]"
This should report all users that are in the 500+ range for the user ID. User accounts generally start at 501, and work up, so look at the list returned, and pick the next available number to assign to the new user you are creating. You will use it in place of the uid 555 below.

Time machine for second user account erases other backups

I have a system drive and one other drive (two partitions: Files and Movies) on my iMac, and have been using Time Machine to back up these three drives.
Yesterday I created a second user account, but when logged in to that account Time Machine started to back up, it erased the previous backups and started from scratch, just backing up the system drive.
Can anyone tell me how to avoid this happening please?

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.
Enter the word "Starting" (without the quotes) in the String Matching text field. You should now see log messages with the words "Starting * backup," where * represents any of the words "automatic," "manual," or "standard." Note the timestamp of the last such message. Clear the text field and scroll back in the log to that time. Post the messages timestamped from then until the end of the backup, or the end of the log if that's not clear.
Post the log text, please, not a screenshot. If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don't post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into a message.
Some personal information, such as the names of your files, may be included — edit that out, too, but don’t remove the context.
