How do I create a selector within Xcelsius that launches an excel file or a pdf?

We are using Crystal Xcelsius 4.5 and would like to have a radio button on the portal that launches an excel or pdf file. How do I create that button.

I have 2 URL Link components one for a PDF and one for a Excel Sheet. The PDF works fine when you click the button. But when I click the Excel Link button, it opens a new window and right away i get ACTION CANCELED, if i Refresh it opens, but i would like to open it on the first click.
Anybody experienced this and was able to fix it?

Instead of dragging points back to the road every time it pulls you onto a faster route, can I just say "use RT20 as much as possible?"
Or as simple as choosing a point on a US Route and selecting the entire length as a trip. The idea is to plan trips throughout the USA avoiding interstates, and staying on the actual original routes.
I am posting this here at request from Microsoft Support Engineer as a more complex request.

This is already on the feature request list from one other person. This would take a lot of work to implement from a technical side of things. given that only one other person has requested this, there isn't much of a business case for this yet.

Thanks for the quick reply. I figured out how to get the desired results by using tagging. For anyone who may reference this post in the future, I went to "Customize" in the top right corner of Adobe, then selected "Create new tool set...", looked under "accessiblity and found the "tag" option. Hit ok, tag is added to the toolbar. Then I highlighted the dataset in the PDF that was relevant to the output format, then clicked "tag", saved as spreadsheet. Sorry I can't provide more details on how tagging works or if there's a more elegant solution available, but I'm sure one's out there.

Can you create new groups within Contacts directly from the iPad, iPhone,or do you have to do it on the computer first?

The easiest way is to get the app called group e mail. There are a couple of others as well. There is a way to do it on your computer, and sync it, but I find that personally frustrating. :). Save yourself the aggrevation, and get the app, that works pretty well.

Hold down on one of your games so that the apps start to shake. Drag and drop the game onto another one. Both will end up in a folder called Games.

HT2513 How can I create a calendar on iCal that shows up separate from my calendar?

I want to create a new iCalendar for a friend. I have done File --> New Calendar and File --> New Calendar Group but a blank calendar does not appear. My calendar remains on the screen. I click on my Home and Work and then my friend's calendar but my calendar, not a new one, remains on the screen. In other words, I want the other calendar to be on my computer but I want to be able to bring it up sparaately from my calendar. How do I get a new calendar to come up?
Also, my friend has a MacBook Pro and I will want to transfer the calendar to her when it is made. How do I do this?

In iCal, you select on the left sidebar which calendars you want to be visible. You create a new calendar the way yoou describe it (File>New Calendar) and then in the left sidebar you make sure that this new calendar is the only one that has the checkbox checked. Then this calendar is the only one visible.
When you want to transfer this calendar to your friend, choose File> export calendar. This will create an .ics file which you can send to your friend by email, dropbox etc. Your frien then just dobbelclick on the .ics file, and the calendar will be saved in iCal.

I'm trying to create a spreadsheet that will keep track of my expenses. In Table 1, I have only the totals for each spending category. All the other tables represent each of the spending categories, which contain all the transaction entries. In Table 1, I created a drop down menu with the following five options:

The numerical entries in Table 1 correspond exactly to the entries of the respective footer rows. At the moment, the sum in each of the footer rows adds up all the transaction entries, but I want to be able to add up only the entries that satisfy the selected drop-down menu option.
So how can I create a conditional formula in each of the footer rows that will allow me to do this?

As per my understanding, excel has to be imported in Xcelsius to draw up the dashboard. Your aggregated data sits in the xlf file. Using an external excel file will not be possible (I guess).
One of the ways to connect to an external excel, is the use XML Maps but then your data has to be in the form of XML which will be pulled into excel first and then needs to be brought in Xcelsius using Data Manager.
You can explore XML Maps in xcelsius in SDN.

How do I create a chart in Keynote that auto-updates from data in Numbers?

Hello all! So, there are lots of answer to this for iWork'09, but I haven't found them for the current version of Work.
What I'd like to do is take data from Numbers and create a chart in Keynote that would then auto-update if I edited the data in Numbers. Put another way, the Keynote chart data would 'live' in Numbers - every time I edit the Numbers data, I'd like those changes to reflect in Keynote. Any thoughts on how to do this outside of always cutting and pasting from Numbers to Keynote?

Wrong tool. Use InDesign. That aside you may be looking for a solution that may not/ can not exist - how would you create a usable duotone of an image, without tweaking its contrast beforehand? It's simply gonna look different with every lighting situation and require manual intervention. and I don't know how "most designers" work, but for the aforementioned reasons I wouldn't work this way. Our clients 'marketing directors would ram me into the ground without even a second thought if they got such untweaked work.

How do I create a reader extended quiz that cannot be saved after submitting form

I'm trying to creat a quiz (using a form) that can be submitted via e-mail from the client. I cannot use "distribute form" as this will be used in a factory environment on a shared computer. How do I make the form so the quiz is not saved with the answers filled in?

With FDF, the person reading the file has to have Acrobat. AA7 sounds write, but at this point most folks have that (except for folks like me who have a different version of Acrobat on each machine with 4 through 9).
With Reader, folks can submit a FDF file by e-mail (not preferred and prone to client setup issues) or a web script. You can also use the FDF Toolkit (Adobe download) to manipulate the submitted FDFs if desired. I do not believe that Reader can import the FDF file, but I do not have Reader installed to check on that (actually I could do it at home with my old desktop that has Reader on it -- but no time soon). As far as filling the form out and submitting it with a FDF file, there should be no problem with Reader. As to how far back in Reader versions this is true may be another question. One of the issues deals with keeping out all of the newer features in your form. You might do that by using the Save as -- Reduce File Size or PDF Optimize to put it in a prior version. Be sure to check your form afterwards to be sure it is still functional.
FDF is the standard data output for AcroForms (Designer creates XML forms). The use of the data submission avoids the need to activate Reader Rights that has EULA limitations on the use.
I will let others address the distribution and submission issues, but I think the answer is yes.
For FDF based forms, the form is developed entirely in Acrobat, not Designer. Many folks automatically head to Designer through the forms menu, but it is not necessary. Designer has some advanced features that are useful for some situations, so you have to look at the tradeoffs if you go there. Most needs can be satisfied by AcroForms (forms directly in Acrobat). I have always felt more control of an AcroForm, but I honestly can not give a good comparison. George Johnson gives a lot of comments on forms and can probably direct you to a good comparison or answer specific questions better than most of us. He gave your first response on this discussion. Hopefully this clarifies things a bit.
