How do I create a sparkle or flare effect?

I have a client that would like a sparkle to come of his teeth sort of like a Mr. Clean ad. Just a brief little sparkle sort of thing with a little twisting action would be perfect. Any suggestions?

Hi -
A quick way to do this in FCP 7 is to select a lens flare from the Generator Button, the button that is on the lower right of the viewer (with the "A" on it).
Choose Render > Lens flare
!http://www.spotsbeforeyoureyes.com/LensFlare.jpg!
This will load a lens flare into the viewer. Edit it to the track above the video you want to place the sparkle on for about the duration you want it to be on. Then Control - Click on that clip in the timeline and from the drop down menu, and select Composite Mode > Add.
Double click on the clip of the lens flare in the timeline and, using the motion tab and controls tabs for the clip that are in the viewer, you can adjust the look of the effect so that it resizes, twirls and fades.
Hope this helps.

  • How do I create this special lens flare effect?

    Hey all!
So I was wondering how to create a lens flare-like effect. I should mention that I already know how to make the circle lens flare effect in after effects but I'm looking for more of a colored "wash" lens flare effect.
The effect is in this video starting at 00:16 seconds, with the lady in the car and the pink/yellow hues bouncing around.
    http://vimeo.com/60631128
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Or at least pointing me towards a tutorial or just the name of the effect so i can find a tut.
    Thanks all!

First created shape layer that is Close to the base color you want for your flair. Second add fast blur or Gaussian blur of a value that is about half the size of your shape layer. Change the blend mode to add, duplicate, increase the blurb about 50%, duplicate repeat until you get what you want. Many times when creating this kind of an artificial lens flare effect I would use many different colors in the same flare. Sometimes I will make the layers 3-D and move them around in 3-D space.
The only other really good option is to buy some stock footage of real lens flares and colorize them using color grading effects.
by the way, one color grading and creating "light" affects you should always work with 32-bit projects.

  • How do I create a magnifying glass zoom effect?

I'm building an image 'showcase of work' website site. Each html page features a selection of thumbnails on one side linked to a main image on the other.  I am trying to find out how to create something like a zoom effect 'magnifying glass' so that the user can hover over the main image to zoom in within a confined circle or square in more detail, which moves with the mouse whilst hovering over the image. I'm sure you all know what I mean!  (just in case, please see attached html file showing the page layout)  (I also don't want to get too techy/over complicate things as I'm learning as I go). I want to be able to use this feature throughout the site, therefore, I guess it's another CSS rule that I need to apply...?
I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction to find some sort of step by step 'how to' do this.  I can't seem to find just what I'm looking for... maybe I'm not calling it by the right terminology!
I'm currently using Design Premium CS4 (predominantly Dreamweaver, Photoshop and a little Flash)
    Cheers....

    Hi
Magiczoom and lightbox are used for showing enlarged versions of images etc. similar to using a separate pop-up window (but without the annoyance of pop-up windows).
Anythingzoomer is a magnifying glass effect and works as such.

  • How can I create a "Max Headroom" stuttering effect?

Can anyone point me in the direction of a filter or steps to create a Max Headroom stuttering effect?
    Does anyone remember Max Headroom?

Many sites ran how-to articles when ol' Max was on the air. The makeup was key to developing the character but editing was was fairly easy; you just need to decide the amount of effort and time you are willing to invest. Strobe effects will posterize the time and framerate but the skipping, replaying, sticking, jumping, and weird flutter cutting of juxtaposed frames takes work. Lots of work. Making it funny or clever is a lot more work.

I am trying to create an orange flash transition effect using Adobe Premiere CS6 with my MAC computer.

    Try this:
Add Cross Dissolve, cut and nest
Add a Fast Blur to the nest and tweak as in first screendump
Superimpose orange Color Matte and tweak as in second screendump
Make (fixed) effects into presets for future use.
    Good luck.

  • How can you create a flying through space effect?

What would be the best way to create an effect, similar to what you see on Star Trek, where there are stars streaking past the camera? Would it work to create a small circle using a vector mask on a solid, make it 3D and put a motion blur on it whizzing it past a camera?
    Thanks.

Without hijacking this thread, I want to create a similar effect of a "fly-by". I'm working on an intro for a show opener, the idea is to have video screens fly-by the camera on the left and right in 3d space. My biggest problem so far is arranging them in the composition, when I track in the camera on the Z-axis the screens behind seem to be overlaped by the front ones and don't get displayed the way I want them to. I know it may sound confusing but I trust you will figure out what I'm trying to do. I want to fly thru' a row of about 32 vidoe screens. A literal example is dollying thru' a long churh aisle or airplane aisle with the chairs on both sides of the aisle whizzing by.
Please help me figure out the best and easiest way to arrange these screens.
    Many thanks!!
    JIM.

  • How do I create this line path/fade effect?

    Hi Guys,
I was just wondering- i saw this clip and am wanting to recreate it in a different colour / slightly different, but really though the styling was great.
I imagine it can't be too hard to accomplish in motion, but was unsure how to go about it.... i've made the swirl shapes in photoshop, but can't figure out the best way to 'reveal' the line (its not a simple line path really as the line changes shape/width/size)
    The video is here: http://www.worshiphousemedia.net/index.cfm?hndl=details&tab=MO&id=6610
    Many many thanks in advance,
    Adam

this tutorial migth get you off in right direction, the drawing line one from same site is also really good.
    http://www.motionsmarts.com/tutorials/skywriting/skywriting2.html
You could also try using masks to reveal different parts of your image over time by keyframing them? the more layers you have your original images on the more versatility you have - speed of revealing can vary as well as amount etc.
    hope that kinda-semi-helps : )

  • How do you create a looped 'conveyor belt' effect with objects on a motion path?

I am trying to efficiently create the following looped
effect: a bunch of shapes constantly following a motion guide (a
closed circle). Basically the object could be a conveyor belt or
    something else.
    http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i302/Cablestein/dfg.jpg
I want to avoid having to do it the old-fashioned way of
multiplate layers and symbols. I do not want to see the triangles
skip or jitter while moving along either.
Is there an obvious way to do this with action script? Some
way to simply start with a single symbol and motion guide, then
    applying some script (copy-paste).

    Thanks.
A circle is easy enough, sure, but I would like to make all
kinds of curves in that circle actually. Everyone knows about
rotating a basic circle. This is beyond that. Imagine all kinds of
turns, waves and spirals in that line.
I have tried Illustrator, and there's potential solutions
there... like the text-on-path tool (why doesn't Flash have that
yet?) which works fantastic. Still a lot of manual work, and will
be a ton of manually copied frames. I wanted something more
    efficient.

  • How do I create a simple flare?

    Hello,
I am a total newbie to AI, so any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
I am trying to create a simple flare that will make my light bulb look like it is glowing really bright.  I have been fooling around with the flare tool, but I can not figure out how to change the colors of the flare, etc.
I want the background of the flare to be transparent so that I can use it on any of my images and the image will show through.  There are 5 different color flares that I need since I have 5 different bulb colors...1 yellow, 1 blue, 1 green, 1 amber, 1 red.  I think that the scale should be about 25% height to 100% width...
Also, I want the same affect for a lighthouse image that I would like to put together...Like the light from the lighhouse is really bright and a focal
    point.
    Any help?
    thx
    Mike

There's a multitude of ways to draw flares. But let's explore the Flare Tool a bit more. After all, it's been sitting there occupying primary tool space in the Toolbox for years; might as well use it in the rare times you have occasion for it. To get a sense of the behavior, try the following exercise.
(The following assumes a CMYK document.):
    Additional tips:
Like so many Illustrator features, tweaking the settings in the Flare Tool's stupid modal dialog is excruciatingly tedious. Before clicking to create the Flare you are going to adjust, go to the View menu and Hide Edges. Turn on the Preview checkbox in the dialog. Now you'll be able to tell what your adjustments are making are doing, without Illustrator's annoying highlighting of every path in a selected Group. (Absolutely hideous interface. I despise this program!)
Once you finallyget a Flare that you find useful, drag it and drop it into the Symbols Palette. Then save the Symbol Library somewhere for safe keeping, naming it UsefulFlares. Next time you work with Flares, load the library, even if you need a different Flare. When you manage to create another Flare you find useful, make it a Symbol, and export the Symbol Library again. (Do the same kind of thing with Brushes.)
Flares stored as Symbols, of course, can also be colorized somewhat by using the Symbol Stainer. That's a quick way to add a little color variance to tiny flares used as stars. But it's rather unpredictable due to the Screen Opacity Mode.
Don't be afraid to use two different Flares together. Store them together in the same Symbol.
The highlights of the screw threads on the bulbs are just an ArtBrush made from an expanded radial black-to-white grad, applied off-center to a circle. The ArtBrush is frequently useful for specular lights on cylindrical surfaces. The Brush's colorization mode is set to Hue Shift. (When expanding the grad, remember: There's no need to go nuts with the number of steps. 10 is usually a gracious plenty.) Each screw thread is just a single curved path with two Strokes: A thick black stroke with rounded end caps and an added stroke for the highlight brush.

  • How to create animated flare effect on photo in Adobe Premiere 11?

    Hello Community Folks,
I'm pretty new to using Adobe Premiere 11, so please bear with me on this question. I'm creating a music video, for fun, using mostly photos for the visuals. I want to apply a lens flare effect on one of the photos in my timeline, and "animate" it so that the flare happens at a certan point in the timeline and then disappears. Can you tell me how to do that. Step by step instruction would be best for me, if you are OK doing that for me. Thanks!

You can Cut your Clip, say twice - where you want the Lens Flare to Appear, and where you want it to disappear - giving you three segments of the Clip. The first would be with no Lens Flare Effect, the second with it, and then the third without it.
One can then Keyframe the Lens Flare, if they need to.
    Good luck,

  • How do I create a named destination in InDesign?

I want to create a hyperlink from an HTML page that will open a PDF file at a specific point. I'm generating the PDF in InDesign CS5. How do I create the named destination (Objective2) so I can do the following?
    http://preparatorychemistry.com/Bishop_Book_atoms_1_test.pdf#nameddest=Objective2

I also had this question and, seeing no response to your post, submitted my own at:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/5856231
However, I was told by Adobe that a solution is not available (below). Have you discovered anything to the contrary? I was not able to get the suggested solution by Jongware to work for me.
Having just completed a phone call with Gaurev Sethi of Adobe escalated technical support in which I shared my screen to explain and demonstrate the desire to link from an external URL to a specific location within a PDF file that has been exported from InDesign, it was determined that the desired functionality is not supported in InDesign and has been identified as a limitation of the software.
In researching alternate documentation software that supports PDF export, I discovered that Madcap Software supports this functionality in its Flare product:
    http://webhelp.madcapsoftware.com/flare9/Default.htm#Nav_Links/Named_Destinations/Creating _Named_Destinations.htm
Note that linking via URL to a bookmarked location within a PDF is not supported:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/tcs/2011/01/tcs-specific/linking-to-a-page-within-a-pdf-and-more.ht ml
More about parameters that can be specified to open PDF files are available here:
    http://www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/devnet/acrobat/pdfs/pdf_open_parameters.pdf
Although the above link is for a previous version of Acrobat, I could find no evidence to the contrary in the current SDK documentation.
