How do I create a submenu to a manual menu?
Hi,
I created a menu with the widget, set to manual. How can I now create the submenu? The pages exist, but nothing is showing up in the widget.

Hello,
When you create a manual widget it do not create menu items on the basis of pages in plan view.
Once you select "manual"in menu type it will give you only 1 menu item.
Once you click on it again then it will give you "+" sign at right left an bottom. you can use bottom one to create submenus and then link it with any page in Plan view.

How do i create a styled spry mysql driven menu using dreamweaver cs4?
I have cs4. I gave up on using MS sql as a datasource. I finally got a php successfull connection in my PHP web page.
I would like a nice video tutorial for creating a dynamic menu.
I guess i can style it by attaching a css file to the page. Are their any already designed css files out there in some online area?
i am not a good designer. so i would like to simply have a collection of menu_style.css files and choose what looks good.
But first i need to build the spry menu from the mysql database.
Any help is apprechiated.
My first choice was to maintain the data in an MS sql server file. If i could directly attach to an ms sql datasource then that would be the best option.
I dont think i want to have to re-generate an XML datasource each time i add or modify the menu. I would like to maintain the MS Sql or mySql file instead.
If i could generate an XML datasource from the MS Sql database then I may even prefere that, but i have spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to do that and not had any success. So i prefere working in MS sql but would settle for mySql if i had to.

How can I create a shortcut to a tools menu option?
I use the clone stamp and the brush tool regularly. Each of these tools provides a Mode: dropdown list to select from in their menu bar.
The drop down options I use most frequently are Lighten and Darken. I would like to create short cuts to Lighten and Darken, such as Ctrl+Shift+L (Lighten) and Ctrl+Shift+D (Darken).
The tools panel menu bar does not appear to have a selection list in the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog box.
How do I create these shortcuts.

JimThey are already there. The same shortcuts that affect layer blend modes when other tools are selected, do exactly the same thing when the Brush; Clone, Healing Brush, Blur, Sharpen and Smudge tools are selected. (I forgot the gradient tool)
So with the Move tool or a Marquee selected
Shift Alt + scrolls down through the selected blend modes
Shift Alt - scrolls up through the selected blend modes
Your can go directly to specific Blend modes with first letters
Shift Alt n = Normal
Shift Alt m = Multiply
Shift Alt s = Screen
Now select the brush, or one of the tools that have blend modes, and the same keys will do the same job for that tool's blend mode. -
How do I create vertical submenu to collapse downward instead of sideways?
Hi. I have created a vertical menu and wanting the sub menus to collapse downwards as it covers text when shows sideways.
I have changed the buttons when hovered it shows the menu appear below the tab but it covers the 2nd tab, how do I adjust this so it doesn't cover the tabs and moves them down with the sub menu?
Hope this makes sense.The out-of-the-box Spry menubar will not do that.

How can I create an application that has no menu bar?
I have an application which has all of its functionailty available on screen as buttons or fields. This works very well at the moment. However when I create and run the application I see a men bar appears nuch the same as when deisgning the application namely, "File, Edit, Operate, Tools,, Browse, Windows, Help". I really don't want them to appear at all as everything is already catered for on screen. I have looked at the menu vi's but it is not clear how I can simply not have a menu bar.
Any suggestions?

How to auto create Report Search functions and Breadcrumb Menu on new pages
Hi
First off I want to say I have just started using Html DB, and think its a great product! I have been using it for a few months now to create an application, and find it flexible, powerful, but still fairly simple to use.
When I create a new Application using "Based on Existing Tables", the pages that get created have some very nice Report Search functions and Breadcrumb Menu features generated automatically.
I want to do the same when I add pages to an existing application. That is, I want new pages to automatically include those Report Search functions and Breadcrumb Menu features.
I have tried various combinations of the existing wizards, but I have not been able to find any that generate all those features automatically. I know I can create pages using the page wizard, and then manually add the Report Search and Breadcrumb Menu. But that is very tedious. Nor can I find a better answer in the forum
Any suggestions or ideas?

How can i create a multilingual website with a menu for each one?
I have all the pages in spanish and the same pages in english ej. Contacto and Contact ...should be sister or child pages? I need two diferent menus (one for spanish pages master, another menu for the english pages master) but the menu feature mixes everything. Is there a solution to this?

It might be easier for you to set up your menus manually, so you can control what is the the Español and English menus, rather than fuss with child and sister pages.
Click and drag out that menu widget that you want to work with > click > click on blue arrow > window opens > under "Menu Type" choose "Manual". Then you can manually enter the titles for and English Language menu. Get that working exactly as you want it to ( colours, roll-over etc ) When you're happy with that one, copy and paste a duplicate of that English menu. You can then go in and change all the English to Spanish. When these are done, then go through both menus and link the buttons to the appropriate language pages.
This way, you don't have to worry about page higharchy, sisters, siblings or anything else. You have better control. It might also prove helpful in the fact that there have been issues in the past with pages navigating once uploaded to the web, who's page names consist of special character language markers like: ñöäãũ
You may want to consider when naming your actual pages that the search engines will be using, ( i.e samplepagespanishpage.com* ) to omit these special characters. Sometimes they cause problems and the site won't work properly. However, if you manually do your menu names, these special characters can be used and it shouldn't cause an issue.
* - If you check into the "Page Properties" under "Metadata" - "Page Name" is where you may want to consider omitting the special characters. "Page Title" I believe you can keep the special characters. This is the information that people would see in Google.

How do I add a submenu without having to add a page?
I have a "Services" page created for our customer. There are currently two sub-pages from the Services page each having their own SubMenu button. On the services page are two types of services that DO NOT need their own pages (which is why they are on the root of Services).
The customer wants submenus for the two services that are on the root of the services page. Currently when you hover your mouse arrow over the "Services" button, the submenues with pages only appear.

In case you are looking for a customized Menu then I would suggest you to use Manual Menu. Using Manual Menu you will be able to create your own Menu and will be able to link each Menu to the desired pages/files/URLs.
The only thiinh that will be a task would be creating the whole Menu again (as it is not created automatically). Please refer to screenshot below on how to create Manual Menu :

How to recovery HD Document submenu
Hey,
I recently had my logic board replaced and since then decided to backup all my info...again. I was in the process of copying my documents to a DVD to burn. However, the way I went about it, did not work.
When I opened the HD icon, and the next window popped up, I try to click and drag the submenu labelled 'documents' to to DVD on the desktop. This did not copy the documents it just made the documents submenu disappear in smoke...literally! So, any ideas as to how to get the documents submenu back on the HD?
P.S. My documents are still on the HD as i opened them via MS WordHi Kassim,
What you did was remove the Documents icon from the Sidebar of a window. The original Documents folder is still in your user folder.
Should you require it back simply navigate to the Documents folder located in Users/yourusername and simply drag it to the sidebar. The original will remain in it's location while an alias is created in the Sidebar.

How do I create the Resume action on a DVD?
Hi Guys
Please help me: I need to know how to make the resume button to continue a last stopped movie.
Let's say I click Play from the main menu and the movie starts and 2 chapters on the time line get played & I am now at the beginning of the 3rd chapter. And then I realise that my audio is 2.0 stereo.
Then I press stop on my remote control and go to the audio setup submenu from the main menu to select Dolby 5.1 surround sound. Let's say I created links (on the audio setup submenu) that say Main Menu and Resume Movie.
How do I get to movie to go back the last chapter played (i.e. chapter 3) and continue from there, after I chose Resume Film with my remote?
I have seen this on commercial DVDs & I was just wondering how they do that!

Thanks for your reply. I'm using Encore cs3. I didn't know that this was as easy as making a Resume button on a menu, and just choosing Resume from the Link drop down list.
