How do I create an out of office reply

I am going on vacation and would like to create an automatic response saying I'll be out of the office.

1) Create a "Out of Office" message and save as a template.
2) Create a message filter. Tools>Message Filter
3) Select New then enter a "Name of Filter.
4) Match all of the following
5) Date - is before - 8-1-2014
6) Reply with Template - " Name of Filter"
7) Leave Thunderbird open and running.
8) Out of Office message that was saved as a template will be used to reply to all mail received till 8-1-2014

  • Mac Mail: How to prevent out-of-office reply infinite loop

I'm in the habit of sending myself e-minders to my own email. I'm leaving town and enabled my out-of-office reply and later sent myself a message and it created a continuous loop of replies that would have overwhelmed my inbox had I not caught it. Is there a way to avoid this? I set up rules saying only to reply if "From" did not include my email address but the loop still happened.
    Thanks for your input!

Get yourself another email address, like Gmail and forward to it instead of using the vacation message feature.

  • How do I set an out of office response?

I'm going out of town and need to set an out of office reply to incoming emails. How do I do this?

This feature depends on your e-mail provider, but with Apple's iCloud you can do this by logging into icloud.com, clicking the "Mail" application, and then clicking the gear menu at the top-right to get to the preferences. Then go to the Vacation settings and enter a message as an automatic reply to send. Checking the box to automatically reply will enable this feature.
Alternatively you can set up a rule in Mail on your Mac to act on any received message and send a reply.

  • Out of office reply

    hi, cyberfaithful:
I made a rule to reply to message automatically when I'm out of office in Mail.
It works fine. But if I send an attachment to any receipients. their out of office reply send the reply and the attachments (plus my original email) all back to me.
ny way not to send back the "attachment" if there is one?

    Hello,
If I am understanding you correctly, you are talking about keeping your auto-responders from going in circles. You send to them, them to you, and yours back to them.
If that is what you are talking about, then that should be pretty simple.
Any reply to your out-of-office message should contain the subject and / or body of your out of office message. Even if it is returned.
So, here's what I would do.
Insert some garbage code like: KXTGSW
either in the subject or body of the message that your auto-responder sends.
Then, configure your auto-responder rule to ignore (or not respond) to incoming messages that contain that text anywhere in their message body or subject.
Alternatively, you could also configure that rule to send out a different message (with or without your attachment) if it detects that your message came back.
    That should do it.
If I have misunderstood your question, then let me know where I got it wrong, and I'll try to help.
    I hope this helps.

  • How do I put an 'Out of Office' automatic response to incoming mail please?

I cann't see how to put the 'out of office' message on when on vacation. Please help?!

Using the "rules" method requires that Mail stay running while you are gone and is prone to problems. The biggest problem arrises when you start an "out of office war" with another contact who has done the same thing. Both of your email clients will continually bombard each other with replies.
The best way to set that up is on your email provider's server. You can do this with an Exchange account (in the Account Info settings from within Mail, I think). For an iCloud account, you can set it on the www.icloud.com website under Mail settings.
For other accounts, you will have to ask your email provider.

An example is this video at 0:28 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7goDFFN-6J8&feature=player_embedded#at=28

Duplicate the layer. Scale up the underlying layer and apply a blur effect to it.

How do I stop Mac Mail from sending an unauthorized "Out off Office" reply to several, not all, of my associates emails?  Only happens with me.com mailbox, not Earthlink.  Am not getting some important e-mail from brokerage and business associates.

If Earthlink is unaffected it is probably a settimg in me.com.  Log into me.com account in a browser such as Safari (will get icloud.com) and select the settings (gear) icon bottom left, and then click on the airplane icon. Make sure vacation setting is unchecked.

  • Out of Office *sigh*

Ok, so I will start this out by saying I apologize for creating another Out of Office thread, but nonetheless I can't figure this out.  Our OOF is not working internally on our exchange server 2010.  However, it will work through OWA.  I have
tried setting SCP's, updated internal and external URL's, created certificates, and created DNS records. I can't seem to figure out what combination of things need to be setup to work for our configuration.  First things first, I did not configure this
mail server.  It was in place when I arrived so I have no idea how the setup went.  Second, we still have the old exchange server 2003 on the network.  Last, please help.  I have exhausted all my resources trying to figure this out.  I
have tried to set everything back to the way I found it to begin the troubleshooting process.  We have not purchased any certificates due to cost, and I do not see our client purchasing certs. See below for a few logs to get things started.  Thank
you for the help in advance.

Sounds like things are a mess.
Personally I would be looking to clean up the mess.
The first thing to do is sort out the SSL certificates. If you are going to use anything external (OWA, Outlook Anywhere, ActiveSync) then you need to use a commercial SSL certificate, so that you don't generate prompts.
    Sit down and work out
    a. What URLs the users are currently using to access various services. Autodiscover.example.com etc are only used outside the network or by clients that are not members of the domain.
    b. What host name you want to be the primary host name.
    c. The real name of the server, both its FQDN and NETBIOS name.
Then use the SSL certificate wizard in Exchange 2010 to generate a new certificate request.
Set the common name from the default of example.com to your preferred primary host name.
Add in the autodiscover entries for each domain that you are supporting for email where users have that domain in their PRIMARY email address.
Then add in the server's NETBIOS and FQDN.
Get the certificate issued and installed. Ideally using a commercial provider - one of cheapest source of the Unified Communications type that you need is
https://certificatesforexchange.com/ but if you insist on using your internal CA, then do that - IF the internal CA is configured correctly and is publishing the root certificate to the clients. (Although you
will get certificate prompts in the external clients that are not members of the domain).
With the certificate installed, you can sort out the URL and DNS mess.
Point all internal IP addresses for the host names to the Exchange server. Lose that IIS machine as it is just complicating matters.
Go through the OWA, ActiveSync, EWS configuration and ensure the correct URLs are set, both internally and externally.
On set-clientaccessserver, ensure that the value for AutodiscoverServiceInternalURI is set to the server's real FQDN - so
    https://host.example.local/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml
Include the HTTPS in all URLs.
After changing things, run IISRESET to get the changes to write to the IIS metabase and/or Exchange.
    Test again.
    Simon.

  • Out of office Relpy for apple Mail on Mountain Lion Server

We just recently switched our server from Lion to Mountain Lion and now we can not figure out how to create and launch an Out of Office Reply for Apple Mail on the new Mountain Lion Server.  I have searched the internet for an aswer and/or instructions on how to do this and haven't found any.

  • Out of Office Messages are Not Sent Out

    Hi there,
I have an issue with Outlook's Out of Office feature. The Out of Office messages are not sent out (to both internal and external contacts) although it has been already turned on. Only one user is having this particular issue.
I've attempted these steps but the issue still persists.
    a) Turning on OOO via OWA
    b) Deleting the current profile and creating a new profile
Could anybody help me in this?
    Regards,
    Vinod

    Hi Vinod,
You issue might be related to this:
"By default, the out-of-office reply to Internet recipients (external senders) is turned off. Many administrators do not allow out-of-office replies to be sent outside the Exchange Server organization, so that unauthorized people do not
know when users are out of the office. "
You might want to follow the steps in below KB article to turn on out-of-office replies to the Internet or contact your administrator to check so:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/323665/en-us
Hope it helps and feel free to post back.

  • Project Server 2013 - Out of Office Sync - Only two months in future?!?

    Hello there guys,
after Long Long search for the problem, I've found out that our Project Server 2013 only syncs the out of Office time from our Exchange Calendar for the next two months.
But for our Project planning we Need of course a more longtime synchronization, at least 6 or better 12 months.
I didnt find any Option where I could set it to sync more then 2 months of the out of Office times in the calendars.
I've spent already so much time on this Problem... When I set the Project Server time 2 weeks(!) in the future, then the sync will also sync two more weeks in the future, but not more.
The timesheet periods are also set for the next 12 month.
Does anybody have an Information/help regarding this Problem for me?
How can I set the Out of Office sync to synchronize more then just 2 months?
    THANK YOU VERY MUCh!!
    Regards
    Lukas Meyer
PS: Using the current October 2013 CU.

I've searched the Verbose Log and found the following:
    12/17/2013 14:38:16.32 Microsoft.Office.Project.Server (0x0928) 0x1A6C Project Server Exchange Sync aaubf Verbose PWA:https://servername/PWA, ServiceApp:Project Server-Dienstanwendung, User:PROJECTSERVER\system,
    PSI: Calling service.GetUserAvailability() for user:2c3909bc-d6fb-e211-b239-000c296be823 for period:12/17/2013 00:00:00-02/17/2014 00:00:00, LogLevelManager Warning-ulsID:0x00014045 has no entities explicitly specified. 3a2f619c-f4a0-f018-b62b-b2d1299a489f
So the Project Server is only asking for two months of User Availability on the Exchange. Where can I Change this Setting so that the Project Server syncs more then 2 months?
Otherwise this functionality is quite useless in my view as we are planning our Projects longer then only 2 months...
    Thank you!
