How do i create stacks?

i want to make a stack contains ilife, one that contains my favorite application, or game stack, etc. how do i do this?

Take a look at this link on how to create stacks for applications:
http://webbake.com/tutorials/osx-leopard-10.5-creating-stacks-for-applications
Apple must have pulled this feature at the last minute, and just allow you to create stacks from folders. The procedure was as simple as command-clicking all the apps you wanted and dragging them to the dock. It is a shame that one now has to create aliases of the apps and put them in a folder to create a stack of your most used apps that wouldn't fit in your dock otherwise.

  • How do you create stacked plots?

    Okay, I have tried for quite some time today to create a stacked plot, but without any success.  I want to be able to put in a max and min range for the x-axis on the front panel.  This x-axis will be used for three different y-axis.  Each y-axis will have a different scale than the other ones.  Also, each y-axis will have up to 6 different plots.  I have attached an example of what I hope the final chart/graph/plot will look like.  I have tried combining the x-axis values with the different y-axis values in an array (2D) and then plotting them but nothing seems to work right.

    Never had much success getting what I consider "publication quality" graphs out of LV, but that is not what it was built for.  It has a great looking GUI and the flexibility to get your data into a program to suit your needs.  Doesn't mean that there aren't some features we'd like to see added, especially when it comes to axes and labelling.  My advice to you is the following:
    1. take a deep breath and decide if this is something you really want to do.
    2.  perhaps try an in-between solution like stripping down the plots and stacking three XY graphs on top of each other.  You can programatically control the scales.  You won't have overlap of the plots like you show, and all of the labels will be on the left.
    3.  Try a standard XY graph and fudge the labels using Ben's very elegant trick. Ben is the go-to-guy (IMO) for picture control questions
    4.  Explore the Picture VIs to generate plots piece-by-piece.  You are in for a lot of work, but it is the only LV-only solution I know to get the results you are looking for.  (Perhaps there are new and exciting features in LV2009 that someone will enlighten us with).
    5.  Do what I do.  I use a MathLink connection to Mathematica when I need plots that I can't get easily in LV.  You can retrieve the graphics object and display it in a container or a picture control.  I use a picture control because the container seems to unload the image when I stop the VI.  If you don't have Mathematica, or similar program, sorry.

  • How to create stack bar chart on answers that shows % and counts?

    Hello guys
    I currently have a table that have several columns, each column represent one product name, and one column name "units" indicating how each product is sold...
    The requirement is to create a chart view with stack bar that shows the percentage of each product''s unit sales.
    Now we are discussing whether we should customize the table to consolidate all these product columns into one "product desc" column with all the product names as row in order to fulfill this requirement..
    PLease let me know whether this is needed or not... ALso, how would I be able to create stack bar charts that shows the total sales against each product sales in percentage and counts?
    Please let me know, I really appreciate it

    I tried to do this and was a bit successful. I used the paint catalog. Created a a request with 6 columns assuming units and dollars be stacked and Year ago units to be a line:
    Brand Units Dollars 0 Year_Ago_units 1
    Added a new request (Combined with similar request and selected paint subject area): Now in this request my columns are:
    Brand 0 0 Year_Ago_Dollars Year_Ago_units 2
    Assuming Year_Ago_Dollars be standard in your case.
    Created a chart view with brand and 1 on x axis and Units, Dollars, Year_Ago_Dollars on y axis and line as Year_Ago_units.
    Now able to see what I am expecting. May be you need to tweak a bit more according to your requirement.
    Let me know if this is of any help!
    Thanks.

    How to create stacked canvas on a content canvas in forms builder.
    Please let me know if anybody has some steps or screenshots.

    once you build a content canvass your next step is to create another canvass with a property canvas type of stacked. those two canvas the content and stacked should have the same property of raise on entry yes and should be on the sane window.
    to force to display the stacked canvass at runtime on your Form level trigger WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE add this code
          show_view('stacked_canvass');where the stacked_canvass is the name your stacked canvass. hope this helps.

    How do I create a stacked bar chart using Crystal Excelsius 4.5?  I do not see the stacked bar chart in my components window.  - Erik

    I just opened an old file that I created with Crystal Excelsius and I see the stacked bar chart visible in the components window of my old files.
    Why has stacked bar chart disappeared from the components window in my new files?  It seems many of the components have "disappeared" including stacked bar, candlestick charts, area charts and most of the background components.

    How can I create a slideshow that depicts only a version of a photo rather than the original?   Since the original and new versions are saved together, the aperture slideshow often choices the original rather than the desired version to display.

    There are two things we use the name "Slideshow" for in Aperture:  a Slideshow Album, used for making Slideshows, and the Slideshow that is made.  (Imho, it is a design mistake to not call the containers used to create Slideshows, Books, etc., "Albums".)
    The Slideshow will use the Album Pick from any Stack.  A good way to use Aperture is to promote the Image you want to regularly use (such as, for example, a Version with adjustments) to the top of the Stack.  This makes it the Stack Pick, and will be the default Album Pick.  If you haven't done that, you can still change the Album Pick for any Stack in a Slideshow Album.  Expand your Stack(s), select the Image in each Stack that you want to be the Album Pick (and thus shown in the Slideshow), and "Stacks➞Set Album Pick".  (Note the keyboard shortcut; there is also a Toolbar icon for this.)  The change is immediate.  The Slideshow will always show the Album Pick (or, if there is not one, the Stack Pick) for every Stack in your Slideshow Album.

  • How ABAP and JAVA stacks are connecting

    Hi Experts,
    I have a doubt in pi. We are developing Message Mapping in IR, it means it is running on JAVA STACK. But we are checking any mapping error in SXMB_MONI which will run on ABAP STACK.
    Now My doubt is " How JAVA and ABAP stacks are connecting to each other and How we are able to see Mapping error in Integration Engine which resides on ABAP stack even though we create Mapping in IR which runs on Java".
    Thanks&Regards ,
    Gajapathi.

    Hi Gajapathi,
    How JAVA and ABAP stacks are connecting to each other
    PI manages using single database for both JAVA and ABAP servers. But both access them using different schema. They connect using RFC protocol via SAP Java Connector (JCo Connector).
    How we are able to see Mapping error in Integration Engine
    which resides on ABAP stack even though we create Mapping in IR which runs on Java".
    So when you create a object be it mapping or interface or any XI objects, it is stored in Single Database. When you use ABAP sxmb_moni for monitoring the message, it uses ABAP related schema to access the message.
    I hope it answers you query.
    Regards
    Ramesh

  • Creating Stack Of String & Array???

    How can I create a stack of strings and use arrays as internal storage mechanism??n Is it possible to make a stack that can take in a text file?? thanks in advance.:):)

    Of course, if you want a Stack that's better than java.util.Stack, all you have to do is
    public interface Stack {
       public abstract boolean isEmpty();
       public abstract void push(Object newItem);
       public abstract Object pop();
    import java.util.*;
    public final class LinkedStack implements Stack {
       private LinkedList data = new LinkedList();
       public boolean isEmpty() {
          return data.size() == 0;
       public void push(Object newItem) {
          data.addLast(newItem);
       public Object pop() {
          if (isEmpty()) return null;
          return data.removeLast();
    }Implementation of ArrayStack is left as an exercise for the reader.

  • How to properly create complex OCI objects (for Annotation Text)

    I am upgrading a tool that will upload text objects to a table with a ST_ANNOTATION_TEXT field. The app is a C++ app and I need to instantiate a ST_ANNOTATION_TEXT (using OCIObjectNew??). I actually have 2 questions. First, does anyone have an example of how to accomplish this? I seem to be unable to correctly create the annotation text type in C++ to be able to append to (calling OCICollAppend). Second, since ST_ANNOTATION_TEXT is a complex type (contains an array of annotation text elements), do I need to call OCIObjectNew on not only the main ST_ANNOTATION_TEXT type but also for the ST_ANNOTATIONTEXTELEMENT_ARRAY, ST_ANNOT_TEXTELEMENT_ARRAY, and the ST_ANNOTATIONTEXTELEMENT?
    I can't seem to find in info on this so hopefully someone else has been through this.

    user3068343 wrote:
    I am still having an issue where the sub objects are still NULL.Actually I was mistaken. I must have confused getting an Object from OCIObjectNew with using one of its constructor method in a statement.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/appdev.111/b28395/oci18nav004.htm#sthref3438 clearly state the object will have NULL attributes, unless the OCI_ATTR_OBJECT_NEWNOTNULL flag is set on the environment handle.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/appdev.111/b28395/oci11obj.htm#i446308 further tells you what the default value for the object members will be.
    An older 9i doc http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/appdev.920/a96594/adobjadv.htm#1008774 also warns about resetting the indicator struct member when you update a member of the object.
    user3068343 wrote:
    ++a) you allocate the object's top-level struct yourself (SDO_GEOMETRY in my case) in C+++
    Above you suggest creating the objects top-level struct myself. How do you create that top level object? I have been using OCIObjectNew on that object as well as its sub objects? Is that how you are creating the top-level object?This technique works only on binds, as objects you get back from defines are always allocated from the object cache. I create the top-level object directly on the stack... This is something I discovered worked, but is not documented, so you're probably on safer ground using OCIObjectNew instead.
    BTW, the reason I can't easily post OCI example code is that my code uses wrappers around the objects that hides most of the OCI:
    Geometry Geometry::make_point(OCIEnv* envhp, OCIError* errhp, float x, float y) {
        Geometry point_geom(envhp, errhp);
        point_geom.set_null(false);
        point_geom.gtype() = 2001;
        PointRef point = point_geom.point();
        point.set_null(false);
        point.x() = x;
        point.y() = y;
        return point_geom;
    }The above creates an 2D point-type SDO_GEOMETRY hidden inside the Geometry class, itself deriving from a GeometryRef class. The latter wraps a C++ API on top of the struct pointers for a SDO_GEOMETRY/SDO_GEOMETRY_ind, while Geometry actually composes the OTT generated value/indicator structs by value, and passes addresses to its nested structs to GeometryRef (its parent class). So GeometryRef can manipulate an object irrelevant of where it was allocated, the stack or the object cache. The Geometry class is a value class, but it's useful for binds only, and like I said uses a behavior which appears to work but is not explicitly documented.
    Unless you have nested objects by reference, nested objects are composed by value in the OTT-generated structs, so the space for all nested objects is already allocated after the first OCIObjectNew. But the members themselves are not initialized, and thus marked as null in the indicator struct.
    In the code above, my Geometry instance is fully allocated (on the stack), but fully uninitialized (the indicator is by default set to all nulls). I first set the atomic flag to non-null, then get the Ref wrapper around its nested SDOPOINT_TYPE to also set it to non-null, and fill in the x/y member (via another NumberRef wrapper, which knows about the member and the indicator for that member, and sets it as non-null when assigned to). Notice how how I return the instance by copy: My point geometry instance doesn't have a pointer-aliasing issue here, only because its two OCIColl* are null. In the general case, you can't copy my value wrappers without making a true deep copy... But I'm getting into the weeds here.
    The important point is that OCIObjectNew doesn't init the nested objects unlike what I stated earlier. Sorry for misleading you on that. • Create Stack of Apps?

    I would love to have a stack with just my pro applications, inlcuding FCP, SP2, Aperture, DVDSP 4, Compressor and everything else that falls under the Pro category.
    I try to select each application using the Command key and dragging them to the right section of the dock, and nothing happens. I can open my hard drive up, and just drag my Applications folder to my dock to create a stack of all of my applications.
    How do I create a stack just from those applications?
    Thanks,
    -benny

    Try this, create a new folder called apps, then add an alias for each of your pro apps, (apple+alt I think or just hit apple L) and add them to that folder. Drag the folder into your dock and walla you have your pro apps stacked.
