How do I create stationary in mail

I have been trying to get stationaries to work in 10.7 Mail.  Here is what I have so far...
1) I created a draft message with the desired format for my stationary.
2) I used the File menu's "Save as Stationary" item.
The new stationary is present when I display them in the toolbar of a message but if I double click it the message does not change to that format.  The message will change to any of the preset stationary but not the one I created.  This becomes especially frustrating since I cannot figure out a way to modify an existing custom stationary.  It appears that I have to delete the one I have to save a new one with the same name.
I searched on the web and this forum for a tutorial on the new stationary feature but only found out how to do this for Windows 7.
MM

I think I have sorted it
I found a load of very complex HTML editing tips on the forums but in fact it is really simple.
You build your 'template' as a WEB PAGE.... I am not going to tell you how to do that, but I used DW and you could use anything else to make it easier IWEB?
View or preview the webpage / template in SAFARI ... then "send it as mail".
This will call up your apple MAIL and from there you can save it as a template into a CUSTOM template folder which is at the bottom of the template list.
Once there.. you can you remove it by clicking the little cross on the top left.

In the native mail app, ther really isn't a way to do this. Groups in the Contacts app are only for organizing. You might check the app store for alternate mail app for doing this.

This is very disappointing, and i find it hard to believe that Apple would do this intentionally. It worked on previous versions of email application. Apple please don't dishonor the image of Steve Jobs this way. Fix this right away. I can't think of anything more basic than being able to organize the email that you download into folders. This absolutely ***** ... What a stinker.....
I can't think of anything more idiotic than invoking the memory of Jobs here. Are you truly unaware that the iPad and iOS is pretty much exactly the way he wanted it to be, just like about everything else Apple?
As to your claim of "previous email applications", certainly none in iOS ever did that, and the only folders you can create and manipulate in POP accounts are those local to only that single machine or platform, not particularly helpful or desirable in today's environments.

  • HT5312 how can i create a rescue mail

how can i create a rescue mail in order to use it to bypass the secuirity questions

You won't be able to add a rescue email address to your account until you can answer your questions, if you can't remember their answers then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country to get the questions reset.
Contacting Apple about account security : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
When they've been reset follow the instructions on the HT5312 page that you posted from :
Navigate to appleid.apple.com using your web browser.
    Click "Manage your account"
When prompted, sign in using your Apple ID and password.
    Click Password & Security
You'll be asked to answer 2 of your 3 security questions before you can make any modifications. If you are unable to remember your answers, you can choose to send an email to your rescue email to reset your security questions.
After you've validated your identity by correctly answering your security questions, click Edit to the right of your rescue email address.
Once you've finished editing your rescue email address, click the Save button directly below the email field.

How do I create groups in Mail and then add contacts to that group?

Look in Mail > Preferences > Composing tab > If you want all the email addresses to show, check "When sending to a group, show all member addresses".   If unchecked, just the groupname should appear.
If it still doesn't work then review the email addresses for each of the group members looking for errors in format.
Also, clean up the list in previous recipients in Mail > Window > Previous Recipients.

application support>apple>mail>stationary>Apple>Contents>Resources>then all the preloaded folders show up.

  • How do I create Folders in Mail?

I recently migrated from Eudora to Mail. In the process I brought some Folders in which I filed mailboxes, in some cases there were folders in folders. All are there well and clear.
How do I create a Folder into whch I can put more sub folders or mailboxes? I cannot find anything other than a Smart Mailbox Folder menu item and there is nothing in the Mail help Viewer
    Tks

At the Mail.app menu bar, go to Mailbox and select New Mailbox.
The following was copied from Mail Help under Creating Mailboxes.
You can create as many mailboxes as you like to file or organize messages you want to keep.
You can create a mailbox that's stored on your computer, one that's stored within a specific account, or a mailbox in an existing mailbox. A mailbox inside another mailbox is called a "subfolder."
If you have an IMAP account, you can store received mail on your computer or on your mail server.
    Choose Mailbox > New Mailbox.
To create a mailbox within an existing mailbox, select the existing mailbox before you choose Mailbox > New Mailbox.
Use the Location pop-up menu to choose the location for the mailbox on your computer or an IMAP account (to store the mailbox on an IMAP server).
Type a name for the mailbox.
    Click OK.
To create a mailbox that contains another mailbox (or subfolder), type the name for the mailbox and the subfolder separated by a forward slash ("/"). For example, if you type "Apple Mail/Apple Newsletters," a mailbox named Apple Mail will be created, with a mailbox named Apple Newsletters inside it. (Note that if you create a mailbox this way, the enclosing mailbox can only contain other mailboxes, not messages. Such mailboxes appear white in the mailboxes list, instead of blue.)

  • How do I create an e-mail graphic poster that can be sent out?

I need to create an e-mail poster advertisement for a
    recreation area that
will be sent out to shareholders. I need to do this for work.
    Does anyone
have any suggestions on how I would do this? Would I create
    the web page and
then send the web page in an e-mail. I need it to show up
    directly, not
through an attachment. Also, once created, this will be sent
    out to
shareholders. How do I save this file to disk in what format
    so that it can
be sent out by my boss. I am doing this as an

    Thanks

You can open the web page in a browser, select all, copy and
paste into Outlook. That works. i don't know about other email

  • How can I create additional "Sent Mail" folders so that I can organize my sent mail along the same lines as the inbox? I use Mail v 4.5

How can I create additional or sub "Sent Mail" folders so that I can organize my sent mail along the same lines as the inbox? I use Mail v 4.5.

Thank you for your reply Don, but I had already gone through that procedure and it will only create new mailboxes for received mail. I want to create new mailboxes for sent mail, i.e. the first column being "to" not "from". Under the Mailbox menus there is an option "Use This Mailbox For" but all the options under that (including Sent) are greyed out. Unfortunately the View/Columns option to change from "From" to "To" changes all mailboxes not just the active one.

Next click All Contacts on the left, and drag and drop the names you want in the new group.

  • HT5622 How do I create another e-mail address for work purposes?

I can't figure out how where to create an additional e-mail account for my work-related activities.  Do I do it via icloud account or within systems preferences?

You can add up to three 'email aliases' - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. (In fact it's a good idea to give out alias addresses, rather than the main address, because if they attract spam you can easily change them.) (New aliases can only be @icloud.com ones; @me.com addresses cannot now be created.)
You should be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account or move it to another account.
You do this on the iCloud website - details here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mm6b1a490a

  • How do I create a POP mail account on ios 5

When I try to create a new mail account it always turns out to be an IMAP email account which I don't have access to such an account. My account is POP3 and I don't seem to be able to ever specify that on my iPhone 4 using ios 5. Help?
    Carl

You should not need to enter anything. the iCloud service is one of the  preconfigured options.
Just choose the iCloud type from the Add new Mail screen, and enter your details in the next screen.
If you don't have the iCloud option, but instead have the mobileMe option then you will need to update your iOS.

  • How can I create an HTML Mail signature?

I've spent the evening searching for a way to create an HTML Mail signature with no luck.  My problem is that when I create a new signature in Mail and close mail I try the following:
    1.  Create an HTML signature in Dreamweaver CS6
    2.  Open it in Safari & save it as a .webarchive to the desktop & close Safari & Dreamweaver
    3.  Open the signature folder (through Finder) and copy the Mail generated name (.mailsignature or it could be .signaturemail - can't remember) & delete the file
    4.  Click on the .webarchive and replace the name with the .mailsignature
    5.  Copy the new .mailsignature file & paste it to the signature file
    6.  Open mail and try to use the signature
    7.  NOT WORKING
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR ANY SUGGESTIONS!
PS  I use iCloud if that makes any difference.

  • How to create stationary in Mail

I would like to create a stationary template in Mail. Any easy ways to do this?
    Thanks
    DC

I have the same question and issue. How do you save the pictures after you place them in the "place older"?
I compose the email text, click the stationary icon and select the stationary I want, the text shows up correctly, then I drag pictures to the stationary. I try and save as stationary the "save stationary" is not highlighted. I have tried several ways with no luck. I want to save the stationary just how I like it, without having to recreate it every time.
Suggestions as to where I'm going wrong?
