How do I create this text effect in motion?

Hi,
I am a bit of a motion newbie - and am stuck as to how to replicate this sratchy/jumpy/glow text effect found in the video preview here . . . .
http://www.worshiphousemedia.com/index.cfm?hndl=details&tab=MM&id=4609
(click the video in top left)
If anyone can offer some help it would be greatly appreciated.
Warmest Regards,
Adam

mark, patrick, pierre and Longstrider - thankyou - sucess!
Longstrider- special thanks for your fab run through I knew it couldn't be too tricky... hehe - it really isnt!
I have got it shaking and mimicked exactly as in the sample vid clip - now i just have to add the randomisation on opacity, and perhaps some graininess to the text (text edging&fill is a bit sharp and clean).
Once again - thankyou so much!
Warmest Regards,
Adam

  • How do I create this particle effect?

    I am pretty new to After Effects and I'm getting to grips with all the particle effects and have managed to create some cool looking animations, but I'm trying to create the particle effect as seen in the image link below. Can anyone tell me how this is done, and what plug-in (if any) would be used to create something like this? I can't get anything I do to look like this. Thanks...
    http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/5001/particleskf1.jpg

    Create the custom particle in Photoshop or a separate comp. Drag the custom particle into your main comp, turn its visibility off, set Particular's particle setting to "Custom Particle", and choose the new layer as the source.
    Create a camera for the comp and turn on "Depth of field". Experiment with the settings until you get the desired effect.
    Personally, I'd use two Particular layers for that look, one for the larger particles and another for the smaller ones.

  • How do I create this gloss effect?

    Hi there,
    Currently I'm building a master based on someone else's work.
    I'm trying to remake a gloss effect, but I can't figure out how she did it.
    In one of the files, I found out how it works.
    The gloss effect is a pentagon placed over an image, like in the picture I included.
    Can anyone help me on how to recreate a pentagon like this?
    Thanks a lot in advance!

    Check the color of the overlaid polygon, and it's blend mode and transparency in the Effects panel.

  • How do I create this window effect?

    I was looking at this photo
    http://image.shutterstock.com/display_pic_with_logo/442024/442024,1297015560,3/stock-vecto r-download-button-set-vector-set-for-web-70603081.jpg
    trying to figure out how they get the little window to appear like that.
    I can create the window panes by creating rectangles, but curing it around like that, i am not sure of.
    I tried "shear" bu it chops off some of the window instead of just curving it around.
    Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hello, select Edit>Transform>warp. OR get the free transform tool, and click the warp button on the option bar.

  • How can i create this videos effect ?

    Hello, i am new here, and i have a project in my hand. I have to create a slideshow presentation on certain subject.   I have completed the slideshow using a tool called,PhotoStage Slideshow Producer, with a bunch of 60 images. Now i want to add a small video effect in the beginning of the slideshow to make it look more professional. Here is the download link for the video. http://www.mediafire.com/download/i5az6a7rjp3lbkn/Video.rar This video is farely advanced for my liking, but you got the general message. I want something really simple and i want to add it in between different images for some effect. I may be asking in the wrong forum, again. Can Adobe’s Premiere Pro do it , or is there some other simple program that can make these kind of effect. Thank you.

    Might be able to create it with Filter > Render > Clouds with your foreground and background colors set to the lighter and darker versions of your selected color. Then you might need to use Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur to smooth things out

  • How can I create this rollover effect in Flash CS5?

    I'm pretty new to Flash, and I want to create a button like these.
    I understand how to make a basic rollover button, but I haven't got a clue how to do animation like that.
    http://www.werkstette.dk

    the easiest way would be to create one movieclip that has
    1.  a rectangular mask (to mask everything),
    2.  a dynamic textfield  with whatever colored and embedded font.
    3.  whatever colored background
    4.  another textfield that has a y property greater than the mask so it's not visible until the mask is rolled over.  embed the font
    5.  another background for the rolled over movieclip
    everything will need instance names so you can control with actionscript.  you can then assign rollover and rollout code to your movieclip mask.
    on rollover, you'll tween the first textfield (and possibly background) to a y less than your mask.  tween the textfield with easing.  and you'll tween the 2nd textfield and 2nd background to about the same y as your mask.  again, tween the textfield with easing but not the background.

    http://www.gunnar.ca/layout.htm
    I am attempting to design a site. I have the idea for the
    layout and have created it using tables at the address above. I
    realize I should be using css to create the layout instead of
    tables. First of all - is this layout difficult to create using css
    - and where would I start with that? I ordered an HTML/CSS book and
    will dig in when it arrives.
    Secondly - I want an image to appear in the empty space
    (where there is an empty table right now) when I mouse over a menu
    item - ie when I mouse over "wood veneer" I want a graphic to
    appear in the empty space - that would be java script, no?
    So I would layout the page using html and css, then add some
    java script in to make the roll over thing happen?

  • How do I recreate this text effect in FCPX?

    Can you embed video in these forums would be my second question!! ?
    https://vimeo.com/91324346

    3rd party plugins, like from Boris FX, do this. They usually call it Light Rays. There are others.

  • How can I get this text effect

    I'm not sure if it's a bevel and emboss effect or what. Thanks in advance.

    Thanks. For some reason it won't let me add a gradient. It can be another other color though.

  • How can I create this style? Rave Motion graphics etc. See link

    I'm fairly new to AE but here is the sort of thing I'm wanting to make Bobmo - "When I Look" ft. Shaun J. Wright - YouTube. Particularly the face at 0:28 and the background at 2:53. If anyone could point me in the direction of where I can learn this sort of thing I would be very grateful!
    Thanks!

    Ohhhh, another new user who wants to jump into the deep end of the pool RIGHT NOW.  You're asking technique questions that go way beyond a simple post in a forum.
    You aren't going to do yourself or any of us any favors if you do that.  You will hurt yourself especially.  So slow down, take a deep breath, recognize that AE is is complex application that requires a good knowledge of the basics and go here:
    Getting started with After Effects (CS4, CS5, CS5.5,  CS6, & CC)
    Seriously.  In the long run, you'll be better off.

  • Need Help Making This Text Effect

    Can someone please assist on how I can create this text effect with the thick line surrounding the text phrase at this link?
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/lalogotheque/2801883641/in/set-72157608260902848/
    I have the font already and I'm using Illustrator CS 1.0 for Mac OS X.
    Thanks in advance for the help!

    Yes I guess that is the way it is done:
    <br />
    <br />
    <a href="http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=18MgENxFZNBGeizw4wAaWr5Jo6B5vS0" /></a>
    <img alt="Picture hosted by Pixentral" src="http://www.pixentral.com/hosted/18MgENxFZNBGeizw4wAaWr5Jo6B5vS0_thumb.png" border="0" />
    <br />
    <br />
    <a href="http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=1Np8mdgE1ZazEbQZjQnP6huKdaL7EJ" /></a>
    <img alt="Picture hosted by Pixentral" src="http://www.pixentral.com/hosted/1Np8mdgE1ZazEbQZjQnP6huKdaL7EJ_thumb.png" border="0" />
    <br />
    <br />That is you make three copies of the text but this time I composed the text as one unit using baseline shift and different type sizes and spacing.
    <br />
    <br />Once I had text they way I wanted it and the three copies I kept one as is, in this case the black version.
    <br />
    <br />I then gave a color to the bottom most and gave it a sufficient Offset path setting to look solid.
    <br />
    <br />So there is now black text and a solid colored background in and expanded shape of the text.
    <br />
    <br />I then outlined the text for the text that had been offset and then used the pathfinder to merge the different paths within that art. That would be the first icon on the top left of the pathfinder panel.
    <br />
    <br />I then gave the text in between and outline twice the weight I wanted the gap to be and no fill and flattened the transparency choosing to outline the strokes.
    <br />
    <br />Then I selected the outlined I just created and the background I created before leaving the
    <br />the outline on top of the background and went back to the pathfinder and chose to minus the front. The second icon on the top left of the panel.
    <br />
    <br />And there you are.
    <br />
    <br />Now I can do a Video or perhaps someone like Mordy will stop by and clean up my explanation as I understand i am often not easy to follow as far as my writing is concerned.
    <br />
    <br />I hope this helps.

  • How to create this lighting effect in Premiere Pro or After Effects?

    Hey,
    I'm a student and premiere beginner and I'm trying to make my first video in premiere. In this video,  Drawing Channing Tatum - YouTube ,  you will see that lighting effects in the first 10 seconds. How can i create this?
    I thank you so much!
    Marie

    That is stock footage of the ends of a film roll exposed to light during the loading process that is simply laid over the video with the add or screen blend mode applied. You can search for "film damage" stock footage and find something that would work from stock footage houses. You can fake your own with shape layers, blurs and opacity animations using the same add or screen blend mode. It's just much harder to get the film damage to look "real."
    Here's what my google search turned up as the first link to stock footage. I have no relationship with this company and have never used their footage.
    http://www.pond5.com/stock-footage/20486672/film-burn-light-transitions.html
    You could also just get your smart phone close to a lightbulb, make sure it's out of focus and then move it around.

  • Can Someone Tell Me How to Do This Text Effect?

    Ok so this video has this text effect that I spent 2 days looking on how to do it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LATGUNnlUr8
    The text effect starts at 0:47-0:49
    I tried looking for plugins and etc but I just can't find any that do this or something similar to it! It would mean a lot if you could tell me how to do it ^^

    The text itself simply appears character by character.  The "Typewriter" animation preset will do the job.  Additionally, there's a spray of particles accompanying the text.  You could generate these with the CC Particl World plugin.  You'll need to match the floor of the effect to the floor of your shot/background.  Animate the location of the particle generator to match the locatio of the appearing text.  Finally, apply some Glow.

    Use the bezier tool to create your shapes, give the shapes an Airbrush outline. Then apply a Write On behavior to each shape. Position the shapes in the timeline so they appear sequentially. To achieve the zooming out effect, you can either scale the whole group, or convert the group to 3D and use the camera to zoom out.
