How do I create track aliases in iTunes?

I have a huge playlist consisting of over 2000 tracks and sorted in a particular way (for which I use text in the Comment field). I wish to insert 'breaks' at quite a number of different points in this playlist, for which I have created a music "jingle" followed by half a minute of silence. This is 650k in size.
Now I do understand that a track can be added into a playlist any number of times. But unfortunately, to get it to sort into the correct places, I need to change the Comment field for each one.
I need about 200 of these jingles. I would really much rather create aliases of it. How do I create an alias, where the track is exactly the same, but one of the tags changes?

That's exactly what I was asking - I can't have a number of aliases for this track where the CONTENTS (i.e. audio) remain the same, but the TAGS can be different?
That is exactly what I was answering. You can't.
The comment gets written to the appropriate field of the ID3 tags, and thus will be the same if you have multiple entries for the same file. If you want to see how this works, edit the comment field in iTunes, and then look at the file in another program, such as Winamp. You will see your comment there. It is part of the file.
If you want different comments, you need different files.

how do i create a playlist in itunes from my iphone 4s?

On my iphone 4s I have 2 songs in the purchased category that I want to manually move into an existing playlist.  I can not figure it out.
If the existing playlist is a regular (non-smart) playlist, then you can edit it directly on the iPhone. Just select the playlist and you should see an "Edit" button at the top, above the songs.  If you don't see that, then it must be a smart playlist since those can't be edited on the device. Once you tap the Edit button you would then navigate to the song you want to add and press the blue + sign to the right of the song, then press Done when you're finished.
One caveat though, if you auto-sync your iPhone, the changes you make will not be preserved -- the playlist will revert to how it was next time you sync to iTunes.  So if you want to edit a playlist on your iPhone and then transfer it to iTunes, you have to create a new (empty) playlist on your iPhone, add the playlist that you wanted to edit to the new playlist, then add or delete more songs to the new playlist.  When you auto-sync, the new playlist will transfer to your iTunes library.
But if you manually manage your iPhone, the playlist should remain in its edited state even if you connect to your library (but admittedly its been awhile since I tried manual mode).

how can i create an account in itunes from Bangladesh ?

If you go to the artist's/group's page in the store then you should be able to do it e.g. search for the artist in the store, and on the right-hand side of the results page there should be list of content categories that match that search, and below it a link for the artist
Click on the artist's name to go to a screen listing their items, and at the top right of that screen there should be a 'share' icon'
Click on that and on the popup you should have an option for 'alert me' (I haven't used it but I assume that it works).

  • How do I create a ringtone in iTunes 10.2.2?

I have found an article that shows how to create a ringtone in iTunes 9.2 and it does not seem to apply to iTunes 10.2.2
Can I safely download 9.2, create a ringtone in the iTunes Store and not affect my current application?
    Thanks for the help,
    eAL

I am completely unable to use a purchased "ringtone" as a ringtone because iTunes will not recognize it as such. I have tried the instructions in the above article (numerous times), and found the same instructions all around google.  I can NOT move a 30 sec clip I purchased today on iTunes from the music library to the ringtones on my iMac.  It is my understanding from hours of researching this problem, that music sold on iTunes from a computer can NOT be used as ringtones because they are not truly ringtones??  Instead, I have to purchase music from the iPhone under the iTunes App > More > Ringtones.  Is this correct??  I'm so beyond frustrated.  Mac is NEVER this difficult.  Why on earth would anyone want to purchase a 30 sec. clip of a song and NOT be able to use it as a ringtone?  If this is truly the case then there should be a disclaimer in iTunes stating that fact.
I also discovered while following instructions from another post, that the song I just downloaded today is not under the "purchased" section of my iTunes account, yet it is in my music library.  Huh??  How can that be?  Is it because I've changed the format from m4a to m4r and it's now different than what I purchased?
I'm so confused and think I may have to resign myself to re-purchasing a lesser liked ringtone from the same song directly from my iPhone.

  • HT1589 How do I create a folder in Itunes

How do I create a new folder in Itunes?  I would like to create some genre folders and move the appopriate tunes in them.

Genres are not folders, they are a classification.
To create a genre, select the song in question and press the ALT key, followed by the F key and then the G key (that's (Menu)/File/Get Info/ ) and then select the Genre box at the bottom of the Info tab. Type in the genre you want and press OK.
You can change the Genre for multiple songs at one time. Simply highlight the songs in question and follow the procedure above. (You will see a question "Are you sure you want to edit information for multiple items?") You will notice that the Genre box will be empty if the songs you have selected have more different genres.

  • How do I delete tracks in my itunes library?

I accidently downloaded an album more than once into my itumes library.  How do I delete tracks or complete albums that I no longer want?  I click the delete key on the keyboard, but that does not work.  There is no DELETE choice available under File and Edit in Itunes.

    Hey Dana from Seattle,
Thanks for the question. Are you attempting to delete the content from the “Songs” view in iTunes? You’ll need to switch to this view to delete content:
How to delete content you've downloaded from the iTunes Store, App Store, iBooks Store, or Mac App Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5772
    Mac or PC
    1. Open iTunes.
    2. From the Library pop-up menu, choose Music.
    3. Click Songs in the navigation bar.
    4. Click the song you want to delete.
    5. Press Delete on your keyboard.
In iTunes 11 or later, the album cover art will remain visible, but a Download icon will appear on it to allow you to download the item again (in countries that support this).
Note: If you didn't purchase a song from the iTunes Store, you can't download it again for free from iTunes in the Cloud. You might want to back it up somewhere on your computer.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • How can I create Tracking-Areas in Cocoa-Applescript?

How can I create multiple tracking areas that activate handlers that are specific to a certain area, when the mouse enters that area, in Cocoa-Applescript, Xcode 5?

You can use NSTrackingArea to set up the area(s) you want to track.  For example, if you have a view named "myView" that you wanted to use, you can set up a tracking area by specifying the rectangle (I am going to use the entire view) and tracking options with something like:
set options to (current application's NSTrackingMouseEnteredAndExited as integer) + (current application's NSTrackingActiveInKeyWindow as integer) + (current application's NSTrackingInVisibleRect as integer)
       set trackingArea to current application's class "NSTrackingArea"'s alloc's initWithRect:(myView's frame()) options:options owner:me userInfo:"tracking myView"
       myView's addTrackingArea:trackingArea
The options are a bit wordy, but they determine how things are tracked - you could also just look up what they are in the class headers and use that.  You then need to add NSResponder handlers in the owner class for what you are interested in - for this example, they would be:
on mouseEntered:theEvent -- cursor has entered a tracking rectangle
        log "mouseEntered"
log theEvent's userData() -- data specific to a trackingArea
      end mouseEntered:
on mouseExited:theEvent -- cursor has exited a tracking rectangle
        log "mouseExited"
log theEvent's userData() -- data specific to a trackingArea
      end mouseExited:
When using multiple tracking areas, you can add some user info that can be retrieved from the event.  In the above example, I used the string "tracking myView", but it can be whatever you want.

  • How can i create a playlist in iTunes and have the playlist show up on iPhone 5

I painstakingly spent a considerable amout of time creating a playlist in iTunes on Windows, and now when I sync my iPhone, and open the Music app, I do not see the playlist at all.  When I select 'On this device' in iTunes, I can see the playlist listed, but a large number of the songs are greyed out, and do not play in iTunes.  These are simply songs I selected from my iTunes library into an iTunes playlist, and I sync'ed my iPhone saying transfer only selected playlists, etc, and now the playlist does NOT show up on the iPhone.
    Any ideas?

  • How can I create chapter markers that iTunes will recognize?

I recently purchased several audiobooks from Barnes and Noble which are encoded as MP3s with chapter markers inserted into the metadata in a proprietary format. I am trying to convert them to appear properly in iTunes.
It appears that I could import them into a GarageBand podcast project, and create markers by hand there, but that is very slow and impractical for dozens of hours of audiobooks.
I would like to simply edit the metadata associated with the file so that iTunes will recognize them.
Here is an example MP3 audiobook file with proprietary chapter metadata:

The resulting file appears to have chapter markers in the same format as the iTunes audiobook format, however the chapter markers don't show up in iTunes, QuickTime Player or on my iPhone. VLC however does recognize the chapter markers.
Can anybody point me in the right direction? I seem to be at a bit of an impasse here.
Edit: I am using iTunes 10.1.2 if that makes any difference.

    Hi,
WS20000077 this std. Workflow for the PR Release this has different levels of approvals, Depends on the no. of approvals it will flow.
The approver can picked using the User Exit M06B0001 (EXIT_SAPLEBNF_001), here you have to write a logic to pick the Approver.
The approval workitem comes to SAP Inbox, once the approver click the workitem it will open the Transaction, there the user can approve.
And for BUS2009 issue , discuss with Functional Consultant check configuration done separately  for Purchase requisition item.

  • How do I create a ringtone in itunes for my iphone?

I have itunes 10 and a iphone 3gs. I'd like to use one of the songs in my libarary to create a ringtone for my phone. What are the steps to doing this?

Set your iTunes import preferences to AAC encoder / HQ
Select the track you want to convert - right click - get info - Options
Select Start/Stop Time: Make sure that the resulting playtime is less then approx 39 sec - OK
Right-click again on that track: Create AAC version
Delete the resulting file from your iTunes library
Move it from Trash to your Desktop
Rename it from .m4a to .m4r
    Double-Click that .m4r file

If you're using Windows, look in your computer's Help documentation and learn how to set up additional user accounts.
    1) Click the Start Menu, and then point to "Help" or "Help and Support."
    2) Enter "new user" in the Search field and press Return.

  • How do I create a whole new iTunes on my iMac?

I have an external  hard drive with my whole catalog of music that will be my iTunes library.  Wanting to start fresh I removed all the the iTunes media off my iMac, moved my iTunes to the trash and then went to the Apple website and downloaded and then installed a fresh iTunes onto my iMac.  My plan after that was to import my library on my external hard drive back into the newly installed iTunes.  To my surprise when I started iTunes the shell of my old library appeared.  If I select a song or artist I get the message "The song XX could not be used because the original file could not be found.."  Well duh, the music files no longer exist on my internal hardrive (at least until the new library is put back on).  My question is how to I get a completely fresh start with iTunes on my iMac.  Once I have a fresh iTunes (nothing residual from the previous) I will import my music library on the hard drive).  Help!  This can't be this hard!  Thanks!
    Cheers,
    Gerry

What happened was you deleted the media folders from the iTunes folder, but left the index files in place - so iTunes had the information of what songs ought to be there but no media. As Steve says, delete the entire 'iTunes' folder in the 'Music' folder. You will then have an empty iTunes library and can drag your music from the external hard drive into iTunes.

Once an item is in your download queue, you cannot stop it.
Let the download complete and then delete the unwanted item.
Or, you can contact iTunes Store support abd ask them to clear your download queue.  http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
