How do I deactivate my Lightroom 5.4 on my computer to install on my new laptop?

I just bought a new laptop and am giving away my older laptop, but cannot do so with my Lightroom activated in it. The Help tab shows no option, unlike Photoshop, and I'm really needing it done ASAP because my old laptop will be picked up soon.

HI,
Lightroom doesn't have the same activation/deactivation process as Photoshop, simply download to the new computer and reenter your serial. And just uninstall if you are no longer using the older PC.

You are allowed to have the software installed and activated on two machines so there is no requirement to deactivate on the old one... but you can.
If you do not have the discs for CS5 and need to download it, then you can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site or else the download will not work properly.

How to I buy an ISO file of Windows 8.1 to install on my new MacBook bootcamp?
I can only find DVDs of Win 8.1; the online download is for upgrades from Win 7 only.  I need a clean install version.

Yes, you can use a Parallels VM and run the Download Manager to download the Installation Media in a format of your choice. If your Mac has a built-in Optical drive, you can burn it. Please ensure you burn the DVD at the rate supported by the media. You should also verify the MD5sum/SHA1 for the downloaded file(s) using the Microsoft FCIV tool.

  • How do I deactivate my Lightroom 5 license from my work computer

    Hi,
Can someone  please  tell what process I need to do to deactivate my Lightroom 5 license from my work computer. I do not want to uninstall the software before I know that I have deactivated the license so that I could install it on my new laptop.
I cannot see anywhere on the Lightroom 5 software or on the Adobe website to do this procedure.
    Thanks
    Maurice

Lightroom does not have a deactivate procedure like Photoshop CS/CC or Photoshop Elements. The license agreement permits 2 active installations with one in use at any point in time.
You can uninstall from one and install on another as often as necessary, you are just expected to adhere to the agreement.

  • Cs3 - How do I deactivate one license from a distant inactive computer?

    System configuration
    (1) Registered cs3 for mac with serial numbers with me
    (2) Mac G5 inactive with one cs3 license and original disks in a distant location
    (3) MacBook active with a 2nd license with me
    (4) MacBookPro
I migrated the cs3 from (3) to (4). How do I deactivate the license (2) to activate it on (4)?
    Thanks

Contact support to reset activations. And forget about 3) and 4). You need to install your software properly, not migrate it.

  • How do I deactivate CSS6 apps on my old dead computer

I bought a new iMac because my old one died (therefore could not deactivate css6 apps). How do I activate the programs for use on my new iMac?

You need to contact Adobe Support thru chat and ask them to reset your activations to get the used activation freed up.  Your license allows you to have two activated installations, so there should not be any reason you can't just install on the new machine and activate it now, except if you do pursue the reset it will reset all your activations... so it might be better to wait.

  • How do I deactivate LR5 so I can activate another computer?

I cannot seem to deactivate LR5 on a computer that I'm replacing with a laptop.

That's because there is no activation process with Lightroom. All you need to do is install it on the laptop. The license allows for two installations for your personal use. If you uninstall on the old computer then you have one installation that you can use on yet another computer. Just remember that the second installation is for YOUR own personal use only.

  • How do I deactivate Photoshop Elements 9 from a dead computer?

    Hello,
I recently got a new computer to replace my old one which stopped working. I had Photoshop Elements 9 installed on the old computer and used it often, so I installed it on my new computer. However, it told me that the serial number had been used for 2 computers already (my old computer and my dad's computer) and that I needed to deactivate the old one before I can activate this one. This is impossible because the old computer can't be used anymore.
Is there some way the serial number on my old computer could be deactivated online?
    Many thanks,
    -Mike

Now I want to activate my PSP ELements 9 on new computer.  It says "Activation limit reached for Adobe Photoshop Elements 9. " And it wants me to deactivate my PSP ELements on the broken computer or a new serial number. As far as I cannot deactivate it on the broken computer, I am writing you to ask for help. I am not the US, I am Slovak. What can I do to use my PSP ELements 9 now ???
Thanks so much for your help in advance.

  • ...How to take the lightroom program off a crashed computer and installing the program on other comp

Intstalling lightroom on more than one computer after 1st computer crashed

You need the installer file that you downloaded, or the installer CD, to install LR on a new computer. You will need to have your serial number handy. There is no "deactivation" of Lightroom on the old computer, nor is there an "activation" of Lightroom on the new computer.

  • I lost my laptop I didn't back up and I just bought a new one .How can I get all the songs I bought in itunes store back to my new laptop??

    can someone help me please?
I lost my laptop on Monday and I didn't back up. I just bought a new macbook air so I know I have to install all my applications and softwares again but I was told I could get my old itunes library I mean all the music I bought back in my new laptop. can someone tell me how to do it or if I can?

Sorry, but officially Apple does not allow redownloads of purchased items other than iPhone/iPod touch applications and iBooks. It's your responsibility to make backup copies (as iTunes itself advises) in case something goes wrong with your system, as unfortunately it apparently did in your case, and you lose all the information on your hard drive. The official statement of their policy can be found here, among other places.
For apps, look here for instructions on redownloading.  For songs, movies, and videos, if you don't have a backup of your purchased items, either on external media or another computer and don't have them on an iOS device (iPhone, iPod touch, iPad), you're probably out of luck and will need to repurchase your content.
If you have your content on an iOS device, post back and someone here can help you get them restored. Otherwise you can try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service (select the "Music Purchases" or "Video Purchases" category, as appropriate, then "Lost or Missing Items". You'll find either an "Express Lane" button - just follow the instructions to get to the contact form - or an "Email Us" button) ") and explaining what happened. Reportedly in some cases Apple has allowed redownloading on a one-time basis. But don't count on it.
    Regards.

  • How do I get DVD for the Windows 7 that should have come with my new laptop please

This is my first message here so please bear with me. I have just bought a new Lenovo Essentials B570 laptop which has come with Windows 7 pre-installed. Previously I used to buy Dell laptops which used to come with OS Re-installation DVDs which check to see if they are being installed on the hardware it was bought for but would allow us to install the OS on a new hard disk if the original one crashed. Now Lenovo seems to be using a very complicated method to allow buyer's to re-install the OS - they are expected to retain the same hard disk - but what happens is the hard disk crashes and one wants to install the OS along with all the drivers? The Dell DVD allows me to do precisely that. Can I create a similar disk to install the OS on a new hard disk as and when I want/need it please? I have created two sets of DVDs using the OKR software - one set using the 'system presently on disk' and another set for 'resetting to factory defaults' - but from what I have read on these forums these OKR disks would not work if I put a completely new hard disk. So at least if I can get hold of the correct version of the Windows DVD - as I have paid for the license I would be very grateful. Thank you.

    Thanks for the quick reply.
But to me this looks more like a OKR solution and I have already created these Factory Reset discs.
Will these discs work if I have installed a completely new hard disk in the dive? Because that is what I would need to do in the rare event that I have a complete hard disk failure.
What is confusing is the fact that on these forums, I find many messages which indicate that the OKR solution would work only with the original hard disk and it would not work with a completely new hard disk and also that the OKR itself would not be able to change partitions on the hard disk - even when it is the original hard disk. To me this means any disks that are created using the OKR would be useless when the original hard disk has undergone severe change or a completely new hard disk is in its place. Correct me if I am wrong. (In fact I am hoping that I am wrong in that assumption.)
My laptop has a 750GB hard disk and it has Windows 7, 64bit. I actually want to make this into a dual boot machine with KUbuntu. What is stopping me attempting that is the fact that C drive has bigger partition and D drive is a smaller partition (too small in fact - 30GB these days is practically nothing) and I learn that any modifications I do to drive partitions would render the OKR non functional.
I can live without this simplistic one key rescue operation if I have recourse to the Windows 7 DVD and that is why I asked the question.

  • I have bought a new laptop and I want sync and back-up my iPhone4 to the iTunes installed on my new laptop. How do I do it?

    Hi all,
I have recently bought a new laptop.
My old desktop PC has been used to sync and back-up my iPhone4.
However, when I installed itunes on the new laptop and tried to sync the iphone I got the message
"iPhone can only be synced with one iTunes library"
How can designate my new laptop as the one wheer I can sync and back-up my iPhone?
    Old PC: Windows XP
    New PC: Windows 7
Can somebody please send me step by step guide as im a novice with PC/iTunes
    Hope somebody can help.
    Thanks in advance.
    Bhav P

It will clear the phone. You need to restore the backup you made of your important files from the old computer (surely no one in the third millennium who uses a computer does not back it up regularly).
You can recover iTunes-purchased music, videos and apps from the phone, but not music from other sources. Connect the phone, do not sync, and choose "Transfer Purchases" from the File menu.
Photos in the Camera Roll can be transferred buy using the Camera Wizard on your computer.
Contacts and Calendar can be synced with apps on your computer; just make sure there is at least one entry in each app on the computer before syncing.
You are out of luck if you have photos in the Photo app on the phone; there are apps for your computer that can extract them, but they will be lower resolution than originals because they have been optimized for the iPhone's resolution.
