How do I deactivate old computers I no longer own to activate my new one?

About De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
1. Open iTunes on a computer
2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

If you do not have the PC anymore and want to unauthorize it you can unauthorize all PC's by going to the iTunes Store and signing in. Once signed in click the Account button which is the part where you Apple ID appears once signed in. You will be asked to enter your password again. Once you do so, click view account. In the Account Information Window, beside 'Computer Authorizations' click Deauthorize All. Please note, once doing this you will have to authorize the computer you are using otherwise you will be unable to do things involving your Apple Products and Purchases.

I did the same thing on my MacBook Pro so it may not work the same way on your computer but give this a try.
When in iTunes go to the Store menu and "Deauthorize Computer.." Once this process has finished "Authorize Computer.." from the Store menu, this will ensure that you still have the correct number of authorizations available.

i got an email saying that 'fruit ninja' was purchased on my apple ID account - I didn't purchase it so i followed the instructions to change my password.
when i logged in my account was either hacke by someone or somehow confused with someone elses.... my email address was tied to someone else's adddress, phone number, credit card etc - I just want to delete my account and start over, but i can't figure out how to delete. and of course there is no tech support for this... even though they require my credit card on file......

iTunes Authorizations are limited to 5 Computers and 10 devices total. If you've already reached the 5 computer threshold, removing the iPod won't do any good. Nevertheless, here's some more info:
