How do I deauthirize a computer you no longer have?

I have my limit of 5 authirized PC's. I only have 3 pc. So how do I deauthirize the 2 PC's I no longer have?

You can die authorize all from iTunes the reauthorize the devices you still have.

If you did not deauthorize before selling, you have to deauthorize all from your actual computer:
Remember to deauthorize your computer before you sell it, give it away, or get your computer serviced. Also, make sure you deauthorize your computer before you upgrade your RAM, hard disk or other system components, or reinstall Windows. If you do not deauthorize your computer before you upgrade these components, one computer may use multiple authorizations.

  • How do i deactivate a computer i no longer have from my homesharing?

hi, I have just purchased a new computer because my previous laptop died - when I downloaded I tunes, it has told me all my 5 homesharing devices are full - how do I deactivate a computer I no longer physically have anymore - can you reset homesharing computers without losing your data?

Use the Deauthorize All command documented in this article, or if it isn't an option, the 'contact iTunes Store support' link at the bottom of it.

  • How do you retrieve files from a Time Capsule backup that was made by a computer you no longer have?

I have a Time Capsule that has backed up five computers over the last six years.  Four of those computers I no longer have or the drives are not working.  I want to retrieve some old pictures from these backups. They are stored in large ".sparsebundle" files.

The first choice that you should consider is to use Migration Assistant on your Mac.
Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > Migration Assistant
The last choice would be to try the steps below that work for me......but there is no guarantee that they will work for you. Also, please be aware that there is always a chance that the backups for the Macs that you still have might be damaged in the process if things go wrong.
Proceed at your own risk. The advice mentioned below is worth about as much as you paid to visit this web page.
    If you wish to continue......
Pick one sparsebundle file from an "old" Mac and double click on it to see if that will mount the drive icon on the Mac computer that you have there. This will be a white "disk" icon, likely named Time Machine Backups, similar to the illustration below:
You may be asked for a password when you double click on the sparsebundle file. That might be the Time Capsule disk password, or it might also be the administrator password for the "old" Mac.
If you have made it this far, please report on your progress.

  • How can I deauthorise a computer I no longer have?

    Hi
I've got several computers authorised to play music purchased from iTunes.
One of those computers died sometime ago unexpectedly and is beyond repair. Because I can't use that computer to open up iTunes and deauthorise, is there a way I can look at the list of computers already authorised and remove the damaged computer from the list?
I've used iTunes for a long time, and can't think of an answer. If anyone has a clue i'll -be very grateful!

is there a way I can look at the list of computers already authorised and remove the damaged computer from the list?
    No.
When you get to 5 authorized, you can select Deauthorize all and then reauthorize what you currently have.

  • HT1420 How to deauthorize all computers if you no longer have access to the authorized computers

I have a new computer and have moved to a new state.  I tried to authorize this computer but unable b/c I've used my 5 authorizations.  Besides contacting people to deauthorize my old computers, what can I do from here?

Use the iTunes command Store > Deauthorize All, and then re-authorize just the ones you are going to use.
That command only appears if you are at the limit of 5, and you can only use it once per 12 months.

  • How can you deauthorize a computer that you no longer have?

How can I deauthorize a computer I no longer have? I was trying to sign into my itunes on my computer and it said that it was already being used on 5 other computers and that I would have to deauthorize one of them before I could sign in. I don't have any of those computers anymore so what needs to be done?

De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.
For more information on authorization and de-authorization: iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.
