How do I deauthorise computers that I no longer have access to?

That's it really - when in iTunes you go Store>Deauthorise this computer I can only do this PC which I want to be the only authoried PC - before you could deauthorise all PCs?
Thanks,
Dave

You cannot yourself deauthorize a computer that's not working or to which you no longer have access. You can authorize a total of up to five systems, so it's probably not really important that you deauthorize other units now. Once you reach five total authorizations, a button will appear in your iTunes Store account that will allow you to deauthorize all your systems, so that would at that time recover any now-useless authorizations.
If for some reason you really feel you need to deauthorize other systems now, you can try contacting the iTunes Store customer support department through the form at the bottom of their Support page (select the category and subcategory closest to the issue you're reporting) and explaining the problem to them. They might be willing to clear your authorizations for you.
Regards.

  • TS2972 How do I deauthorize computers that I no longer have?

How do I deauthorize computers that I no longer have access to?  It's been a long time since I first started using iTunes and didn't think to deauthorize a computer when we took it out of service, or it crashed and then we couldn't take it out of service if we wanted to. So, now that I have a new MacBook, I want to authorize it with my iTunes account and the only option to deuthorize a computer is "deauthorize all" - or deauthoize from the actual computer (which I no longer have due to it crashing, etc..)
So, part two of my question -- if I have to choose "deauthorize all" will it affect anything in my current libraries?  I'm hoping I can just "deauthorize all" and then go to the specific computers I have now and reauthorize without losing any music, etc.  Is that a correct assumption?
    Thanks!

If you no longer have, or access to, the computer(s) you want to deauthorise,
Log in to iTunes,  go to "view your account info" on the itunes store, deauthorise all five, (Please Note: this can only be done Once every 12 months)  and then re-authorize your current Computer(s) one at a time.

  • I need to deactivate Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 for mac on two computers that I no longer have access to.

    How do I do that?

    Hi ,
To deactivate Acrobat from your machines ,you could simply uninstall the software from both the computer and it will automatically deactivate the software.
The second option to deactivate the product is to connect with the Adobe support .They could guide you on how to deactivate the software from your end or would do it from their end .
If you wish you could refer the following link to connect with them .

  • HT1420 How to deauthorize all computers if you no longer have access to the authorized computers

I have a new computer and have moved to a new state.  I tried to authorize this computer but unable b/c I've used my 5 authorizations.  Besides contacting people to deauthorize my old computers, what can I do from here?

Use the iTunes command Store > Deauthorize All, and then re-authorize just the ones you are going to use.
That command only appears if you are at the limit of 5, and you can only use it once per 12 months.

How do you deauthorize computers that are no longer functional?

i followed the directions to deauthorize one "fried" computer and one old Windows laptop i no longer use from my new MacBook Pro.  When i go into iTunes on my new MacBook Pro, however, iTunes says i still have 5 authorized computers and i can't set up my music on my laptop using iTunes Match.  I did not deauthorize all my computers because i still have an iphone and two ipads.  Now that i've invoked deauthorize, what am i supposed to do for the next 12 months until i can deauthorize again?

Click here and ask the iTunes Store staff for assistance. Only they can perform a second Deauthorize All before the year ends.

If when you go to icloud.com and sign in with your current iCloud ID you see all your iCloud data there, you can safely sign out of the iCloud account on your Mac and choose Delete at all the prompts, then sign back in with the current ID.  This only deletes the data from your Mac, not from iCloud.  Your iCloud data will reappear on your Mac when you sign back in after a brief delay as it redownloads.  If you have automatically imported your photo stream photos to your iPhoto library you won't lose them either (if you haven't, save them to your library first).
Again, only do this if when you go to icloud.com with your current ID you see your iCloud data there.

  • Deauthorizing old computers that you do not have access to

    Hi Folks,
I need to deauthorize an old work computer that i no longer have access to. I have searched the forum and the help topics and they refer to a deauthorize all button. I have looked on my account page in itunes but it says 2 computers authorised but there is no deauthorize all button? i have not used it this year so that cant be the reason, on the drop down bar it only shows deauthorize this computer.... any suggestions?

it will be there once you reached the limit of five authorizations.

  • How do you change your icloud account information? It contains an old email address that i no longer have access to

I have an icloud account but i need to change the user id for it as its an old email address that i no longer have access to. This is different from my apple id.

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
Note: this will only work if the old ID is yours, and if your new ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID).

  • I have an ipod 2nd gen that was synced to a computer that i no longer have access to..now when i plug it in to my current computer itunes wants to delete all my songs!!!!!

I have a ipod 2nd gen that was synced to a computer that i no longer have access to...now when i plug it in to my new computer it shows the ipod but wants to erase all my music on the ipod in order to use itunes!!!

I think that's the way it's supposed to work. When you connect to a computer that has iTunes, but is different from the computer you are normally synced to, you are asked if you want to sync to the current computer. If you say yes, it will replace the content of your iPod with what is designated to sync in the iTunes. If you say no, it will leave your content alone, but you won't be able to load any new songs, but you can still use it in disk mode as a storage device.
The exception is that you can transfer your iTunes store purchases to the new computer from the iPod, but I haven't done that myself. I'm not sure, but I don't think you can transfer non-store tracks, like those you burn from your own CDs. You have to copy those manually and then sync them onto the iPod.
Anyway, that's how it works with a 6th gen and the latest iTunes. Not sure if there is a limitation with 2nd gen.

I am locked out of iTunes because I can't remember the answer to my security questions, and my 'rescue email' is one that I no longer have access to... Help!

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; this can be done by phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, or clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed in either article, filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.
