How do I deauthorize computers I no longer have access to?

My hard drive crashed on my laptop so I put a new hard drive and installed a new OS so I was unable to deauthorize the computer. Since then I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 and forgot to deauthorize. Now iTunes is counting that one computer as 3 separate authorized computers. How do I deauthorize those other "no longer existing" computers from a different computer?

If you have not reached your 5 computer limit, you cannot deauthorize the old computers. Either authorize your account on some friends machines to get up to 5, then deauthorize them all in your iTunes account yourself... OR... call Apple Support and ask them to do it for you (say that you think your account might be compromised if they don't).

How can I authorize my new laptop when my old laptop was stolen and I am unable to deauthorize it? There are three other computers apparently on my account that I also am no aware of , nor do I have access to. I am unable to add any new computers to my account.

You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. Otherwise you can "deauthorize all" from your iTunes account.
    Open iTunes on a computer
From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
Under "Computer Authorizations" select "Deauthorize All".
Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "deauthorize all" your authorized computers, authorize each one as required.

  • How to deauthorize computer I no longer have access to

I just got a new personal computer and would like to play my iTunes content in it as well. However, over the years, I've authorized the limit total of 5 computers to play stuff I downloaded from iTunes. However, 3 of those computers I don't have anymore and I would still like to be able to play my content on the 2 computers I currently have, only one of which is authorized. How do I deauthorize the 3 computers I no longer have so I can keep playing my content on my current computers?

  • HT1349 I have replaced the hard-drive and updated the operating system of my laptop computer.  How do I deauthorize computers I don't have anymore?

I received an error message from iTunes store regarding my recent app purchase.  I already have 5 authorized computers so I can't sync the purchased app from my current computer.
My problem is, within four months I replaced the operating systems to my desktop and laptop.  As for the other 3 authorized computers are long gone (when I didn't understand I had to deauthorize computers).
Can someone help me with this problem?  I can't get internet at my home so I have to go to the local library or coffee house and get wifi, so I need to access my itunes from my laptop.  How can I reset these accounts so I can keep the two I need?
    Thanks, Dave

  • How do I de-authorize home sharing on computers I no longer have access to?

I am trying to turn on home sharing with a new work computer...but cannot because I am already authorized on past machines (5 in total).  How do I DE-AUTHORIZE old machines without access to them?

If you have reached the 5 computer limit you can deauthorise all and then just authorise the latest ones...

  • TS2972 How do I deauthorize computers that I no longer have?

How do I deauthorize computers that I no longer have access to?  It's been a long time since I first started using iTunes and didn't think to deauthorize a computer when we took it out of service, or it crashed and then we couldn't take it out of service if we wanted to. So, now that I have a new MacBook, I want to authorize it with my iTunes account and the only option to deuthorize a computer is "deauthorize all" - or deauthoize from the actual computer (which I no longer have due to it crashing, etc..)
So, part two of my question -- if I have to choose "deauthorize all" will it affect anything in my current libraries?  I'm hoping I can just "deauthorize all" and then go to the specific computers I have now and reauthorize without losing any music, etc.  Is that a correct assumption?
    Thanks!

If you no longer have, or access to, the computer(s) you want to deauthorise,
Log in to iTunes,  go to "view your account info" on the itunes store, deauthorise all five, (Please Note: this can only be done Once every 12 months)  and then re-authorize your current Computer(s) one at a time.

How do you deauthorize computers that are no longer functional?

i followed the directions to deauthorize one "fried" computer and one old Windows laptop i no longer use from my new MacBook Pro.  When i go into iTunes on my new MacBook Pro, however, iTunes says i still have 5 authorized computers and i can't set up my music on my laptop using iTunes Match.  I did not deauthorize all my computers because i still have an iphone and two ipads.  Now that i've invoked deauthorize, what am i supposed to do for the next 12 months until i can deauthorize again?

If you find you have reached 5 authorizations due to system upgrades, you can reset your authorization count by clicking Deauthorize All in the Account Information screen. Note: You may only use this feature once per year. The Deauthorize All button will not appear if you have fewer than 5 authorized computers or if you have used this option within the last 12 months.
in itunes 7 you can access your account by going into the music store and clicking the account link on the right hand side of the music store then sign in using your account details
