How do I decrease the size (remove unused space/padding) of the Foxfire browser header?

Using a new install of Ubuntu 10.04 there is too much space between lines in the Foxfire header, so the browser window takes up excessive space. How can I resize the header to use less space between lines?

If you use a custom theme then it is possible that there is a problem with that theme or another extension is causing that problem.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

I would not worry about Other because they contain files that you need, but if you want to decrease the size, start deleting downloads and documents

Set your columns back to one for the moment. In layout mode, insert a Text box. Place it in the upper left corner of your document, and drag down and right to the size of the container for your two columns. Click inside the Text Box, and now bump up your columns to 2. Your two columns are now contained in this resizable Text Box.

How can I decrease the leading on all hard returns?

How can I decrease the leading on all hard returns? I have a paragraphs that has 12pt leading, but I want 8pt leading on the returns. Is there a way to change them all at the same time? I know you can increase them by using the space before and after tabs. They only let you go from 0" and up, but not in the negative.

I figured it out. Instead of having two hard returns I just used one and used the space after. I was using the space after and before option incorrectly. Thank you.

Attempting to use it, the program informed me that I needed to be using, either, an EI or a Firefox Browser mentioning version 1.5 {I think it was} or later. The Firefox browser I was using was 3.something; so, everything was going along FINE. When I installed the video capture program, it added the plugin to the browser ~ PERFECTLY!!! I, also, had MANY other plugins that worked and that I used somewhat regularly!!! NOT ANY MORE!!! YOU and your TOTALLY INEPT, WISHTHEYWUZ "PROGRAMMERS" have STOLEN nearly HALF of my COMPUTER!!! After resetting my iPhone, previous history came back as soon as I signed in with iCloud on it. I would really like this to not occur.

The only place that Thunderbird gets suggested addresses is from your address books. I have seen some not show up in the books because some key info was never stored when the contact was saved.
Sometimes you can start a new message and when the bad contact shows up select it. Create the message and save it to drafts. Then you can go to the Draft folder open the draft message by right clicking and select Open Message in Tab. Then click the star to the right of the contact and it will open the contact edit button. From there you can delete the contact.
This does not always work though.

How do I decrease the space before a footnote

I cannot figure out how to decrease the amount of "leading" space before the footnotes begin. The paragaraph before the footnote line has not ended, so cannot simply decrease the amount of space after that particular paragraph. The answer must be pretty simple, I just can't find it. Thanks.

If you're referring to a PDF file, you can reduce its size by using Acrobat. If you don't have Acrobat, please feel free to try it out. You can download a free 30-day trial from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html.
In Acrobat, you choose File > Save as Other > Reduced Size PDF, or File > Save as Other > Optimized PDF.

Reducing Project Size, Removing unused media

I just finished a project and now I'd like to reduce the size to free up some hard drive space. I'd like to keep the captured media files that were actually used in case there are any changes from the client, but delete the ones that were not. Is there an easy way to do this? Anyone have any good strategies when a project is finished.
Everything was captured using Log and capture, so I could reimport if necessary, but I had 20hrs of footage and only used 30minutes, so there's definitely some that wasn't touched.

It is safe to use the media manager...
Check your hard drive for space...for 30 mins means you'll need at least another 6.5 GB of free space... make it 8GB to be safe...
In media manager (NOTE : also read the manual carefully) use the COPY option...
Using COPY, ensure the 'duplicate selected items and place into a new project' box IS ticked, this will set up a completely new project and folder, containing ONLY EVERYTHING you have in your 30 min sequence... and will not delete or change anything from the origonal... If you go to the new folder you'll see another folder called 'media'... this will contain all the clips etc.
Then, open up the new COPIED project, watch it to check it's ok... if it's cool (which it should be) then you now have a completely independant project that is nothing to do with the origonal... and contains only used media.
Then, open up final cut pro docs>capture scratch> 'project name' and you can simply delete ALL your old media manually, knowing that everything you need is now in a new folder elsewhere....
Of course, this only works if you have that little bit of extra space left on your drive for the new media to be copied to... but i find it's the safest, and easiest way of removing unused media.

After I installed the latest version of firefox, it lists 20 recently visited web sites. I didn't change the settings, though... Moreover, the recently closed tabs appear above the recently visited tabs (which I didn't change, either). Up until now, I haven't found anything to undo this...

Where do you see those websites?
If it is in the location bar drop down list then reset the pref browser.urlbar.maxRichResults on the about:config page to the default value.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page. 
*Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold(user set).
*Preferences can be reset to the default or changed via the right-click context menu.
