How do I define a set of files as Trusted?

I'm using InDesign CS5 to create an interactive pdf containing hundreds of hyperlinks to htm files. When its done, both the pdf and the linked files will be supplied on a CD.
With CS3, I had to create the pdf in InDesign and then add the hyperlinks using Acrobat. However, once made, those links open up the htm files instantly. Now, with CS5, I make the hyperlinks in InDesign (which is the main reason I upgraded). But -- everytime I click on the link in the pdf file I get a Security Warning and must individually Allow every file. My version of Acrobat hasn't changed, so this feature must somehow be created by InDesign when it generates the pdf file. What must I do to make it go away?

The bit that Steve is missing (he's completely right, of course) is simply mentioning that that it matters to Acrobat whether you make the link in Acrobat or in ID. When you made the links in Acrobat, you were linking to files, not web pages, right? I see three options in Acrobat links, to link to a page view, a file, or a web page. If I make a link to a web page in Acrobat, I get a security warning. However, if I make a link to a local file in Acrobat, I don't get a security warning.
When I make hyperlinks in CS5, I can point them to a wider variety of destinations (file, url, text anchor, etc.) but if I make any hyperlink that points outside of the PDF, I always get a security warning. And, if I choose, I can change my own settings in Acrobat to get it to treat files I've linked to as trusted, which keeps that Security Warning window from appearing.
The kicker is that I'm changing my own settings in my own install of Acrobat. These are preferences for the Acrobat program on my hard drive, not for the PDF that I am working on. I know of no way to cause someone else's install of Acrobat to automatically start trusting your links to your files on your CD. In fact, that would be a huge security hole, if Adobe let a PDF define certain links as "Always Allow" if the user had set their Acrobat to "Always Ask."

  • How can i define folder to save files in DMS

    Dear all,
    How can i define folders to save uploaded files.
    Regards,
    Gaurav Sood

    Hi Gaurav,
    generally there are no 'folders' in DMS. In DMS we use document info records (DIR) which are mainly a kind of box which contains data like
    - descriptions
    - object links
    - classification data
    - original files
    So if you create such a DIR in transaction CV01N then you can also upload or assign a file to this document info record and check it in. So you can say that the folder is the document info record.
    Another possibility for DMS is to use EasyDMS which is a kind of small Add-On to the Windows explorer. In this Add-On
    folders are displayed to simplify the navigation for the user equal to the Windows Explorer. The folders you see in EasyDMS is a document BOM header in the SAP backend system. But mainly this is also a DIR which has additional DIRs assigned to build up a document BOM. If you have such a BOM header DIR than you can display the detailed BOM items by using transaction CV13 for example.
    So in a nutshell, if you want to upload files in DMS you need to create a document info record in transaction CV01N first. Therefore the customizing in transaction DC10 and DC30 is important.
    Best regards,
    Christoph

  • How can I download a set up file for Adobe Acrobat 8.2.0

    Hello. I have an error message showing up:
    Error 1311. Source file not found: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 8.0\Setup Files\{AC76BA86-1033-0000-7760-000000000003}\Data 1.cab.
    Verify files exists and that you can access it.
    Would downloading this file stop error messages coming up and the program from trying to re-install? I already have it on my PC.
    Cheers!

  • Defining location for iTunes files

    How do I define where my iTunes files are stored?
    I do not mean the music - I know how to do that.
    I mean the files such as iTunes Library.itl
    and especially the (hidden??) folder called iPod_Control.
    FYI: On my laptop, the "My music" folder is on a network drive (at work) which means that I cannot use iTunes when my laptop is at home! All my music is elsewhere on the C drive, but the iTunes control files are not local.

    hi Ghost in the Machine!
    just checking on some things before proceeding
    [My Documents]\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Library.itl
    where [My Documents] is normally c:\My Documents, but in my case is somewhere on a company network file server.
    I suspect that the above path is hard coded into the iTunes software and cannot be changed.
    are you getting a "the folder "itunes" cannot be found or created" message when you aren't connected to the work network?
    do Security Policies on the network allow you to make registry changes to the PC?
    (if so, we may be able to fix this for you.)
    looking back at the earlier post ... the ipod_control folder should only be showing up on your ipod. if it's showing up on a network drive, it's a sign that there's a Windows drive letter confusion going on:
    Windows confuses iPod with network drive and may keep iPod from mounting or songs may seem to disappear

    Hi All,
    Im new to Indesign Plugin Development.Can any one help me out with my problem.
    What i want to do is to run a javascript using Plugin Code.When i went through this forum i was able to find out that i should use the IscriptRunner Class to automate this.I could also figure out that the Member Function to use is "CanHandleFile" &"RunFile".
    The first parameter in CanHandleFile & RunFile Member Function is to specify the path of the JavaScript File i suppose!I could also find out that IDFile has to used to set the file path Information.
    But im clueless how to set the Javascript FilePath using IDFile.Can any one help me how to do this?Any Code Snippets Please?

    Hi,  Andreas<br /><br />  Can you explain this in detail? I found it in your post before.<br /><br />  The content of elements are returned through the Characters callback function:<br /><br />From ISaxContentHandler.h:<br /><br />/**<br />        Receives character data<br /><br />The parser will call this method to report each chunk of<br />        character data. I’m pretty sure Adobe NEVER intended for someone to copy an XMP file from one photo to another outside of LR as a way to replicate settings.   You can make a preset from a photo, as discussed, or if you don’t want to do that, copy-paste the settings from a representative photo that you initially select to one or more new photos.  You could have a special LR folder that holds standard photos to copy/paste from.  Of course creating a Develop preset from the representative photo is the “normal” way to handle such situations, but maybe you have hundreds of different situations to copy settings from and don’t want to create presets for each one, but I’d argue that you could create a complex folder hierarchy for your presets and still have them findable without that much problem.
    As far as the mystery about why some photos show Reset and some show From Metadata, is the Process Version (down in Camera Calibration) of the photo before reading the settings the same between the two situations?  And in general, are these virgin photos newly imported into LR or have some been modified in LR, already?  Does an XMP file already exist for any of these, where that XMP is being overwritten by your external-to-LR copying?  Or do you have auto-write-XMP enabled and your hand-copied XMP is getting overwritten by LR, automatically, before you have a chance to read in anything?

  • How can I set a file to hidden

    Hi all
    How can I set a file to hidden from within Java.
    This is what I have tried so far but with out any luck
        String[] cmd = new String[3];
        cmd[0] = "cmd.exe";
        cmd[1] = "attrib +h";
        cmd[2] = "\""+"C:/program files/Licence.xml"+"\"";
        Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
        Process proc = rt.exec(cmd);Thanks

    Try
    cmd[0] = "attrib"
    cmd[1] = "+h"
    cmd[2] = "C:\Program Files\Licence.xml"
    You may need to double the baskslashes
    Is the spelling of "Licence" correct?

  • How to set selected file in FileChooser showSaveDialog to default file name

    Hi,
    How do I set selected file in JavaFX 2.0 FileChooser showSaveDialog, so I can prompt the user with a suggested default file name?
    I am converting a Java Swing application I wrote a few years ago to JavaFX 2.0.
    In the Swing application, I use setSelectedFile() as follows:
    JFileChooser jFileChooser = new JFileChooser();
    jFileChooser.setSelectedFile(new File(backupfile));
    jFileChooser.setCurrentDirectory(new File(outputDirectory));
    FileFilter filter = new FileNameExtensionFilter("Comma Delimited (*.csv)", "csv");
    jFileChooser.addChoosableFileFilter(filter);
    jFileChooser.setFileFilter(filter);
    filter = new FileNameExtensionFilter("XML Document (*.xml)", "xml");
    jFileChooser.addChoosableFileFilter(filter);
    jFileChooser.setAcceptAllFileFilterUsed(false);
    jFileChooser.setDialogTitle("Export File");
    int returnVal = jFileChooser.showDialog(jFrame, "Export");
    This would show a file chooser with the file name text field pre-populated with a default backup file name.
    I can't find an equivalent in JavaFX.
    Also, in the Swing application, I was able to determine which extension filter was selected at run time using getFileFilter().getDescription() as follows:
    String extension = jFileChooser.getFileFilter().getDescription();
    if (extension.equals("XML Document (*.xml)")) { ...
    I can't find an equivalent in JavaFX.
    Thanks,
    Barry

    You can use the open sequence file method on the application manager (then you only need to wire the file path)

  • How to set up file server in Azure Availability Set?

    Hi,
    We're going to set up file servers with SMB shares on VM:s in Azure.
    How do we set up the file services in the VM:s so that it works in an availability set?
    I've read something about using DFS. Is that the recommended "Best practice" way of doing that in Azure?
    /Andreas
    AN

    Hi Andreas,
    It depends on your needs. If you want to provide redundancy to your FTP services, it is recommended to group two VMs in an Availability Set to ensures that during either a planned or unplanned maintenance event, at least one VM will be
    available and meet the 99.95% Azure SLA.
    http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/virtual-machines-manage-availability/#configure-each-application-tier-into-separate-availability-sets
    If you want to set up two files servers in Azure VMs to an availability set, you can follow the steps below:
    1. Create a virtual network:
    http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/create-virtual-network/
    2. Create a VM in a new cloud service and choose teh virtual network you have created:
    http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/virtual-machines-windows-tutorial/
    3. After the VM is running, you can create an availability set on the VM in the Configure page of the VM in the managemeng portal.
    4. Create a new VM into the same cloud service and add it to the availability set.

    This information initial value is (maybe) stored in Windows Register (register.exe) at Software\SAP\SAPGUI Front\SAP Frontend Server\Filetransfer -> PathDownload, you can read it thru class CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES method GET_UPLOAD_DOWNLOAD_PATH and update it thru method REGISTRY_SET_VALUE. (Else there may be some parameter ID to force data, but I'm no longer sure)
