How do I delete a user account on icloud

I Keep getting the box with an user name and I do. To have the password. The box will not let me open the iPad's other features

Well first of all the OS X Lion experts are in the OS X Lion communities. But I can still help you. Open System Preferences>Click on Users & Groups>You may have to enter your password>Select the account from the left menu bar>Click on the minus sign on the bottom of that window. Hope this helps!

How do I delete a user account I am not using to regain the space on the HD?

System Preferences - Accounts - choose account in the left panel and click the "-" button to delete. You'll want to choose "Delete immediately" to save the space (the "Save in disk image" option will keep the files in an image in your Users folder, which saves you no space).

  • How Does One Delete Cyrus User Accounts?

When I try to use cyradm, it asks for an IMAP Password, which I don't know. I suppose it's for the _cyrus account? Should I change the _cyrus password?

See the line that starts with admins in /etc/imapd.conf.. You want to login with the username and password of the mail admin account.. For example, if my admins line in /etc/imapd.conf had the user name mailadmin, I would login with the following:
sudo -u _cyrus /usr/bin/cyrus/admin/cyradm localhost --user mailadmin
The first password is because of the sudo. The second is the passwd of the mailadmin account (whatever yours is called)..
If you do not know that password, you will need to change it...
You can still not delete once in.. The ACL doesn't have delete privs by default.. Here is the command to add all privs to the mailadmin account..
sam Other\ Users/p10002 mailadmin all (this assumes you are already logged in)..
    Hope this helps..

  • How long should it reasonably take to delete a User Account?

Just got a new 27" iMac.  I made the mistake of setting myself up as a user prior to migrating from my olde Mac G5 (Tiger).  When I did migrate, I realized it set up a new user with the migrated info.  Went ahead and kept that user and deleted the one I had created.  Problem is it has been "deleting" my user account for close to 6 hours.  Is this reasonable, or do I have a problem going on?  User screen in System Preferences just keeps saying deleting user.  Won't let me quit System Preferences or Restart.
    Thanks.

I decided to let it run overnight.  Checked it this morning and it was complete.  Go figure...
Not sure what the process of deleting a user account involves, but it sure took a long time, something more than 7 hours.  I definitely don't want to have to do that again!
Thanks for the response, I was going to go that route if it wasn't complete this morning.

How do I delete a user from my macbook pro?

If you've admin privileges and there are no files in the user account that you want to keep, just go to System Preferences>Users & Groups and unlock it with your admin password. Select the user that you want to delete and click on the minus button. You'll get a warning before you completely delete the user but once it's gone, it's gone.

In ITunes store- how do I delete old user ID?

    Edit :
You can log out of an account by tapping on its id in Settings > iTunes & App Store (and for iCloud via Settings > iCloud > Delete Account, Sign Out if on iOS 8). Any content that was downloaded by the account will remain tied to it, so only that account can potentially redownload its purchases and/or download updates to its apps

  • How do I run a user account from an external HD?

How do I run a user account from an external HD? I will be away from my desktop iMac and want to use our MacBook Pro overseas for two months with my iMac user account copied to an external drive.

    1. WARNING: This procedure is for advanced users only. Some third-party software may not work as expected, or may not work at all, if the home folder is moved.
    2. Back up all data.
    3. Copy your home folder to the desired location, which must be on a volume of type "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" with file ownership enabled, as shown in the Finder Info dialog. Encryption is optional. The volume must be on a local storage device, not on the network, and it must be mounted automatically at startup — before any user logs in. A disk image will not work.
The name of your home folder is your short user name. Do not rename it. Do not copy the "Users" folder.
    5. Select
     ▹ System Preferences ▹ Users & Groups
Click the lock icon and authenticate. Right-click or control-click your name in the account list, and select Advanced options from the popup menu. In the sheet that opens, change the location of the home directory. Log out and log back in.
    6. Test. If you have problems, reverse the above steps. If you got this far, you should have no trouble doing that. If everything works as you expect, delete the original home folder.
