How do i delete all mail settings for an exchange account

I have an exchange account that is somehow wrong.  By wrong I mean corrupted to the point that it will not login to the exchange server, and then after too many attempts it locks me out of the exchange account.  Apple mail and MS Exchange.

Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility has the option to repair permissions, which should be given at least 2 hours to finish. Sometimes this fixes launching issues with Mail.
Applications -> Utilities -> Keychain Access lets you delete mail passwords which will be obvious what they are from the Keychain program. You may simply be able to repair the keychain which that program has the option of doing to fix your problem with Mail.
Users -> yourname -> Library -> Mail and Mail Downloads folders store all your locally stored e-mail.
Users -> yourname -> Library -> Preferences -> com.apple.mail.plist
stores all the account setting information (not the actual mail) so you have to re-establish the account.

In the iPhoto preferences ==> accounts delete the account and re-enter it - sometimes that resolves this
Or IMHO the best long term solution is to set Apple Mail as the iPhoto e-mail client in the iPhoto preferences and use it - it has a number of advatages and has fewer problems

  • How di i delete all mail at once

How do you delete all mail at once?

Very likely, depending on your email account.
The way I would do it is in fact to click on each email.  If you press "edit", you can then click six or eight in each screen (which will place checkmarks next to each as clicked), and then simply delete them.  It's really a very quick process.

  • How can I delete all printer settings?

This was not always the case, but I've been having problems lately getting good prints from a HP PhotoSmart Pro B9180 from my Mac Pro since I installed Photoshop CS5. The printing problems - washed-out colors, especially reds- also happened with older versions of Photoshop, so it may not be the app that's causing this. I uninstalled, then reinstalled the HP drivers but the uninstall didn't delete all the settings accumulated over several years of printing. After lots of lousy test prints using different settings, I decided to try printing from another Mac that has never used this printer before. The prints came out right when printed with Photoshop CS1, which has a simpler print dialog than the later versions. By CS5, it has so many variables that it was hard to figure out which settings are affecting the quality.
I also tried printing the same file from Preview to rule out Photoshop as the cause. It was somewhat better but not as good as the print from CS 1 on the laptop.
I'm just trying to start with a clean slate to eliminate some of the variables that may be causing the print quality problems.
Where is the file or files that contain the list of saved printer settings? I looked in the User Library and its Prefs folder but discarding the HP Printer prefs file didn't delete the settings.

It seems to me that you’re having problems concerning colour management/profiles. In that case I’m not of much help. But you can try to reset the printing system of OS X and afterwards install your printer driver again. To reset the printing system open System Preferences/Print & Fax and right-click somewhere on the white space underneath your listed printers.

  • How to delete all mail settings and setup mail as if new installation?

Grrr! Comcast had my Mom change all sorts of email account and ISP settings, to the point where nothing works. I want to delete "everything" and start from scratch as if I just pulled the Mac out of the box. Will just deleting her email account be enough? Should I delete any files from the library? Etc.
    Thanks!

All you have to do is delete the account. This will also delete all her downloaded mail if this is a POP account.

  • Correct settings for adding Exchange account in Mail

I have successfully added an exchange account to my iPhone. However, to add the same account to Mail there different, additional settings that I cannot seem to get right.
the details I entered into my phone are as follows (please excuse the xxx's but I thought it best not to publish the full details of how to access my server!)
    server: arexxx1.axxxring.com
    domain: axxxring.local
    username: daniel
    password: xxxxxx
the settings that are required to add an exchange account to mail are:
    incoming mail server
    username
    password
    outlook web access server
    outgoing mail server
can anyone advise me how the settings I entered into my iphone might apply to the fields in Mail or if it is even possible.
    I am using os x 10.5.8 and exchange 2003.
    Many thanks

Obviously you know your username and password so all you should require is the incoming and outgoing mail server addresses which you can obtain from the domain IT people who provide the Exchange account. I am not sure what the outlook web access server address is, but your IT people should know.

  • How do I delete all files from an old user account on my MacBook Pro?

I've already deleted the user and clicked "Delete Immediately" to remove the user account and all the user's files, but a lot of their files and applications still show up in my Finder (and take up tons of storage space). Is there a way to permanently delete all of the old stuff?

The applications are stored in a global folder to be used by everyone, so deleting a user doesn't delete the programs installed.
If you don't want to do it manually, you could backup what files you do want to keep off the machine and erase OS X and everything in it's entirety and then reinstall it with the programs you want then files last.
How do I delete data from the machine?
How to reinstall just OS X or erase/install OS X

  • How can I delete all my email from my outlook account without deleting the account?

I am trying to delete the many emails from my outlook account which I can bring up on my ipad mini.  I want to keep the outlook email on the ipad.  So far all I have been able to do is bring up the email list, touch edit, then touch each email then move to trash.  I have a lot of email and would like to delete them all at once.  Thanks for any assistance!

    The Apple instructions state:
    Edit a mailbox.
While viewing a list of messages, tap Edit. Select certain messages or tap Mark All, then:
Tap Mark to Flag, Mark as Read or Move to Junk
Tap Move to move selected messages into a mailbox
Tap Trash to move them to the trash
If you make a mistake, shake iPhone immediately to undo.
Unfortunately, the MOVE and the Trash buttons never activate ... is there a fix for this or is this an oversight?

  • How do I transfer all Mail settings from my MacPro to my MacBook

I managed to transfer most settings by copying some preference files, but what I don´t get to transfer is a sort of adressbook:
If I type a new e-mail and enter a letter or the beginning of a name in the adress-field, mail shows me all adresses, I have ever send an e-mail to, begining with this letter.
Which file do I need to copy, to have all these adresses on my macbook too?

    Hello Felix Bartelt!
Apple Mail communicates with Apple Address Book, so if you want all your contacts on your new machine, you have to export them from Address Book first (as vCards for example). To do that open up Address Book, choose the contacts or group of contacts you want to export, choose "export vcards" from the file-menu and type the filename. After that copy the created file to your new machine, open up Address Book and import the contacts using the import-command in the file-menu (at this point you have to browse for the earlier created vcards-file). Now all your contacts should also be available for Mail.

  • [E2007] [EWSMA] [C#] [Windows]: How can I retrieve all mail sent via this Exchange server (during a time period)

    Hi there,
I'm quite new to Exchange and I'm not sure how to do this.
I've been looking at both push and pull mechanisms.
The query is conceptually simple. I can do it for one user, I think:
    var filter = new SearchFilter.IsGreaterThanOrEqualTo(ItemSchema.DateTimeSent, after);
    var folder = Folder.Bind(exchange, WellKnownFolderName.SentItems);
    var results = folder.FindItems(filter, new ItemView(1000));
....but I'm not sure how to it for all users.
    Many thanks!

    Hi,
This may be another option for you...
Is your Exchange hosted for you / Office365 or on premises?
If it’s on premises and you have storage space you could use a Transport Agent (and specifically a Routing Agent).
Using an agent you can take a copy of ALL email going in and out of a server (that's the whole email not just the headers or a log entry for it), then all you need to do is store it somewhere. I'd suggest just store it on file with an index (with date information
and the path to the email on disk etc) in a SQL database. Then when you need your "emails in a date range" simply run a query against your SQL database to get the list of emails. You can always run a batch job every now and then to remove emails older than
    a certain date.
If your Exchange is hosted (or you are not allowed to install software on the server) this won't be an option.

  • TS3899 delete all mail

How do I delete ALL mail messages, without deleting the account

You have to do them one at a time if you're doing it on the phone. The easiest way to do it is to go into your mail account on a web browser and delete them from there.

  • How can I delete all my mail from my computer, but leave it all on .Mac ?

How can I delete all my mail ( 3.5 ) on my computer ( original G4 ) but leave it all on the .Mac servers?

backup the device and restore it as new.
If you already have or don't need a backup:
    Erase your device
Erasing all content and settings will delete all the data from your device, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, calendar information, and any other data. All device settings are restored to their factory condition.
To remove all settings and information from your device, tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings. For more information about this feature, see iOS: Understanding 'Erase All Content and Settings'.
If you are unable to erase your device, restore the device using iTunes.
See: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137  for the exact steps.
Transferring ringtones isn't supported, as far as I know...

  • How to delete all mail in IPAD 1 and keep mail untouched in Gmail server.

How can I delete IPAD1 mail while keeping original mail at the server ? The problem is that when removing mail from my GMail account on my IPad1 the original is also removed from the Server. I want to free thousands of mails listed on my IPad Google account saturating and congesting my tablet but without deleting the original emails at the server. Sorry to repeat. But I want my problem be clearly stated. However I would like to receive a copy of the mail I get in the server, so that I can trash everyday's copies without touching my Gmail account at the server.  Maybe I have been redundant, please excuse me.  Cheers !!!  DavidSpartacco

It has been some time since I used POP3 on my iPad, it is just not a very good way to manage email between multiple devices. There is no check mark to simply change the Gmail account from IMAP to POP on the iPad. You will have to delete the account from the iPad removing all the email already stored on it. Once you have changed the server settings at Gmail you have to re-create the account on the iPad. Now that it is POP3 you should have a setting in the iPads settings to not delete the emails from the server when deleting them from the iPad. Once the new account is created on the iPad all the email on the server will download again and have to be deleted from the iPad. You will have to reset other devices as well, although Gmail may be able to handle both settings at the same time but they may conflict.
For your use, you may simply want to just use Gmail through Safari where you will be viewing your email directly from the server through the web browser. No messages are stored on your iPad, they are all managed on the server through your web browser. There is also a Gmail app available which may also leave all the messages on the server although I have not experience with the app.
When I had an email account set to POP3 I had the iPhone and iPad set to not delete messages from the server when I deleted them from the device. I had my home computer set to remove them from the server when they were deleted from there. It does work although each device is independent, reading a message on 1 device would not mark it as read on the other device. I ended up having to administer the email on 3 different devices even though they were the same account.

  • How do I delete all of my mail at the same time?

How do I delete all of my mail at the same time? Or is this even possible? Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately it isn't possible. You have to select one at a time. You might want to add your name to the many that have requested this feature in the past.

  • How to I delete all contact on my iPhone at once. These are contacts ABOVE the contact folder that says From My Mac. I do not want to erase all of the other settings and content from my iPhone -- just the contacts.

How to I delete all contact on my iPhone at once? These are contacts ABOVE the contact folder that says, "From My Mac."
Someone said create a new empty folder on the computer and sync to that -- didn't work .
Another person said, "Reset information in settings to restore to the default." That would erase ALL of the conetent I have on the phone and I do not want to erase all of the other settings and content from my iPhone -- just the contacts.
There has to be a better way than gong through and deleting one-by-one.

Go into Settings...Mail, Calendar and Contacts and siwtch off the Contacts section from the account in question.
The phone should ask you if you want to keep or erase the contacts stored on you phone.
However, if they aren't synched to anything and only exist on your iPhone, you'll have to delete them all one by one
