How do I delete all my bookmarks so I can then import my latest bookmarks from IE?

How do I delete all my old bookmarks in Mozilla so I can then import all of my fresh and newest bookmarks from IE?

Go to '''Help > Troubleshooting Information''', then click on '''Open Containing Folder'''. That will open Windows Explorer in your Firefox profile.
Close Firefox.
Delete the file '''places.sqlite'''.
Then use the instructions at [[Importing favorites and other data from Internet Explorer]]

  • How do I delete ALL Safari bookmarks?

I am currently using a MacBook Pro with OSX Lion 10.7.2 and Safari 5.1.2 and would like to know how to delete ALL Safari Bookmarks.
I have selected the various titles under Collections and selected all the bookmarks on the right and deleted these.  However, not that there is a Bookmarks section on the left just as there is a Collections section.  The bookmarks under this Bookmarks section are the one's I can't seem to delete all of without selecting each individually.  I believe these bookmarks might have been what was imported from my PC bookmarks when I converted.  However, I would like to be rid of them and there are a lot to remove.  It would be very nice if there were a less time consuming way to accomplish this task.  I've gone to find this plist file that I've seen mentioned in the support archives and I don't know if I don't understand the structure of Macs well enough but I can not find the plist to remove.
Please help!  I don't understand many acronyms and such that responses typically include so if you have a solution for me, please be very specific.
    Thanx

don't know if I don't understand the structure of Macs well enough but I can not find the plist to remove.
    Quit Safari.
Click a clear space on your Desktop. You'll see Finder top left corner of the screen.
From that menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this in exactly as you see it here:   ~/Library/Safari
That will open a Finder window for you.
Move the Bookmarks.plist file to the Desktop.
    Relaunch Safari.
That should remove all the Bookmarks from Safari.
If you want to re import those Bookmarks at some point, with Safari open, from the menu bar click File > Import Bookmarks.
BTW... when you are searching the Finder there are two libraries. One is root the other is user.
The    ~ (Tilde) character represents user:   ~/Library
    No tilde:  /Library     is root

  • I deleted all my bookmarks from bookmarks menu by mistake. I don't use Time machine, I have also tried to look to library, nothing is there. Can you help me, how to restore them?

Please, can anybody help me? I need all the bookmarks.

Do you have any backups at all? If not, I'm afraid there is nothing to do. You will inevitably lose all your data if you don't back up.

  • How do I delete an individual bookmark from the firefox brorser on a macbook pro?

I have accidentally bookmarked the same site twice on my mac & when I went to delete one of them I found difficulty in doing so right clicking wouldn't remove it ,so guess I don't know how to do this.

If you bookmarked page accidentally by clicking on "star" in address bar you can delete it by clicking that star again and selecting "delete bookmark".
If you have more bookmarks of the same page just go to Bookmarks => Show all bookmarks and search for duplicated ones. If you find one - use right click (or long click) to show context menu and select delete option.
If you have problems with context menu, just click on bookmark to highlight it, and use "delete" key to make it dissappear :)

  • How do I alphabatize all my bookmarks from the drop down menu with the star on the Right side of screen?

I want to alphabatize all my bookmarks that are in the drop down menu, the menu with the star icon, on the right side of the screen. I do not want to put them in folders or view them in the box from the menu bar and all the answers pertain to that box, and not to the one with the star. Thank you

I don't think it's possible from the toolbar button.
However, the action you take in the Bookmarks Sidebar or in the Library dialog will affect the Bookmarks Menu everywhere it is displayed, including the toolbar button, so you only need to use it for the few moments needed to use Sort By Name and then close it.
    Bookmarks Sidebar (either):
    * View menu > Sidebar > Bookmarks
    * Command+b
    Library dialog (either):
    * Bookmarks menu > Show All Bookmarks
    * Command+Shift+b
right-click "Bookmarks Menu" > Sort By Name

  • How do i restore all my bookmarks from an earlier version of mozilla firefox?

Firefox has been reminding me to update my Firefox version. And I did. After installing the new version, it restarted my computer. Now the first thing I did is to restore my previous tabs, the tabs that were open when i upgraded Firefox. But there were no history of my tabs.
Then I started looking at my Bookmarks. I lost all my bookmarks. My heart is pumping now and I want to cry. these are years of bookmark collection from my various works. Am I being penalized?
Please help me. Can I just revert back to the old version? Will this permit me to access my old bookmarks (never mind the tabs, they are still fresh in my mind)? I can't even remember the old version of firefox I am using.
Why didn't Firefox made a warning?
I have been a user of Firefox for a long time. This is the first time that I have lost my bookmarks. This is painful. I seek your kind support. Thank you.

  • How do i transfer all my bookmarks from an old puter to a new one ?

i got a new puter and i would like to know if there is a way to transfer or retrieve my bookmarked sites to my new puter?

For just the bookmarks, you can back them up, copy the backup file and restore them by using the procedure in the [[backing up and restoring bookmarks]] article.
You can copy more than just the bookmarks, for details see [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_backup Profile backup - MozillaZine Knowledge Base] or [[Backing up your information]]. There are some add-ons and utilities that can make this process easier. The first one is the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2109/ FEBE] add-on which can be used to copy a profile. Another option is the free [http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/ MozBackup] utility.

  • How do i delete "All Imported" pictures under "Album" under Photo App in iPad 2?

hi, i now have many photos in the All Imported folder under Album in Photo App in my iPad 2.   I don't seem to have a way either in Ipad 2 or in iTunes to DELETE / REMOVE these pictures?
can someone let me know how?

Yes, delete all the apps currently in iTunes, then transfer all the apps currently on the iPad back into iTunes. Of course it will take some time to sync the apps back into iTunes, but it satisfies your desire to remove all apps from iTunes that are not on your iPad without the need to laboriously note what is and is not there. In fact as a bonus after removing all the apps from iTunes you could open the ..\iTunes Media\Mobile Applications folder and delete any remaining orphaned files that might still be there, before you transfer purchases.

  • How do I delete all bookmarks?

Some how in importing bookmarks I ended up with several hundred bookmark folders each with about a hundred bookmarks. It is very slow, over 1 minute to delete each folder. I want to dump the lot and start over.

    Jim,
If you are sure that you want to delete all Safari Bookmarks, Quit Safari, find the Bookmarks.plist file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Safari Folder and drag that file to your Trash. Log out/in or restart and you will have a Default Bookmarks.

  • I want to delete all my bookmarks/favourites with on push of a button not individually.

In the past I found a way to delete all the bookmarks at once to clean out the registry but can't remember how I did it and can't seem to find it in help. There must be an easier way rather than one by one. The deleting bookmarks section in help pages doesn't do it. I run Vista home premium
    Thank you.

To reset the bookmarks to the handful of default bookmarks that come with a new installation, start Firefox in [[safe mode|Firefox safe mode]], then in the first dialog box that appears select the option "Delete all bookmarks except for backups" then click "Make Changes and Restart". All of your Firefox bookmarks will be deleted, but your browsing history will still be intact.

How do you delete all contacts on iPhone 4S? I have tried to sync and end up w/duplicates and now triplicates. 4,000 contacts have now turned into 12,000 contacts!! I "upgraded" to Lion and hate it - it was so much easier before. I managed to delete on MacBook (to start from scratch there), but cannot delete from iphone or ipad. I am so frustrated! Please help

Hi Cynthia!  If you are syncing from something like Gmail you can go into the iPhones Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>(account you are syncing)> and turn off contacts. It will ask you if you want to delete them from your phone - just click delete.  Exit Settings and turn phone off by power button (not all the way OFF).  Then re-open Settings>mail, Contacts, Calendars>(account you are syncing)> and turn Contacts back on - This is where you need to be careful - When you turn contacts back on you will be prompted to delete or save the contacts already on your phone. CLICK DELETE.  You should now have only your synced contacts on your phone!  Hope it helps!

  • How do I delete ALL emails on Droid Turbo (pop3)?

I have a Droid Turbo, and love it. But I cannot figure out how to mass delete (all) emails from the phone. I use Pop3 to my email.
I know you can swipe individual emails to delete or press and hold on an email to select, then do the same individually to many and then delete, but I cannot find a "delete all" option like my previous Droid Maxx. Because I haven't been able to keep up with it, I have over 999 emails sitting in there with no way at the moment to delete them all unless I spend a few hours deleting each one, one by one.
    Any help here?
    Thanks.

That is extremely disappointing. If I delete the account from my phone, will it delete all the messages that way? I might have to find a way to delete and re-add the mail into the phone as the current amount of messages is a large bloat to the phone.
Also, where do I suggest this "delete all" be added to the phone? This was on the Droid Maxx and previous versions. It is odd they would remove an option that could cause extreme bloat.

  • How do I delete    all contacts (at one time) from i      phone4

Somehow I have gotten mutilple listing in contacts.  How do I delete all contacts from I phone and start over?

        baprawski,
Is there a particular reason why you want to delete the contacts all at once? The only way you can delete all the contacts all one time would be to wipe the device. This will complete erase all data on the phone including the contacts.
You want to make sure you backup your device uisng the desktop manager. Once you perform the wipe you can then backup your contacts using the desktop manager and just make sure to uncheck the Contacts when backing up so they are not added back to your phone.
